4 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: Booted on first try.Unlike others had no audio issue. Came with oc software which allowed me to run the cpu at 3.0 ghz. Simple set up..my second AsRock build and no initial issues very satisfied with Asrock

Cons: none really..46.00 dollars really has all you need if your no a gamer or overclocker. They could make the manual a bit better

Other Thoughts: Amd Kuma 2.7 ghz
2 gb ddr2
lg blu ray/dvd drive
8400 gs
vista home premium

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Mobo Experience Ever

Pros: Price

Cons: No audio device found. The main problem = the Realtek onboard audio mess. Research found a huge number of problems with Realtek onboard audio. I tried well over a hundred different bios, hardware, & software setting combinations (including fresh XPPro install) and always got same result = NO audio output. Tried everything that ASRock support suggested, even though they offered nothing that was a match to my symptoms (NO audio output) and still exact same result.
Plan on extra $$ for a decent sound card AND one less PCI slot.

Auto-selected Memory speed was wrong -- able to correct in BIOS.

No BIOS setting would allow cpu fan speed control via hardware monitoring & control software. New retail AMD CPU with 4 wire AMD fan -- but no control.

Other Thoughts: Over 80 hrs doing research & troubleshooting trying to get audio to work right. No matter what I tried, still got same result = No Audio Device. There was always Audio Input, that varied greatly depending on the driver used, but NEVER any audio output. Huge software bloat with this Realtek audio = driver dls are about 30 MB and I tried 3 of them (Realtek came out with a new one about every 2 wks). The only Realtek driver that worked right for audio INPUT was the one on the mobo's CD, none of the other driver's downloaded from Realtek would work well at all with Audacity. Every Realtek audio software package I tried seemed to install fine, but the Realtek Audio Manager itself was the most dysfunctional audio software I've ever used. Install of a PCI audio card worked the first try. After this experience, I will always avoid Realtek.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for the money

Pros: cheap, miniatx, instant boot, both SATA and IDE, loads of settings on the BIOS

Cons: not a big complaint, but the manual could be a little more thorough in describing what the front panel header pins are (there's two oddballs that don't match up with my case too well: pwrbtn# and rstswtch#. pretty obvious what they are for, but for a first-time builder i was worried about messing somethin up) but easy enough to guess through and get it right the first time

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but with a problem

Pros: good price, works great but no sound. Tried drivers from site, disabling/enabling, etc. No luck. Like another reviewer, I stopped cursing and bought a 8.00 card. Works fine.

Cons: No sound.

Other Thoughts: Even though this seems to be an overall good card, I would try something else due to the sound problem. Maybe my mistake, but I don't think so.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good!

Pros: So far this baby has been excellent…knock on wood. Stable…drivers loaded perfectly…even the newest ones off of Nvida/Realteks site all run fine. As a pcb designer I liked how they had mounting holes placed around the EIDE connector!

I use if for webbing, mp3 making but also video capture/editing/burning and its worked fine. Also use it for some very heavy duty CAD work and the onboard video handled it fine. Has a PS2 port which I need for my embedded processor work. Using a 2.5G Athlon X2 cpu…. 2G DDR800(it did see it)…SATA drives..and the very nice Rosewill 400W power supply. Good buy!

Cons: Manual was abit sparse vs other boards I’ve used this year.

Other Thoughts: Comes with one SATA cable so remember if you buy OEM drives to get a few more SATA cables!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget board.

Pros: Great budget board. Onboard 6150 handles downloaded video files very well. Have it hooked up to an 19" 1680 x 1050 and plays HD videos smoothly.

Cons: None. Every thing working well.

3 out of 5 eggsGets the job done, minus sound

Pros: Well, it worked with my processor and seems like it's pretty sweet. I couldn't get the onboard sound to work, so bought a $15 5.1 card, beats spending hours troubleshooting.

Cons: Onboard sound didn't work.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent basic board

Pros: It just works. I was going for low price and good gaming performance, and that's exactly what I got out of this motherboard. It worked out of the box with my Phenom-based Athlon 64 X2 7750 Black Edition, 2x2GB Kingston DDR2-800, EIDE 250GB hard drive, and Lite-On SATA burner. It has some basic overclocking options built in - much more than I would have expected from this price range. Handles 95W processors.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard required a CMOS reset before it would POST for the first time, but that's hardly a con. Who knows what the settings were, and how compatible they would be with my exact setup?

5 out of 5 eggsSeems good to me...

Pros: So far, seems like a solid board. I know some people have not had good luck, but so far (4 days), it's been rock-solid for me with an Athlon X2 7750 processor and 2GB DDR2-800. And did I mention IT FLIES. I'm doing major video conversions with it, and it's nearly twice as fast as my other PCs (of course, much of that is the processor, but I've been "torture-testing" it for 4 days now without issue).

Also, I love the smaller size footprint. It still has the Micro-ATX mountings, but this board is smaller than most Micro-ATX's.

And, even in a SLIMLINE case, and at full load, this thing runs cool.

Cons: none so far... (keeping my fingers crossed), except that they keep going out-of-stock. :(

Other Thoughts: I've ordered another, and plan to pair it with a Phenom II to see it take off...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Beginning

Pros: Great fit in discarded mid-tower I picked up at work. Used a 2 GHz Sempron pulled from machine at work in an upgrade (I had a spare DVD-RW drive in a drawer at home). Quick and easy driver installation. POST on first start-up. So I wound up with a nice little basic rig with only the cost of the M/B , 2 gigs of RAM. and a 250 GB SATA HDD! ($119.00 total cost)

Cons: Voltage sensors don't seem to work with SpeedFan. Although the BIOS has some nice bells and whistles, the interface is a little confusing(to me).

Other Thoughts: If it holds up this is a great buy.
