1 out of 5 eggsSecond RMA

Pros: After the first rma the board did work for about 2-3 weeks. :)

Cons: I have had this stupid board for over a year and it has been restarting every 2 mins. - 2 hours (depending on whether or not the integrated network card is plugged in) for well over half of that time. The list of things i tried is as long as my arm and quite frankly even if it does work i will never trust it again.

Other Thoughts: I have been working on computers for almost 10 years and this board has forced me to try every computer repair trick that i have ever learned.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdated Review

Pros: I like their download site

Cons: I was way to quick to leave my first review. This board and the company have nearly driven me to distraction. Initally I got "display driver has stopped responding" so I RMA the graphics card. Did not fix. I went through all the hoops to have my RAM sent out and checked. I sent the 955 AMD CPU out to be checked. Finally I convinced Biostar to RMA the board. They found a bad part in the board and put in a new one. It worked for a while then started BSOD. This time an RMA to Biostar resulted in a used replacement board. It was stone dead and had a broken pcie slot tab. The next RMA Biostar sent my original board back. I almost could not believe this. It was the same as before 10 minutes of running and the sams BSOD. I just ordered a new Gigabyte board from Newegg. I'm done with Biostar.

Other Thoughts: Very poor customer service. I had to keep calling and follow up to try to get a decent turnaround time. Even so it was 2-3 weeks each time. Since owning this board from last fall I have 6-7 weeks of down time and stress. THE NEW GIGABYTE BOARD WILL MESS UP MY WINDOWS ACTIVATION. I WILL HAVE TO BEG MICROSOFT TO GIVE ME A NEW KEY. Yeah, I[m not happy.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: none

Cons: Would not install XP - kept locking up. Cleared cmos and finally got os installed. Now randomly hangs on boot, have to clear cmos then it works for a few days.

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks, Biostar doesn't.
First (and last) Biostar purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsgood enough

Pros: price, features, I like the colors.

Cons: I had alot of issues getting this thing to allow me to even install my operating systems, it would freeze up everytime, I would hit the reset button, and then it would let me in.
However! another reviewer suggested resetting the CMOS, I did and it now works fine.
Startup seems a little drawn out.

Other Thoughts: If you are having issues with this, reset the CMOS. worked for me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Works, works really good in fact. Design & layout feels right and the manual actually explains the LED's errors. Would suggest THIS biostar board to a budget builder.

Cons: Board will not post if you mess a setting up natively, requires the clear cmos jumper to be sit, not a problem just do your tuning before you button it up. Board required a bios flash to be fully stable with my dual core unlocked to a quad. Not really a con :]

Other Thoughts: Biostar has not always been known for quality boards but this is for sure hit a special place in my little tech heart.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Got this in a combo with an AMD Phenom II X2 on the cheap. I was able to unlock two cores with the push of a button. I've had no problems so far and I'm pleased with the purchase.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsSolid, cheap

Pros: Functions perfectly. good heat management, lots of bios options, sata 6.0 Gb/s.

Cons: The PCI Express X16 slots are way to close together. Right now running one Radeon 5850. If I put another one in there will be less than 1cm clearance between the top card's fan and the bottom card. I plan to crossfire soon and I think this is going to cause heat management issues.

Other Thoughts: If your not planning to crossfire with dual slot cards then buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Price good. Tech support via email responsive. My front USB ports were made buggy. Wireless mouse drivers corrupted every time I put it in hybrid-sleep I set BIOS to wake up devices and moved jumpers to 2-3 closed and problem solved. I set fans to quiet which really helped CPU fan noise. I set SATA to AHCI for Kingston SSD. I used AMD SATA drivers instead of Microsoft Win 7 drivers. WEI went from 6.7 to 6.8 on hard drive performance. HDDTune went from about 200 to 215

Cons: The instruction manal is way too brief. During boot with no HDD (just SSD) it flashes NO ANY DEVICES FOUND! Looks like they could state it in good English.

2 out of 5 eggsYeah..

Pros: Umm...

Cons: BSOD every time I tried to Bio-Unlock or overclock with this board. Confusing bios, ran a scan for my DVD drive at every start up, and did I already mention multiple BSOD's?

Other Thoughts: Read the reviews on this first. I wish I would have paid more attention.

3 out of 5 eggsBIOS is terrible

Pros: The board is stable.
Supports 140 W CPU, so is stable.

Cons: BIOS is terrible. It is very complicated to use compared to other ones. The configurations are arranged in different sub-menus somewhat randomly, hard to get used to.
Some settings are named differently. You can not control the multipliers on some settings but can indirectly control it by selecting a desired frequency which is then changed by the base clock.

Other Thoughts: I had to reset the cmos as the board would not power up giving a memory error led code. Apparently this happens on my CPU when the core unlock is enabled. It was enabled in the bios by default. After the cmos reset using a jumper the board powered on.

I was a bit confused by this, since it was my first build.
