5 out of 5 eggsthis board rocks

Pros: easy over clocking from boot or with included software. xfast USB locks onto your devices and puts them in "turbo" mode. worked first boot and all night so far so good. idea and floppy connector for us with older peripherals.

Cons: none that I can see yet.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Have had no problems at all performance wise.

Cons: The board's slots could be organized better because my cables are a mess inside my case. The case and motherboard don't agree on where the cables should be going.

Other Thoughts: Case: Rosewill Blackhawk

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board for it's price - Always loved ASRock!

Pros: Has IDE controller - did not have to sacrifice old but working DVD burners! Plenty of SATA ports (not uncommon on new boards these days) and great price for its capability and reliability.

Cons: After being able to fix a very unusual issue when I first got the motherboard, NONE!

Other Thoughts: I have always loved ASRock as well as several other motherboard brands. This particular board, however (More accurately the BIOS), gave me a weird issue. I had put the whole machine together as I have many, MANY other desktop computers. When I installed Windows fresh on it everything seemed to go smoothly, until I went to install my graphics drivers. I have a Sapphire ATiRadeon HD 5830 to be exact and had no problems using it in my previous build. I went to install the driver for the card and the driver installed just fine like it always does (Same version driver as before, mind you). Restarted the computer and I was a bit baffled. I could not set AERO and my resolution did not auto switch like it should have by the driver and/or CCC. Checking the device manager I had found there to be two graphics adapters rather than just my 5830 and my 5830 reported a problem as the other adapter was the AMD 760G which is onboard. Wait a tick... this board isn't configured to use the on-chip graphics and there are no outputs to even use it so why am I seeing this? I disabled it in the device manager and rebooted to see what would happen. I was able to set my resolution and my card worked, but I still could not set AERO and the Win7 troubleshooter couldn't detect the problem. Yet, I was able to run all my OpenGL and Direct3D 9, 10 & 11 games. What's going on here? After thinking I might have to return the board I decided to try something. I was on BIOS version 1.20 and ASRock had a newer version (1.50 as of this post) on their page. I decided to give the BIOS update a go and IT WORKED!!! For the record I had tried changing many BIOS settings prior to the update to no avail. I have had no problems since I did the BIOS update so if you run into this the fix is updating your BIOS! Other than that crazy issue I am loving this MB!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, dependable

Pros: Just what I was looking for, too many really to list for the price it is a great pick if your on a budget.

Cons: None really has all the features more expensive boards have for a lot less.

Other Thoughts: can't beat the price, I ran Elder scrolls online without a hitch, installed windows 8 in less then 15 mins I think. I am also running 4.2 ghz, not even over clocked.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly!

Pros: It works great! I'm using an Athlon X2 250 am3 processor on mine and it runs smoothly. My friend has 2 of these motherboards on 2 computer and no complaints whatsoever. He is running a 8 core on one with watercooling and 6 core with the other. So he is the one that made me get it and I am 1000% happy with his and my decision of purchasing this motherboard.

Cons: There was this one time that I got a blue screen while playing Skyrim. Of course, I didn't save at that point. I was just messing with the x boot and seeing what it does so nothing to knock a egg off.

Other Thoughts: If you want a cheap am3+ motherboard, then get this one! I highly recommend it to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value!

Pros: Just what I needed for my windows 8 duel monitor touch screen system upgrade. Great Value for what you get. Easy to install and great layout. The extra boost software is nice, I originally was skeptical about its promised features. But the software did increase my hardware performance. Its software was also lite which means no extra junk ware. All in all great value for a top end single graphic card machine.

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: Only thing is the lack of heat sinks over capacitors next to CPU. I am not using this to overclock much. I do not see it having any issues with heat at all.

5 out of 5 eggsbetter than expected

Pros: I needed to replace an aging ATX AM2 motherboard with faulty SATA for my WHS 2011, so I did a search for new AMD motherboards with IDE and Floppy (I know, it's silly but I'm an old PC tech and it comes in handy when all else fails) and this was the only one that came up, the price was right plus it totalled out to have eight SATA, two v3.0 and six v2.0 so that was even better for a home server. Although it's just a low end enthusiast MB with no onboard video, it works quite well since I have plenty of low end GPU cards laying around. Plus, PS/2 for my old KVM and serial for the odd device control from the server.

I was expecting bare bones features on this budget board but was really impressed with the AS Rock auto overclocking - just press X at boot! it turned my Athlon II X3 2.9ghz into a Phenom II X4 3.1ghz and a stock cooler with absolutely no issues. This is usually an ordeal on my current Asus and Gigabyte motherboards. VERY NICE.

Cons: not really a con on the product just a caution. I bought this with the intention of using an Athlon X2 7750 which doesn't work on some of my older AM2 boards, but I forgot pay attention to the CPU support list, it's AM3+ and up only, so you'll need at least an Athlon II. luckily I was able to swap the X3 and 7750 into an AM3 (not +).

Other Thoughts: why do all the bundled motherboard utilities look so bad? this goes for every MB maker. that being said, don't install everything off the disk, just the network driver, and maybe ASRock tune program to see fans and temps, etc. everything else can be done in the BIOS.

1 out of 5 eggsGood features, while it lasted.

Pros: Has all the right features you could ask for in a cheap board with the exception for the basic audio.

Cons: I have had the board for 6 months or so now. There are 2 big issues with the board that have really annoyed me. The audio from the motherboard is shot, there is a constant buzzing coming from it (I'm using the logitech Z-906 speakers) and I have to use optical audio though my monitor which gets HDMI from my video card. The second problem which is the big one is that the memory slots are going out. I have 16GB (4x4GB) or Ripjaws X 1866, nothing fancy but it now bluescreens atleast 3 times a day. The memory I know is fine because of testing on another system. I tried to RMA the board with ASRock but would never get a response back from them and have simply given up.

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice for ASRock to atleast get back to me and the board could really use better audio, give it 5.1 guys!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Features for the money

Pros: Good feature for the money, forward thinking with backwards compatibility. Has Floppy port (really in this day and age) IDE connector and 8 SATA ports 2 of which are 6GBs and use a separate controller. Basically works fine now I have finally discover the SATA 3 ports have been randomly bad since I got the board. I even RA 2 Samsung SSD as they did not work in this board. I finally tracked it down when the Hard Drive on one odf the Sata 3 ports disappeared after 20 mins.

Cons: Providing SATA 3 ports to be used as boot drives with the ports going AWOL randomly is not good. This is my 4th ASROCK board and the only one I have had issues with.

Other Thoughts: Not recommended if you intend to use the2 sata 3 6 GBs ports . Otherwise a good basic board for a good basic PC let down by build quality. It is a pain to RA the board for 2 sata ports.
