1 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer Service

Pros: None that I can find. Not even the cheapest board.

Cons: Unrealiable

Other Thoughts: This board worked for all of six months before it died. Not a huge deal since that can happen from time to time. After getting it RMA'ed, I got an email from them stating that it had bent cpu pins and I would have to pay essentially the cost of a new board to get it repaired. That's totally unacceptable. If it had bent pins from installation, then it wouldn't have worked for six months. If the pins were bent, then obviously it happened after the fact since the board worked for over six months. I will not buy another board from ecs.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA sucks

Pros: There is no pros

Cons: shiped with bent pins. Never even made to the post screen. It would power on, think about something, then shut off. Had to send it back.

Other Thoughts: Looking at the other reviews, the DOA's seem to pretty common with this baord. sucks

2 out of 5 eggsWish it would have lasted longer

Pros: Great specs for the price

Cons: RAM slots died after 6 months

Other Thoughts: Well I did like this board for the price after I got a replacement that wasn't DOA however after 6 months it keeps rebooting itself. Tested the CPU in another system and works fine, same with the PSU, finally checked the RAM and pulled it.

Then it would power up fully but not get to the BIOS, it would just beep that the RAM was not installed. I thought it must be the RAM so I pulled some new memory from a working system and installed it.

Same thing, just reboots and won't get to the BIOS or even POST beeps. Tried clearing the CMOS too. Nothing.

I'm just going to chalk this up to a board I really wanted to like but will just eat the $50 and call it a day. ECS customer service is great but I just need a working board.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat except for QC issues

Pros: Excellent price, has everything onboard that you would typically need

Cons: First board was DOA, similar to a few other customer reviews. Newegg was great as usual and replaced the product in a timely manner.

Other Thoughts: I used this board to build an economical workstation for my local library. With a i3and 8GB of ram I was able to build it for under $400 thanks to this motherboard being so cheap.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate to previous review

Pros: see previous

Cons: see previous

Other Thoughts: While the first board came DOA. Newegg said upon return of the board they found bent pins. While this may be true I have done many builds before and never once had an issue due to installation error.

Either way the new board I received is working great and aside from not being able to get the speaker that is hooked up to work it should be just fine for my new NAS build.

2 out of 5 eggsSpecs are good but DOA

Pros: Great specs for a board of this price. HDMI, 4 SATA connections,

Cons: Well the main con is that the board was DOA. The 24 pin connector on the board is pretty tight and I had some trouble getting the Corsair PSU seated correctly. Also the 2 RAM slots make it difficult to get at the 24 pin slot without taking the RAM out.

Other Thoughts: If the board worked I could give a better review and we will see if the replacement has the same issues. The CPU fan wouldn't even come on and the only possible notion that a small amount of power was going through the board was the front power LED.

ECS was very helpful over the phone to help troubleshoot and Newegg was fantastic as usual. The only drawback of a replacement is I have to ship it back and wait for them to test it before I get a new one sent out. I do wish they were a little more like one of their competitors and shipped out the new part and then if need be charged me for the old one if it was never received or not DOA like stated. This would make getting my system up and running much faster.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your motherboard. Prior to shipping from our factory, all motherboards are tested to ensure that they are working properly. For a power issue, such as you are experiencing we would recommend testing in the following manner, if you haven't already and if you still have your motherboard on hand.

Test the board outside the case, free from touching any conductive surfaces, also remove ALL the components.
Once you have removed ALL the components (including CPU and memory), connect only the power cable from the power supply (20/24pin connector) and CPU fan. This is to eliminate all possible causes except power supply and motherboard. Fan is plugged in for a visual indication of power.
To power the system momentarily touch pins 6 and 8 on the PANEL1 header, using screw driver or pen. The system should power up and fans should spin. If the fans spin you have power.
If you have power go ahead and install memory, CPU, monitor and 4-pin ATX12V connection from power supply and retest.

If you have already sent in your motherboard for RMA, you may contact so we can ensure that your case is proceeding as it should.

For our RMA procedure, we do appreciate your feedback and it has been noted. We do have our 99-hour service available to help alleviate down time.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Quite happy

Pros: Nice small board. I'm loving the mini ITX form factor.

PXE boot works great. no issues with drivers, hard drive compatibility, ditto with RAM and CPU.

Cons: The I/O port bracket tab above the ethernet port bumps into the CMOS battery tuck onto it. I had to massage the connection a bit to get it to fit right. But not a big problem.

The BIOS is a little funky to use as it tries to look like a GUI, but I was able to navigate it enough to get things set.

Other Thoughts: I was amused by the windows 8 sticker since I'm using it for a Linux server, but imagine some folks will use for a desktop.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo

Pros: Great motherboard! Rock solid, haven't had one issue with this. I use it for my home theater PC and it works great.

Cons: Wish it had digital optical out for surround

Other Thoughts: Running sound through hdmi is nice being able to use one cable for both audio and video, but the sound quality of optical is still superior.
