5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to "Quirky but usable" below

Pros: Since I wrote that last review, I updated the BIOS on the motherboard from the A03 version it shipped with to version A08 from the Jetway website. That has completely resolved the issue I had with it turning on. I've also thrown in a Radeon 4770 and I have a great budget gaming rig now. Plays every game I've thrown at it pretty well. This motherboard works great now.

Cons: None now. Just wish the motherboard had shipped with a problem-free bios in the first place.

1 out of 5 eggsi hope i can still get my money back

Pros: the built in graphics card when it works!

Cons: super buggy and wont boot 90% of the time and its getting worse just took me 4 hours to get it to finally boot please beware of this motherboard !!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: it gets 1 egg just because of the igp! and i have had it to long for newegg to help me so im hoping that jetway will stand behind the product. nothing against newegg i am sure that if it was still within the 30 days they would have me new one here tomorrow.

1 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: The fact its a micro atx board with crossfire.

Cons: Jetway has almost no customer service. Rma process is terrible. This board has always acted weird because of the bios. It always needed updated and I have never completely solved the issue with the power button. The system will not power back on without reseting the power supply. This has happened with 3 power supplies so its not them. One sata port went out also.

Other Thoughts: Learn from my experience and please get a board with better support. Not all jetway boards are bad but do you really want to have to go through the hassle if it is?

4 out of 5 eggsQuirky but usable

Pros: I've had this board for about 4 1/2 months now. Part of a new budget build that included an Athlon II X2 250, 4GB DDR2 800 5-5-5-15 G.Skill Ram, and a Corsair 400W PSU. The setup went smoothly and the system runs well. I dual boot Linux Mint 7 (based on Ubuntu) and the Windows 7 RC on this system (both 64-bit). Both work without problems.

This motherboard also runs an old nvidia 7950GT pci-e card at a full x16 lanes without problems. I simply had to install the included switch card in the other pci-e slot and set a bios setting. I hope that is helpful to anybody who is wondering if this board will support full x16 on a single pci-e slot - it will. In the future I may try to put a Radeon 5770 on this board.

Cons: Like a couple of other reviewers have mentioned, this board has a problem where after powering it on with the regular power button, it will not post until after I hit the reset button on the case. No video output at all - the case lights come on, the fans spin up, and the drives spin up, but nothing else until I hit the reset button. Strange, but after hitting the reset button the system boots normally and runs stable. I've tweaked BIOS settings, checked all the cables and connectors, switched between onboard and dedicated graphics, and the problem remains.

Other Thoughts: I got this board because it came as a combo deal with the processor, saving me some money. At the time there was no reviews on this board, but the specs looked very good, and I thought I would give it a chance. Looking back, this board has been working well for me, but next time I will probably go for a board from a more established manufacturer.

Also, before installing the 7950gt, I used the onboard graphics for a while, and they worked great. Probably the best onboard graphics I had seen. Played Battlestations: Midway at decent settings, which surprised me. The 7950gt is a significant improvement, however, even if it is older and doesn't support DX10. A more modern high-end card would give some very impressive graphics performance on this system.

2 out of 5 eggsGood when it wants to be!

Pros: 2 PCIE x16

Cons: buggy. sometimes it would work great. Won't recognize 1066 memory, have to manually set that in the Bios

Other Thoughts: I had a weird problem where I would hit the power button and it would power on but not post until I pushed the reset button, then it would post and boot normally. I'm not sure what settings in the bios worked, but i fought for days trying to get the advertised 16 lane PCIE slot (with provided adapter card). all of these 790gx and 785g boards have a processor location closer to the front edge of the board which causes my hdd cables to interfere with my cpu cooler. I was flashing the bios in winxp and i got a BSOD, needless to say trashed my MB now looking for another more reliable board.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It

Pros: Great, Slim, Looks Nice, Love the internal sound! Excellent BIOS!

Cons: It gets pretty crammed when putting 2 graphics cards in. Had to replace my PCI LAN card with a USB LAN because there was no way this motherboard can hold all those PCI cards.

Other Thoughts: Works great!

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate Again

Pros: NONE

Cons: No bios update yet to fix 1066 memory problem. Will not recognize 1066 memory. Bought 1066 memory specifically for this board. System runs very slow. Motherboard has its own moods. Crazy 1 day, calm on another day.

Other Thoughts: Newegg, pull this product from inventory. Board isnt cheap. Specifications mis-leading. Wont do what you advertise. No help from Jetway support.

2 out of 5 eggsSupport

Pros: very complete features

Cons: Jetway service is MIA, I sent an e-mail request for info 5 days ago and no answer so far (I do not feel I will get one ever at this point)
The question was fairly straight foward it was concerning the 8 pin power connector.
Their web site is very incomplete it seems this company is flying by the seat of their pants

Other Thoughts: I will avoid buying from Jetway at this point

2 out of 5 eggsUPDATE!!

Pros: None

Cons: See previous comments

Other Thoughts: Contacted Jetway tech support by email regarding board not recognizing 1066 memory. Tech support responded stating they are aware of the problem and will have new bios out to fix problem, So buyers beware. If anyone else has figured out how to fix please post.

1 out of 5 eggsFustrated

Pros: nice layout great bios features

Cons: well worked great for about a 2 months then all of a sudden i got all sorts of input output erros tried to reinstall vista to no avail could not install service packs of any king the thing would just flip out on errors, internal errors. same with a xp pro install just gave up

Other Thoughts: first time jetway user , went to do a rma and you need to fill out this rediculous exel form and submit it online then after approval they require a $10.00 processing check.. what kind of nonsence is that its a $94.00 board and i have to spend more $$$$ nah i think not ill stick to gigabyte and asus no fees for rma's with these guys!!!! to anyone that reads this , ive been building computers for over 20 years im a m.i.t grad with a masters in hardware engineering listen carefully stay away!!!!!!!!
