1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: it works

Cons: doesnt support my 1600 ram..it says it is at 1333 still but all timings have changed for the 1600

Other Thoughts: spend a few extra bucks and get a better motherboard

2 out of 5 eggsNew bios, still old mem problem

Pros: Nice little board, but...

Cons: New bios didn't fix mem speed problem with G530 CPU in XP-32 bit OS. Still runs @ 1066, not 1333 like it should.

Other Thoughts: How bout tech support getting on this NOW! Thanks

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, unfortuntely the issue is related to the CPU as the memory speed support is 1066.

3 out of 5 eggsYou Get What You Pay For

Pros: -Cheap
-Small
-Still working after running 24/7 as my workstation from September 2011 to March 2013
-Color scheme for the board isn't bad

Cons: -People have mentioned this before, but some of the SATA ports get blocked by a dual slot PCI Express video card. It can be alleviated a bit by using angled SATA cables, but it shows poor forethought in the design of this board.

-The LAN stopped working after a little over 1 year. The BIOS doesn't recognize it as being there, and the yellow LED for the port just stays lit.

Other Thoughts: I did get it with a discount here and for what I paid, I can't really complain. But in hindsight, I think it's worthwhile to shell out a few more bucks for a motherboard that's better built. There's a few manufacturers that come to mind that produce solid products at reasonable prices, and since the purchase of this Biostar product, I've learned my lesson on going for the lowest price product.

I've heard horror stories about Biostar warranty support, so I didn't bother with it. I picked up a USB adapter and eventually switched the whole setup over to run as my HTPC.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Mother board bad RMA

Pros: Decent Motherboard have used many of these in recent builds sets up easy.

Cons: I had one DOA out of probably 20 some I have used, when I sent the DOA back Newegg says the CPU socket was damaged by me and there is no way that happened. First off I have built hundreds of computers and never damaged a motherboard socket or anything else. More importantly, if I had damaged the cpu socket I would have also had to damage the CPU and that is not the case, but the CPU in another same motherboard and works perfectly.

Other Thoughts: I will continue to buy these boards as they are a good value, I was not impressed by how my RMA was handled.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Wouldn't know, never worked

Cons: Dead on arrival

Other Thoughts: Only 55 bucks not even worth paying 15 bucks to RMA the thing. Tossing in the trash and getting a better Mobo. Sometimes not worth it to try to save couple of bucks.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT PURCHASE BIOSTAR

Pros: None absolutlty none, unless of course you like being ripped off. Junk absolute junk.

Cons: Worst customer service ever. Do not purchase anything with BIOSTAR name on it. I would give it no eggs if I could still post this review.

Other Thoughts: I knew that I should have just use this motherboard for target shooting. Don't waste your time or money to RMA a board. They will just send it back say it's OK and not return only the motherboard, keep all you cables and faceplate and manual and CD. Save yourself a heart atttack.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, please note the RMA form does state do not send accessories or other parts or they may not be returned. Most cases we still return the accessories but sometimes we may miss this. Please contact support@biostar-usa.com and they would be glad to send you the accessories

5 out of 5 eggsNice Quality Cheap M-ATX Board

Pros: I was looking for a $50-75 M-ATX LGA1155 board for the next build I was going to be making and I decided to pick up this one. For what it is priced at and does for me, I am happy. Has a modest amount of USB ports on the back and has 2 USB 2.0 headers on the board, supports legacy D-Sub and DVI, has 4 SATA ports, more than enough for the drives I use and has support for Ivy Bridge CPUs so if I ever feel like upgrading from my i3 2100, I have the option to. Overall, a nice board.

Cons: I'm a little dissapointed that this board does not support DDR3 1600 without overclocking, but I got

Other Thoughts: I managed to snag this board for $49.99 plus the $10 rebate. Submitted the Rebate form a little over a week ago. Here's to hoping it goes through!

4 out of 5 eggsnice for the price

Pros: small
works well especially for the price
pretty self explanatory on where to plug in what
plenty of expansion options
the price is what turned me onto this board in the beginning

Cons: my only issue is that it all of the sudden died on me a couple days ago, now i've had this board for almost 2 years

Other Thoughts: for the price, to be honest i expected it to go bad the first couple months. I run a i3 on it and i absolutely ran the heck out of it. Played games, made videos, etc
it served its purpose.

This was my very first build, i can say that i am happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend this board to anybody. It was time for an update on my computer anyway.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Fast little guy, even XP 32 bit

Pros: Very-Fast, even on XP 32-bit! Complete drivers for XP 32bit
I've had 4 BioStar boards and they always seem fast, compared to others. Scores out well on PassMk PerfTest7, except memory is a little below average.

Cons: Will only run memory at 1067 (Auto). Won't boot if set @ 1333 (13.33). Hence, the lower mem score. I tried 3 pairs of memory, so it's not that. Tech. support asked me what mem & CPU I used (G530), but they've not answered! I also asked them if bios flash OK, so I just did it getting tired of them not responding. Glad bios is now current. Read 2 other users having same mem 1067 issue. The Rebate thing for 10$ is like they have you jump through so many hoops then they hope you give up. If you flash bios, start by USB driver copy through F12 boot utility. I couldn't get other 2 ways to work.

Other Thoughts: I do want to say, despite the issues, this thing is FAST with a little G530. I really think this is better than overclocking the old 775s, even with old XP32. I would INVITE though, tech support addressing me here about the 1067 mem problem. I have supported their product 4 times so how bout a little for me. I do think though, that the mem issue will get resolved, making a fast board faster.
