1 out of 5 eggsBad Choice

Pros: Takes ddr2 and ddr3 (can't use both at the same time.)
Lots of SATA ports

Cons: When first turning on, shutting down and back on, or any type of hard boot the mobo takes me about 15 minutes to actually POST. The power will cut off and then back on again before the POST most times. It is now stopping at the screen after the CMOS.

Other Thoughts: I got this motherboard to upgrade to DDR3 memory but wish I would have went with something different.

5 out of 5 eggsCautiously Optimistic

Pros: Replaced an older XFX 680i LT board to make use of the newer DDR3 RAM chips without breaking the bank. OC'd my e8400 nicely and accomodated my XFX 9800GT without a glitch. No need to update the BIOS just yet.

Cons: Fan control only for the CPU and not the case. Newegg specs stated 4x internal USB 2.0 connections, but only found 2. Let me know if someone found the other 2.

Other Thoughts: First time utilizing a Biostar board. I have been a solid Asus and XFX customer. I hope I made the right choice. Time will tell...

2 out of 5 eggsi dunno

Pros: nothing didn't even boot

Cons: Can't say much about it, I tried booting my hard drive that was already installed on a old amd board, gives me errors and such on this new board, I'm gonna return it.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully it doesn't poop out on me again. I'm going to try and boot it with another cpu and if its the cpu then dont take this review so serious. Maybe its the cpu, maybe its the MOBO, time will tell with some test. Overall I don't feel ill be buying intel boards for a while.

5 out of 5 eggsGot it at 70$

Pros: Full size
Cheap
OC is easy, 1600 FSB ! Do the calculation: Q6600 at 2.4GHz 1066 FSB can go to ?
Automatic CPU voltage works well.

Cons: Motherboard is bending at the back of the CPU when the heat sink is installed
4GB max DDR3
Only 2 PCIe slots more than the video card slot
No fan speed control other than the CPU
Sound card is buggy sometimes, driver issue ?
So many options in BIOS overclock, you can get mixed if you don't know what to do.
Automatic OC V3, V6, V9, they work, but it's so a small overclock !
Automatic timing of RAM doesn't work at all when OC.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a transition upgrade, I wanted to keep my Q6600 for a while by overclocking it. I already overclocked it at 2.6 GHz on my Conroe865PE, but that was nothing for this CPU.

It runs at 3.3 GHz now, it hot enough so I won't try more. Really stable.

On my future upgrade, I will just have to replace the motherboard and the CPU, and possibly my OCZ vendetta 2.

1 out of 5 eggsdoa

Pros: Unknown

Cons: Upon opening CPU access, 7 or 8 contact points were observed to be damaged. I did not want to risk putting in the CPU.

Other Thoughts: Are these older boards being returned then recirculated without QC?

4 out of 5 eggsA good price to keep old PC going.

Pros: Cheap, boots fast, allows for upgrades that were not available when I first built my Core 2 Duo machine.

Cons: Not as user friendly as an ASUS or Intel board may have been. No adapter for the power and LED pin connectors and such.

Other Thoughts: This board will allow me to extend the viability of my Core 2 rig another year or two, and that includes my gaming. Currently rocking an old 8800 GTS card and even older DDR2 ram. Now I can upgrade them both.

1 out of 5 eggsgreat learning experience

Pros: board has all the features described on new egg

Cons: it seems that the cmos battery is dead strange because this is supposed to be a brand new board

Other Thoughts: biostar support is almost non-existent i bought one of them there pre-made desktops from the walmart and when i had trouble with that dell was on the phone with me helping me fix it step by step with biostar i have to send them an email and then wait and hope they respond

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsScrewy board

Pros: full atx, pci-e 2.0, static bag was sealed.

Cons: pci-e slot wasnt right. had to keep reseating my radeon because of no signal. something was just totally wrong with the chipsets. ran fine for a half hour then bam bsod. 5 more restarts with bsod, then windows would magically work again for a bit. reinstalled 6 times and threw my parts in left some out and could not figure out the problem.

sometimes it was a win32.sys, an ati driver or a random bsod. even windows setup would crash. so im thinking it was perhaps a ram slot issue as well (reseated/changed those 5 times). perhaps just a poor assembly that somehow made it through QC (do they have QC on mass produced mobo's?)

ill reconsider before buying another biostar. their old boards were nice.

Other Thoughts: the manual was in broken english. easily understandable but could have been more informational.

the bios was just horrible IMO. the manual only described the overclocking features in the bios.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything you could need

Pros: LGA 775 Chipset helps me to extend out my current CPU, I gained a lot of RAM expansion with this and some great options for RAM since it can be DDR2 or DDR3. Overclocking ability is awesome but I haven't used it yet. The PCI-E x16 2.0 is wonderful for a board with this many options.

Cons: A bit flimsy after mounting it in my case. You want to be gentle when snapping SATA cables in or other stiff connectors on the board. Not going to dock any eggs for this because the thing works just fine.

Other Thoughts: Works fast and gave me a cheap upgrade option for my CPU and keeping most of my core components.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Good overclocking. Can use DDR2 or DDR3 if your trying to upgrade slowly to a better setup. Runs Cool, quiet, very stable.

Cons: Some of the overclocking options in the bios are not as free set as most would like. The main one is the RAM freq to FSB link and the options it gives you to set. It doesnt help I have OCZ 1066 DDR2 that wont run any faster then 900 without crashing at its listed 1066 timings. No esata or firewire, and the onboard sound is just the plain setup.

Other Thoughts: For the price you cant beat it. Switched from my ASUS 750i SLI board due to heat/BSOD issues.
