5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Board

Pros: This is a very nice board for the price! Yanked it outta the box, slammed in 2 gigs of OCZ reaper (3-4-4-15) took out a brand new 5600X2 and eased it in with some artic silver, plugged it to a sata 320 with a cd/dvd and put in a new case for my wife and wow...breeze baby. I don't know what all the fuss is about. Yeah I had to clear the bios and then set it up BEFORE doing anything else but, so what? Get real... this board rocks, especially for the price. Stable, easy to overclock (well as far as you can overclock a 5600) and setup at a very reasonable price. Oh yeah...got lots of plugs and such AND they put em in nice places for me to hide the wiring....some people don't know why they put em in like that...hint hint.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Well thought out, fully developed piece of hardware. Just what you would expect from DFI. Admit I haven't owned it long but so far so good.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless

Pros: Everything worked flawless. Only thing I had to do to get system to boot was reset CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard. I am using a large video card as well and it has plenty of clearance from the chipset... not sure why anyone would have a problem with that. Had everything up and running in an hour.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: used 2.8ghz dual core AMD windsor. 2gb Gskill mem. BFG7900gt. Been gaming hard on it for a week straight and no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGood board, but needs new BIOS for Brisbane CPU

Pros: Great feature set, lots of BIOS options
I was able to overclock my 2.3GHz CPU as high as it would go (~2.8GHz)

Cons: Needs new BIOS for Brisbane CPU.

Other Thoughts: It didn't work at first, only fans spin. From reading other reviews, I knew it might not support my new Brisbane CPU.
Called DFI and they shipped an updated BIOS right away. With new BIOS, it booted right up.

3 out of 5 eggsFind another one

Pros: Nice looking, went in very well, chipset fan was really nice. No cons physically.

Cons: Drivers were horrible. Cause a ton of problems with windows and the computer itself.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if this is a pro or con, but the memory slots are in the weirdest place... hasn't caused any problems yet, but if the heatsink for the processor was anything as big as Thermaltakes Blue Orb then I think you would have some problems.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: Nice voltage options once I got it working.

Cons: The BIOS didn't support my new Brisbane CPU.

Other Thoughts: My system wouldn't post with my 4000 Brisbane . The fans would turn and that was it. It turned out that the board didn't have the newest BIOS. I purchased the cheapest Sempron from Newegg and popped it in. It fired right up and I flashed the BIOS to the newest. I put the Brisbane back in and it fired right up , and its been trouble free since. Brisbane.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Great performance/price.booted right out of the box.Used this Board for a build for a customer, used 64X2 4600, and 2GB DDR2 667, GeForce 7600GT, and this system Rocks!! love this board! the BIOS has tons of settings, and overclocks well.I like the Smart Gaurdian app. that monitors temps, and lets you control the fans from windows.

Cons: just minor cons...
no MOBO stand off's, plain jane green color..Chipset fan is loud, and seems to be poor quality, and just clears the back edge of the 7600GT.
USB drivers would'nt run from the install cd. had to manually install them. has LPT printer port. and Digi audio.

Other Thoughts: I think overall this is a great deal. it's a bit plain looking, but has most all the features that i would want.
i highly recomend it. just maybe considder replacing the chipset HSF, but make sure it's a low profile or it won't clear a long video card.

1 out of 5 eggsBad batch?

Pros: None, since the board never worked.

Cons: Had the same problem as some other reviewers, here. Chipset fan is the only part that seems to work. Started by building a full machine and then one-by-one removing each component, including the graphics card. Would never even post. DOA

Other Thoughts: Maybe DFI had a bad batch. But, do you want to get stuck with one?

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother

Pros: Lots of features for overclocking

Cons: board doen't not want to support Nivdia chipset video card in Vista. Floting box says "Attention Input not supported" even after loading Vista drivers. Does the same in XP Pro until drivers are loaded. DFI just put drivers and bios on web site for download. Now it won't post. Tech support is very bad. Hard to reach tech support. Then they try to blow youo off. They don't know anything about this MB. Having to RMA. Newegg offered to RMA (thank you Newegg)but why should they.

Other Thoughts: Bought becauseI thought DFI had a good rep? Guess not. I will never recommend nor buy DFI again

5 out of 5 eggsWhy the bad rap?

Pros: It installed very nicely and has an excellent board layout. It's better than the specs show. It took my DDR2 667 with no problems - did not underclock to 533, and I think it can take up to DDR2 800. This was my first DFI board and definitely not my last.

Cons: None...I really don't know why this board has gotten a few bad reviews.

Other Thoughts: Buy this board if you're looking for a quality board (with SLI capabilities, no less) that won't break the bank.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Design, buggy SATA

Pros: Great feature set for the price. It booted up without having to troubleshoot anything.

Cons: SATA ports are located at the end of the PCI-x video slot, Nvidia 7x00 and 8x00 series cards end up blocking the first 2 ports! Also having issues with detection of SATA Blu-Ray DVD burner on about every 4th boot.

Other Thoughts: Last DFI board I'll purchase. Remember to really look close at board layouts to avoid useless SATA ports when using a high-end video card.
