Get the power you crave with ASRock's A780GXE ATX motherboard. Ready to support the latest AMD AM2 and AM2+ socket multi-core Phenom processors up to 140W, it features onboard AMD 780G and SB700 chipsets and utilizes Hyper-Transport 3.0 technology to increase data flow. Its ASRock DuraCap feature more than doubles the life expectancy of the board and you won't have to worry about obsolescence as it's AM3 CPU-ready. Pack in the power with 16GB of Dual Channel DDR2 1066 memory.

The integrated AMD Radeon HD3200 graphics supports DirectX 10 and Pixel Shader 4.0 and the graphic capabilities can be expanded with two PCI Express 2.0 x16 cards using ATI CrossFire or Hybrid CrossFireX. The Realtek ALC888 audio chipset delivers 8 channels of HD audio through six audio ports. Connect up to six SATA devices at 3Gb/s for high-speed data transfers as well as the option for multiple RAID configurations.

The external SATA connection allows the same throughput for external devices. Integrated Gigabit Ethernet LAN allows bottleneck-free connections to other network devices at broadband speeds and a half-dozen USB 2.0 ports along with a FireWire connection allow for nearly unlimited possibilities in connecting peripheral devices.

  • newegg AMD K10 Processor Support The ASRock A780GXE/128M supports AM2 AMD processors including the Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64, Athlon FX and Sempron series as well as the latest AM2+ K10 AMD processors.
  • newegg ATI Hybrid Graphics Technology Support Based on ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU technology, ATI Hybrid Graphics allows you to combine the performance of the HD3200 integrated GPU with an applicable ATI Radeon graphics card to bring enhanced gaming performance, productivity and power efficiency.
  • newegg SATA II with RAID Support The second generation SATA interface delivers up to 300MB/sec transfer speed, doubling that of the first generation Serial ATA. The on-board six SATA II ports support RAID 0, 1, 10 and JBOD for better performance, enhanced data security, and flexible capacity upgrades.
  • newegg Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity The ASRock A780GXE/128M features a fast Gigabit network interface for high-speed LAN connections at up to 1000Mbps data transfer rates with advanced security features to ward off malicious attacks. Gigabit LAN is ideal for supercharged seamless streaming of Internet audio and video content.

5 out of 5 eggsMy first of many ASRock boards

Pros: This was my first ASRock board, and I've not bought another brand since.

If you're looking to build a low end/budget PC this would be a great place to start

Cons: none

Pros: it has worked great for me since I bought it in 12/2008 never had any issues at all

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice board, rock solid and well-priced, also has more options that you would expect at this range.

Cons: One PATA really forces you to upgrade to SATA devices.

Other Thoughts: This was quick and easy to install and setup, really no issues to worry about. Onboard video is nice for those who don’t buy it for gaming, but it also has 2 PCIE slots for when you do.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal for the money

Pros: I love this board, has all the bios features you could ask for. I ran the onboard video and could play source based games with hardly any fps problems. coupled with my AMD BE 2.6 athlon x2 it can run most adobe programs with ease. Ran my ddr2 1066 ram great. I haven't had any problems with this card.

Cons: The only con i can think of is this model was made with the ACC(Advanced clocking capabilities), but that is very minor and only applies if you want to get a dual core running as a quad core or want to have each core running at a different speed.

1 out of 5 eggsdisgusted

Pros: Lots of built in connections; am3 ready.

Cons: I bought this board 8-23-09 and had to return it as it was DOA. I should have just got a different board, but I figured it was just a fluke. Today 1-29-10, I turned the computer on and nothing happened. The processor fan works, but I could not get it to boot to bios the first 10 times trying. The 11th time, it started to boot to the bios screen but stopped halfway with 1 very long beep. I had disconnected everything--ram included. Hopefully others who bought this board have more luck than I did!

3 out of 5 eggsWorks ok but with issues

Pros: Cheap, onboard video, fits a phenom processor

Cons: Onboard video is horrible quality and quits working 3-4 times per day. It does recover quickly, but that is because of windows 7.

Other Thoughts: I wish I had spent a little bit more, but I am going to order a PCI-E card anyway

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great But one glich

Pros: It worked well from the very first day i got it! An it still run great, but one problem!

Cons: I used a 7750x2BE on it for most of my time having the board, Then month ago i upgraded to a 965x4BE and they both work fine! The one problem I have is when I put the computer into sleep mode everything shuts off perfectly, but when I wake it from sleep it turns on only with half the performance! From only a fresh restart I get all my performance back and this happens with both CPU's(These are two different generation of CPU's). If i boot it up fresh i can get up to 15500 in scores, but when i wake it up from sleep i get only 8000 in scores and no higher(I also notice the difference in programs, they lag a lot more when you start them up)!

Other Thoughts: If there is a fix Asrock please put it out there! thanks! PS:NO Windows 7 drivers!?!?

2 out of 5 eggsgreat while it lasted

Pros: 2 pcie2.0, eSATA, 6 internal SATA, firewire(1 onboard, 1 header), overclockable, directX 10, radeon hd onboard gpu plays most pre-2007 games at max. settings

Cons: Purchased 4/2009 for $80. After seven months it sometimes would not post or boot up, the power supply turned on and the power LED lit up, but that was it. After I hit the reset button a few times it would boot up. Now after eight months it never boots up at all. I should have noticed there was no manufacturer warranty listed.
