5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB for the price!

Pros: 2 PCI-E x16. no x8 x4 noise. BIOS is easy to set up and you can OC your processor and memory without any troubles. I haven't had a problem with this motherboard yet. unfortunitely my heatsink and fan for my CPU broke but thats no big deal because the motherboards auto shutoff is awesome hahaha.

Cons: none really.

Other Thoughts: Crossfirex support is great. Had to tweak the bios slightly then i was up and running. once i replace my cpu fan and later my cpu ill be in business.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: Absolutely no problems so far. Overclocking my CPU was a breeze, BIOs setup is nice and easy to use, and the Northbridge cooler that comes with it is a nice bonus. Keeps cool and supports crossfire.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board, really pleased with it

Pros: This board does exactly what I wanted it to do and the price was the best for an x38. Rock solid stable for me going on 3 months now. Northside bus fan option is great for moving air vertically through my case. Great Bios features

Cons: Overclocking in the bios can be confusing because the options aren't explained well in many cases.

I tried to drop the timing of my memory but it failed and my system wouldn't come back up with defaults like my ASUS does. I had to reset the defaults with a jumper but that worked fine. It may have been that the system was working correctly enough for the board to think everything was okay but somehow not allowing my display to come up because it seemed like it was starting up but no graphics.

Sideways SATA are a minor pain but no biggie in the long run unless you are swapping drives constantly.

Other Thoughts: They instruct you to use a small cpu fan on the NSB to cool but what I did was put the metal fan brackets on the bottom side of the NSB and then I was able to hang a full case fan from those brackets by wedding the corners of the fan into each bracket. Stays there very well and moves way more air vertically through my case toward all of my exit fans than a small cpu fan would.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Plugged everything in, and it fired right up. Everything Jived. Haven't touched a single thing in the bios except the boot order, during windows install.

Cons: Owner's manual could be a little more detailed with pinouts, (such as USB and sound connections) and a chart of post codes.

Other Thoughts: I still don't know what the heck the LCD codes represent. But I haven't had to use them so...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Easy to set up out of box, loads of bios options, colors, ability to change just NB HSF to aftermarket choice, dual pcie16 lanes, price.

Cons: Loads of bios options. Stock NB HSF wasn't adequate.

Other Thoughts: You can buy a Thermalright HR-05 SLI for the NB and file it down so you can run 2 GPUs. I use it and a Scythe infinity with two fans one drawing air across the NB HS. With this NB cooling setup temps never above 43C and I have more then enough room for any CPU HSF combination.

4 out of 5 eggsVery sorry for that last review

Pros: I haven't explored much, but dfi did tell me that my chipset driver problems could be caused by a "corrupt OS" which is exactly what the problem was...got another disk because mine never installed one file. I don't know why it wouldn't but after I installed this other disk bam it worked.

Cons: none other than the problem with the chipset drivers so if you have a problem try a reinstallation of your OS or contact DFI they reply very fast and it fixed my problem which makes me happy

Other Thoughts: I thank DFI again for the quick response and am now happy with my purchase. A hint to anyone if during your os installation if any file is missing at all it could cause the same problem with chipset drivers as I had.

2 out of 5 eggsit works.......ok

Pros: The board looks nice and works pretty well. I haven't explored the bios much and knowing dfi they do a lot for overclocking.

Cons: The North Bridge heatsink may get in the way of things. The first pcie x16 slot didn't line up with my case's top back slot, which isn't a big deal but when I first reinstalled windows I installed a few things 1 being a graphics card driver for my 8800gt and then I got stuck with 4bit color and 600x800 res. Now I'm afraid of installing the latest drivers after reinstalling windows again. I also installed my sound card drivers and when I click for options for it I get a message basically saying the card isn't attatched.

Other Thoughts: In my experience with my other(old) dfi board it was great...worked very well and this board I'm very sorry I payed for this. Another problem I noticed is the cd it came with doesn't want to install the drivers for the chipset. This time I would suggest to any buyer to do some research first and a good amount of it.

5 out of 5 eggsDFI has a winner!!!

Pros: I have always wanted to try a DFI MB in my AMD rigs. This MB was used in my first ever Intel build and its a great/forgiving MB.. It has a outstanding bios with tons of features. I am using a e7200 processor on it and have it running stable at 3.6 ghz on air.

One neat thing is that there are 2 Bios reset jumpers and they both can be used alone to reset the bios. The second one is located below the PS2 plugs in the back and they also included extra long jumps for this to be able to grab them easy.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: DFI DK x38-T2R MB, Intel e7200, 2 gigs Corsair XMS2, Visiontek HD3870, WD Raptor, Zerotherm BTF90 HSF, Thermaltake DuOrb VGA cooler, 500 watt PSU.
Will be switching it to Water soon.

5 out of 5 eggsMake sure you have the right parts

Pros: Best mobo ever,
On board pwr/reset is so frking awesome and saves so much hassle.
Can easily over clock on this bad boy if you know what you are doing.

e8400 to 3.8GHz with out breaking a sweat, 4GHz+ easy if I had liquid cooling.

Cons: "NO DIRECT CPU VOLTAGE CONTROL" as others have stated.

this is not a con just use CPU Special ADD, I think thats the right name.

Other Thoughts: This is the only board you will need in the X38/X48 category. Anything else is wasting money, unless you go for SLI but then you wouldn't be using any X38/X48 board now would you? 8p

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Crossfire, NB heatsink is working good had to put a fan on it to keep it cool. Overclocks like a champion. DFI makes some of the best boards for overclocking.

Cons: People that leave bad reviews because they do not know what the h$#@ they are doing.

Other Thoughts: I have this in a antec 900 case with a Q6600 cpu and 4gigs of Gskill 1066 memory running at (cpu 3.25GHZ) (memory 1100)
2-4850 ATI video cards in crossfire and this thing runs everything maxed out no lag at all. 3d mark 06 scores at 17,820. I play crysis on very high 30 to 45 fps CODMW 90 to 110 fps unreal3 runs at unreal fps. If you are reading this then buy it now. It is the best X38 board out there. IMO,, LOVE DFI BOARDS
