4 out of 5 eggsI was wrong

Pros: see prev comments

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: In my earlier review, i was wrong about the NIC -- It does work, I had a bad cable modem (realized after fits with other NICs and repeated calls to my provider.)

5 out of 5 eggsCoolMOBO

Pros: Good peformance, well built and excellent mobo for the buck. Easy to install and get up and running. First time successful

Cons: Drivers need to be downloaded before any installation is attempted with XP. Manual is skimpy.

Other Thoughts: I had a difficult situation trying to use the old HD with the Operating system on it already. I didn't want to lose the programs that were not replaceable. Thanks to good olde Google, I solved the many problems I encountered. The MOBO worked flawlessly through the whole ordeal.

3 out of 5 eggshmmm

Pros: Works fine, I still have never got a DOA Biostar despite all the bad reviews

Cons: This particular model has some kind of video problem. Mine works okay with onboard, but if I have a PCI-E video card in it won't boot after sitting for a while. Works fine, but if off for 45+ mins, it goes through windows logo and blacks out on what I assume to be driver initiate.

I've narrowed it down to the motherboard or maybe compatibility with the video card, I don't know.

Other Thoughts: This might be the "reset" problem everyone is talking about. The BIOS update, however, did not fix it.

I called Biostar and either spoke to an immigrant or foreigner who guided me to the BIOS downloads on the website. He was unable to understand that I already tried that. Would be nice to have some employees that know English on their support team.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't Do It For Me

Pros: It's cheap. Has all standards on it.

Cons: Everything else for me. I got the board into the case, turned it on, everything worked great, set up the BIOS, then went on to install windows. After that, it went south. The BIOS wouldn't hold any settings, after any type of warm reboot, and I couldn't get linux or windows to re-install on there, and gave errors first indicative of memory, then just wouldn't work at all.

Other Thoughts: Newegg RMA'd it for me, I wasn't brave enough to stick it back into the box. Instead, I junked the cpu, went with a different cpu, more ram, and a different motherboard, which is now working out rock solid.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Seems to work as advised.

Cons: The onboard graphics run HL2 at 3 FPS on lowest settings. Northbridge has no fan. Speedfan displays temps of 127C on one of the sensors, the system is stable so a sensor must be dead.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Basic Board

Pros: Stable and inexpensive

Cons: NIC didn't work, bought the board because old computer/mobo didn't have a NIC and used USB to connect with Cable Modem

Other Thoughts: Good board, a little disappointing about the NIC, but not a deal breaker for me.
