2 out of 5 eggsNo Hybrid CrossfireX

Pros: Lots of SATA ports, 6GB/s. HDMI out.

Cons: Cannot crossfire AMD APU (Fusion) with discrete graphics. It's a bit misleading seeing that 'CrossfireX' is supported.

Other Thoughts: I must have tried everything imaginable to get the elusive 'Enable Crossfire' checkbox to show up in CCC. (AMD 3870K w/ Sapphire HD6670 GDDR5) No avail. I think there's probably a reason this board doesn't have hundreds of reviews. Too bad...

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced attempted to set up your system.
The AMD Dual Graphics (base on AMD CrossFireX technology) can be “Enable” in AMD VISION Engine Control Center”
We would like for you to contact us so we can find more information to help us, determinate if this is a component or motherboard issue

5 out of 5 eggsECS A75F-A is a BEAST

Pros: -UEFI BIOS
-BIOS is compatible with a MOUSE!
-BBS popup option
-64 gig ram max!
-Socket type has normally powerful processors
-Ram standard is 1866

Cons: -Second PCI-E x16 isn't x16
-Had to re-load windows to get the system up and running (to be expected with all motherboard upgrades)

3 out of 5 eggsECS can be good and bad

Pros: ECS motherboards in general (this one too) look good and usually have a nice layout. They have many features and work most of the time. Customer service has been good to me.

Cons: A few problems with this board. It will NOT set the memory speeds correctly even mannually in bios so there is a problem here. Will not identify an overclocked cpu. Boot screen takes a long time. HD audio on this motherdoard is in a horrible place. Must run wires accross the board to conect it.

Other Thoughts: Im sure this board needs a bios update. Hope its painless. Used ECS boards a couple times and there is always some small nagging issue. Speaker config or bios update, or etc. ECS has answered my questions and fixed all previous issues but why does this even have to happen? Better instructions need to be supplied by this company and a bit more attention to detail. My time should be spent enjoying the product not with tech support.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are expereincing with your memories and CPU. Please do contact us, as we would like to find out what specific CPU and memory you are currently using and help find a solution. We also thank you for your feedback on the motherboard layout.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of BIOS Features

Pros: Very nice board. Updated bios right away and only had problems figuring out the right voltage to run my HD6550 Processor. After finding a stable voltage ratio I couldn't be happier. It only recognizes my gskill memory up to 933 mhz but I knew that was a common problem with Gskill going into the purchase of my memory so I am not letting that ruin the rating for this fantastic board. I am sure If i would have paid the extra money for some patriot or samsung memory then I wouldn't even be mentioning it.

Cons: Didn't come with a cool sticker =(

Other Thoughts: 1000w coolmax psu, AMD FX HD6550 APU, 8 gigs (only 2 dims) of 933 mhz GSkill memory, 1 gig HIS hd6570 card, 6.0 mbs sata drives and I am chewing through BF3 on high settings (not ultra) with 3d enabled and set on high with 60-61 fps with 2 empty dimm slots and 1 empty PCI-E slot!!!!!!!!!!

Good things are suppose to run on like that sentence did!

5 out of 5 eggsElitegroup Black edition destroys :)

Pros: Everything this board is well worth the buy even though it isnt on the market anymore but it blows away asus, gigabyte, and biostar. Overclocking is highest out of all brands and has fast sata 6gb. I say the best FM1 socket board made and have researched it as well.

Cons: none what so ever

Other Thoughts: Tobad you cant get this black edition fm1 motherboard anymore its well worth it.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor tecnical support

Pros: one egg equals ZERO on newegg.

Worked great for months, one day not.

No longer using an ECS motherboard.
Moved all components to a NON-ECS board and works great.

Cons: System worked great for months. One day it would not post. All the obvious checks did not repair problem. Tried lots of tricks to to revive it. Decided it was dead when it would not beep without memory.

Other Thoughts: Spent 2 business weeks with ECS technical support. The ask questions like 'does it successfully freeze'. What does that mean? Explained it will not post, not beep, nothing. Moved all components to a new motherboard and all still works great going forward.

They do no appear tot care about failures, and they respond very slowly by EMAIL. Imagine useless support questions like 'Does the system successfully freeze up?'

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Ttmwke,

During the 2 months that this board was available, this item was only available for purchase through newegg. I can also not find a case on A75F-A Black Series unresolved.

Addtionally all ECS BLACK SERIES Comes with NO QUESTIONS ASKED VIP RMA Service which sents the board back to your hand within 99 hours after we receive it for RMA:

If you can get in touch with me Vincent @ 510-329-2388 or Vincent.wu@ecsusa.com, I like to find out where you get the board and your service experience to find the root cause of your issues and compensate your trouble.

Below link are the Black Series VIP RMA service and its reviews.
