1 out of 5 eggsdo not buy ASRock

Pros: it's a motherboard

Cons: I have owned 3 ASRock motherboards and all of broke... their customer service sucks, if you have a problem go through newegg.

Other Thoughts: newegg is attempting to deal with it for me, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A PRODUCT GO THROUGH NEWEGG FIRST!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Supports newer AM3 CPUs. (Works with Phenom II 555)

Cons: Can't find them now, even on (a popular auction site).

Other Thoughts: Good board, even if it is a couple years old.

5 out of 5 eggsEggcelent board

Pros: For DDR2 memory this board is perfect. First, it is a full ATX board not the accursed "micro" ATX. Thus, you can add cards and upgrade to your heart's content. It includes a PCI express 1X slot for adding Dual Channel DVR tuners. Also, 6 onboard SATAII ports, accepts 4 gig sticks, and has Gig Lan onboard.

Cons: No USB 3 or SATA 3 /600 support, but plenty of room to add a plug in card.

Other Thoughts: The fast boot works great. It takes a little longer to shut down, but the technology really pops you back to a working machine.

4 out of 5 eggsScary good

Pros: Purchased this board back in December, and am now just using it. I put a x6 1090t on the board and 8gb ddr2 1066. The board is easy to set up, laid out quite well, with a lot of options in bios.

Cons: sata 5 and 6 dont work and dont show up in bios, anyone who know how to fix that please post it or if asrock is listening let me know how to enable sata 5 and 6.

Other Thoughts: On average I usually pay 150 to 200 for a board, but when my q6600 died, i didnt want to invest to much in a board and cpu with bulldozer right around the corner. I am not disappointed, with asrock(this from a asus/gigabyte only guy) seems like it should be more expensive.

3 out of 5 eggsSomething fishy about this one.

Pros: I can use my old DDR2 ram on it. Lots of PCI slots. Small. Cheap.

Cons: The CPU socket is too close to the back wall. Not much airflow with a NS-facing fan. The bad part is that the built in sound doesn't work. I tried flashing the bios an fiddling with a million settings, drivers, different OS but nothing worked.

Actually, it just always said it worked, but no sound ever came out. I ended up putting another sound card and using it.

Other Thoughts: Got it open-box and couldn't replace it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Pleased

Pros: This is a great budget board with lots of features not expected on an inexpensive board. I do like the instant boot even though it actually just seems to restart the computer and then put it in sleep mode, and it does take 6 seconds instead of 3-4 even with a pretty stout system. The Bios is very well laid out and easy to use.

Cons: The only con I have had with it is the I/O panel is very cheap and doesn't fit very well. I have had 3 motherboards in this case with no problems but this I/O panel does not line up perfect and makes a couple of the usb ports hard to use (but still usable). I do not consider this a huge problem though since its not seen by anyone but the owner. I guess its just one of the ways they kept the price so low?

Other Thoughts: If your memory speed is 1066 (and you are using a am2+ or am3 processor) you must set the memory to 1066 in bios or it still defaults to 800. No problems with any drivers on windows 7. For the price vs performance and features it gets 5 stars.

Windows 7 x86 ultimate
Phenom II X4 965 3.4 AM3
4gb ddr2 1066
HD 4850

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT BOARD!

Pros: Great board, can do all am2, am3, am3+ up to x6. It also has nvidia core calibration which will unlock your cores. It pretends to turn off and fail. Most of you who have no experience with these new smart boards will get freaked but this is just the way it works, so let it do its thing, have patience and it might unlock your cores. It will freeze so you have to know what you are doing with voltages, but it allows great customization, support, and options.

Cons: INSTRUCTIONS. Okay, great, its in 7 different languages, but it needs more on the bios settings, a guide, and some better info. this isn't the 90s...

Other Thoughts: This is great. Support and updates are great, compatibility so far is great, get it... GET IT!!! :)

3 out of 5 eggsOK Board - K10N78D

Pros: Still uses my DDR2 and can upgrade to a 6 core when prices drop.

Cons: I Have 2 of these and they both Hang up on post if there is a Sata DVD Drive. They seem to have a hard time finding the drives. Take out the Sata DVD drives and they post just fine. Put in an IDE drive and a USB to Sata adapter to use my Sony Blue Ray drive. The Blue Ray drive does not show on post, thus the need for the IDE Drive.

Other Thoughts: The low overall rating due to posting issues. I thought I had a bad board till they both performed the same way. Should not have to use a work around to get to start right up.
