5 out of 5 eggsScreamer for Pennies

Pros: Purchased this to transplant my mamoth media center pc (Vista Ultimate) into - every component identical except the case and this motherboard, and it was over a 50% improvement in speed over my nForce 590's.

This is my primary motherboard now. I LOVE the nForce 405!

Cons: Its small, but isnt that what Micro ATX is for?

Other Thoughts: Came with more documentation that I actually used vs any other. Had detailed drawings of pin outs that were nessisary for my imported, no name case connectors.

Pros: good solid board,and cheap

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: you dont need an adapter for the 8 pin, just plug in the 4 pin and it will work just fine.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board For Business

Pros: I built a computer for my church and it is all they need; only doing word processing/desktop publishing, accounting and database work. I have read other reviews that indicate a high number of DOA’s, etc. I had the same problem with a USB keyboard that several others have had. Hooked up a PS2 keyboard, went into the BIOS and change the setting to “On boot up halt on all errors except keyboard”. After changing the BIOS setting the USB keyboard worked flawlessly.

Cons: Shouldn’t have to change BIOS setting to get a USB keyboard to work.

Other Thoughts: I have been using Jetway (J-Mark) motherboards for "years" for business computers and have never had problems.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 8 GBs max RAM, Award winning BIOS, Affordable, SATA and IDE, what more could you ask for in a motherboard...

Cons: none found yet...

Other Thoughts: This is an 8-pin motherboard but runs alright on a 4-pin as long as you are running an entry level processor and don't try overclocking it...other than that its a good motherboard...I would buy another if I were to build another non-gaming/non-media computer...

3 out of 5 eggs8-pin Watchout!!!

Pros: Micro ATX board but has the musle of a standard ATX board. Cheap

Cons: AH! this thing requires a 8-pin!!! you only find those on higher end PSUs. My PSU that i bought doesn't have one. Great. I have to buy an adapter for it now.

Other Thoughts: I dont get it. It seems like a budget mobo, but it requires a plug that only comes with higher end PSUs? DON'T buy this if your building a budget computer. Your going to be kicking yourself if made the same mistake i did. Unless you want to spend the 5 bucks on a adapter. Now i have to wait another 3 days for this adapter to come. Lesson learn. read the specs thoroughly

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Award Bios. Nice price. IDE and SATA is a plus. Up to 8 GB of memory, great for a low cost server.

Cons: Ethernet is only 100/mbs.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board to replace my old dual Pentium III Intel server board that bit the dust. I use this machine for file storage, bit torrent, some intranet web apps, and some other programs. Running dual 500mhz my old server load would be reaching 1-2.0 with a few downloads going. With this new board running an Althlon 64 and 2 gbs of memory, I have trouble passing 0.03 with the same load. I Run the latest version of ubuntu server for amd 64 and it runs/installs great. I have not done any benchmark tests yet, but as far a replacement for an older/dead server this board works great. Remember this is a cheap board but for an economical machine you can't beat it.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Motherboard

Pros: This was a great low cost board for an internet and bill paying station. It has lots of features, and I like the small formfactor. System was easy to configure, and XP installed without a hitch.

Cons: None at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsJust works

Pros: Good solid board, works out of the box. Four memory slots is a plus for such a cheap board.

Cons: None so far

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Board was easy to set up with plenty of BIOS options. Allows for generous undervolting and overvolting of the CPU, NB, and VDIMM. Decent CPU, RAM, and even PCIe overclocking options. The IGP is factory overclocked at 525MHz and BIOS allows for user to overclock the IGP all the way up to 600MHz if desired, or to "underclock" the IGP all the way back down to the Nvidia recommended 425MHz. Other nice features included working Cool N Quiet support, CPU fan PWM control for quieter fan operation, and two chassis fan connectors.

Cons: -No S3 standby support. Hard to believe in this day and age that a motherboard maker will still fail to take the time to properly code in a working standby function. This is not a board to use for a Media Center computer.
-There is no mention of BIOS features or explanations of BIOS options in the manual.

Other Thoughts: -Although the board has crazy 8 pin power connector for the CPU, a 4 pin plug works fine. Same with a 20 pin plug in the 24 pin connector, works just fine (as long as one is using the IGP, a PCIe graphics card may require a 24 pin plug).
-Total power consumption of this motherboard with a single optical drive, single hard drive, a sempron LE-1100 CPU and two sticks of DDR2 ram is just 60 watts at idle.
-Users may want to pay attention to the temperatures of the voltage regulators and the Nvidia chipset. Using the stock AMD CPU heatsink and fan, the Nvidia chipset was adequately cooled, with temperatures not exceeding 40 degrees. However, the voltage regulators to the left of the CPU socket are neglected using the stock AMD cooler, and temps for those reached as high as 60 degrees Celsius with just a Sempron CPU under mild load. Some attention should be given to these areas to ensure prolonged board life and stability.
-Purchased open box. Would have given 5 stars if S3 worked.
