4 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO for the price.

Pros: I was looking to set up a cheap gaming rig when I found this motherboard. It was DOA, so I went ahead and RMA. Nice customer support. The second board worked perfectly and I have yet to have any problems with it.

Cons: First one DOA

Other Thoughts: Set-up:
- This motherboard
- Radeon HD 6750 1 Gb
- 4 Gb Memory
- i3-2100 3.1 GHz
- 630 Watt power supply
- 500 Gb HDD
(I can run Crysis 2 on High settings)

1 out of 5 eggsFurious about CPU Support lies

Pros: Lots of features, decent manual, good looking design with a billion ports.

Cons: Says it supports the Ivy Bridge processors -- DOES NOT.
Only if you upgrade the bios to P2.1.. Well how do you do that? According to ASRock's FAQ #306 you put in a Sandy Bridge CPU and then upgrade the bios to support Ivy Bridge.
I don't even have an operating system yet and they want me to have a different CPU to support my new CPU.

Other Thoughts: No internal IDE port, but has internal LPT? odd.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Due to the mainboard has been released before ivy bridge processor, the BIOS update is needed to recognizing the new processor. Please contact us at 909-590-8308. We can assist you shortly.

Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsThing blew my PSU

Pros: It works with i3, i5, and i7 processors
Sandy bridge
Is a motherboard

Cons: SATA and USB3.0 plugins are very flimsy, and since there's no LED, I needed to have the cords in very precise places otherwise it just wouldn't boot

No troubleshooting in the provided manual. Makes things EXTREMELY difficult to diagnose (such as the above problems)

No LED to tell when there's power (should have looked before buying, that was my bad for assuming it'd have one)

Eventually shorted my PSU (fairly new, worked great with NO problems on my previous mother board)

Other Thoughts: Spend a bit of extra money and get something else. This board is junk, and not worth it.

I really don't know what to say to convince you to get something else. The board worked (barely) for just over two months, so I'm out of the RMA period.

I attempted a second PSU in there and the board wouldn't even boot.

I will be contacting the manufacturer to attempt to either get a new board or refund. And then I need to get another PSU on top of that.

As someone with little money, this is VERY infuriating.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear AsRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with mainboard. For the USB and SATA ports LED, SATA drive activity LED will be shown on system case and some USB devices come with light activity but not mainboard itself. Beside, The PSU is the only providing the power to mainboard and the mainboard would not short the PSU. If you have any technical questions or warranty issues in the future please contact us at user@asrockamerica.com

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood overclocking MB

Pros: If you want to overclock your CPU, this is a good motherboard to have. Plus, the firmware has a more modern UEFI interface.

Cons: The included manual could have been a bit more descriptive about the connector pins on the motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate to my review

Pros: Recent bios update fixed the remote, I can now enable it in the bios.

Cons: Took long for a bios update to fix remote. -1 egg for taking so long.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Board, beyond horrible Customer Service

Pros: Used this on a HTPC build with i5-2405S. Works great i guess, no issues at all minus horrible customer service.

Cons: I chose this board for the included remote/integration, since i would be using this primarily as a htpc. I should have listened to all the negative reviews concerning the remote (most of which just saying it didn't work). After putting the whole computer together, i realized there was no usb infrared receiver included, just the remote. I figured no problem just a error by them and would easily be remedied by sending a receiver. Well i was wrong, the first warning sign should have been you cannot actually CALL or contact ASROCK other than through a email form. Although they responded quickly they told me to rma through newegg. Newegg is obviously understanding and will accept the return, but to take apart the whole computer, ship it back, wait for a new board, etc. for a small usb receiver that they forgot to put in the box is absurd. I have contacted them several times after, and have received no response or resolve to my issue......way to stand behind you product ASROCK :/

Other Thoughts: Should have stuck to the top manufactures msi, gigabyte, asus, etc. where you can ACTUALLY call and speak to a human to resolve your issues.

I fear something going wrong with the board in the next 2 year "warranty" as i could only image how much of a hassle it would be to get a replacement with them.

DON'T BE CHEAP spend the extra $10-20 and get a board from a manufacture that stands behind their products.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for HTPC

Pros: I purchased this board for a Home Theater PC and could not be more pleased. The included remote works well (even with my Logitech universal remote) and leveraging the integrated graphics with an Intel i5 CPU with the onboard HDMI output makes a very nice system!

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great except for remote.

Pros: Works great, lots of features and accessories.

Cons: Remote doesn't work, I made sure the IR was on in the bios, and the usb cable plugged into the special header. The installer just says it can't find the IR device.

Other Thoughts: Bought mine open box, so for 50% savings I'm fine with the remote not working.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board - and yes the remote works

Pros: Parents wanted a new PC so I got this little board that could. Its a small board yet still managed to cram 4 ram slots and a lot of ports and peripherals (7.1 Audio, 4 different display ports, usb 2 & 3). I was concerned at first being able to play bluray using only this board and an i3 2100, but it runs smoothly. The remote is a little tricky to set up, but once you do its great. It even turns on and off the pc with ease. Create a low-privilege account with no password to allow you to enter media center without using a keyboard from a cold boot.

Cons: Little room for PCI-E? I don't really know, I didn't buy a separate graphics card, just relied on the circuits in the i3. But if you wanted to put a lot of big PCIE cards you're sniffing at the wrong mobo.

Other Thoughts: Ok, the remote works you just have to do a little work. Connect the headers as per the mobo manual. Plug in your IR usb connector to the correct USB port (honestly I dislike the way this was done, its a usb stick that isn't actually usb, and you make a usb port that also isn't usb but oh well). Now, run the ASRock included cd, and install all the drivers. I'm pretty sure its the INF or IR or something like that, but I don't remember - just install it all. Reboot, and now tell me if the remote doesn't work. For me the IR / remote stuff didn't even show in Windows till I installed all the drivers from the cd. But once I had done it, it all worked.
