5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Stable, overclockable, nice selection of PCI-e ports without abandoning good old PCI.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: Overclocking is a breeze.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid!

Pros: Newegg RMAed it without any hassle.

Cons: I ordered this motherboard for a DVR build. Once getting the machine built, the TV stream was full of errors. I thought it was my OTA reception in conjunction with the television tuner. It turned out to be the motheboard. Every large file (>1mb!) traveling across the system bus was highly susceptible to CRC errors. No matter how I transfered files to the machine (ethernet, usb), the file would fail an md5sum check. I returned this board for a Gigabyte board and everything works just fine.

Pros: cheap price, no onboard video to dispable.

Cons: Arrived and wouldn't stay powering the display on. Refused to read any HDD.

Other Thoughts: my first Biostar motherboard and my last. I just purchased a replacement MSI board.

4 out of 5 eggsIt worked

Pros: good bios options, and decent overclocker. i have my 1640 le orleans @ 2.9 ghz easy.

Cons: loose nb heatsing in shipping

Other Thoughts: other than the loose heatsink, this thing is amazing for the price. great investment.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: On unpacking noticed one of the pins holding the northbridge heatsink in place was broken. Heatsink was cockeyed on board. Couldn't tell if thermal contact was damaged, so immediate RMA.

Other Thoughts: Have seen some good reviews for this board, was hoping to get a decent board cheap, as I don't do gaming or high end crunching. It appears out of stock, so I'm disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsnot bad, but definitely not high quality

Pros: it is cheap as far as money goes. it works even though nb heatsink was loose. i was impressed by the bios. lots of options.

Cons: the nb heatsink was crapified when i opened the box.

Other Thoughts: the nb heatsink was askew because of a faulty clip. i decided that i was not going to rma because of a stupid plastic clip, and i rigged it up with two zip ties. it took 2 minutes, and it saved me an rma. i give it 5 eggs because i am happy with the purchase. i recommend this board. (get the zip ties ready... it looks like i'm not the only one with the heatsink problem)

2 out of 5 eggsWould be great but..

Pros: Cheap

Cons: The heatsink of the northbridge was clear off when I got the darn thing, so I am rmaing it. You get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I hope this RMA will be quick, this is absurd as Newegg doesn't have anymore of these motherboards in stock.

4 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Rock solid board. No problems, easy install. Seriously 99 percent of those who claim failures with these types of products, usually have no idea what they are doing. Static discharge, and mishandling are killer. Further a lot of people here try and overclock which is moronic. Yes 15 year old idiots trying to bump their x2 from 2.1 to 3.0 ghz most likely will experience problems, lol.

This Mobo is solid, like most products newegg sells. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt.

Cons: Would give it 5/5 with the exception it only has one IDE port.

5 out of 5 eggsGood solid mobo

Pros: 8GB of RAM supported, which I plan to upgrade to. I don't overclock so I don't have any complaints for that either.

Cons: Its small and the 24 pin connector is on the other side of the CPU slot. Grrr.

Other Thoughts: Good board if your on a budget.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 36 hours.

Pros: I reviewed this board earlier and gave it high marks but it only lasted 36 hours before spontaneously combusting. See thoughts.

Cons: See thoughts.

Other Thoughts: At just over 36 hour mark, and with no stressful benchmarks even having been run, this board died a hardcore death. Windows locked up, and would not reboot. The IDE controller is my primary culprit, because after about 10 different hard disk configurations I finally realized they were reverting to PIO mode as soon as windows attempted to boot due to an obscene number of write and read errors (about 100 in the 5 minutes I was able to stay in windows the single time I was able to reboot). I ripped the board out for another board, an NFORCE4 board by Gigabyte, and the system booted on the first try. It didn't even have to reinstall windows thanks to the similar IDE chipset. I did lose some data on the drives though, due to this disasterous Biostar board. RMA here I come, not buying another one.
