5 out of 5 eggsSolid for the price

Pros: Very solid motherboard for the price. I know it's an older platform and didn't have usb 3.0 support but it still worked great. I bought this board for an i5-3470 i had from an older HP workstation to be able to expand better in terms of hardware capability and case limitations from HP. I would buy this again since i have another i5-3470 cpu for most likely a homebrew router setup.

Cons: I didn't like the placement of the fan headers and other connections. I feel like they could of been placed better but that doesn't mean they were placed wrongly either. The SATA connectors felt like they might break off too with the supplied SATA cables since they were pretty stiff.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure there's a ton of more detail i could go off about but i really just set it up and forgot about it really, i had it on almost 24/7 with no issues at all. I used this machine to play my steam games, file share server, work on multiple virtual machines. This board had a lot of resources always being used from it and it's never caused me any troubles where i had to even think about it. this experience caused me to buy an asrock extreme6 z97 board.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for my purposes

Pros: The board was cheap and worked out of the box with Ubuntu server. Pretty much all I asked of it.

At the time of purchase, this was the lowest priced Mini ITX motherboard with a LGA 1155 socket and four SATA ports. Both of which I needed.

Chipset etc didn't require special drivers to work in Ubuntu Server 64bit.

Cons: Nothing really, the packaging leaves something to be desired.

As with all Mini ITX boards that use normal sized memory DIMMS, the board gets cramped quickly and installing a large heatsink can be a total pain.

Other Thoughts: This system was setup for a webserver/FTP so nothing to exciting

Intel Core i3
this motherboard
32GB SSD from Zalman
and a 500GB WD Black Edition for large files.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect cheap board for SFF

Pros: Has everything you need to build up a good SFF case. Booted up instantly and was up and running in less than 20 minutes for a total computer build. Pretty fast and easy. Has the MOBO power connection at the top where I wanted it.

Cons: Wish they had a model with USB 3.0 rear connections. Don't really care because it is a living room build up.

Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd ASRock board and I am thrilled to say it was just as easy to get going as my last. Took 20 minutes max for this thing to get from the packaging to a running computer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat reliable no frills MOBO for the price

Pros: Feels well built for a mini ITX

Cons: read everyone elses' cons about not having enough expansion ports, limit on fan headers, memory limit, etc. Do you homework before buying a board, esp. by going to manufacturer's website and reading specs about memory and CPU compatiblility, and reading other review sites (not just newegg) on what you are about to purchase

Other Thoughts: I used this MOBO in a small LianLi case, and the machine was to be used as a network video recorder to record several IP cameras footage. Popped in a 3TB HDD for video storage and a smaller 120GB SSD for the OS, and this thing runs great with a i5-3470 and 8GB RAM for its purpose.

Only things plugged in are a cat6 cable and the power cable, and it been running strong for well over a year now, running 24x7 as a NVR appliance.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid motherboard for the price

Pros: Supports Ivy Bridge out of the box
ITX Form Factor
4 SATA ports
Onboard HDMI and VGA
Priced extremely well

Cons: No USB3
16GB max RAM
Of course, these are all limitations of the H61 chipset which I knew going into it.
Only 2 fan headers (1x CPU, 1x additional) - Would have liked a third.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board to go with an i3-3240 that I picked up for a home server, primarily for backups and serving media. My only hard requirements were a budget board from a reliable brand that supported Ivy Bridge and had HDMI for when I re-purpose it as an HTPC later on.

Build quality is excellent for the price, better than you'd find on a board from a competing budget brand like Biostar or ECS. All of the limitations on the board are due to the H61 chipset and the form factor preventing ASRock from implementing additional features, which helps keep cost low.

I would have liked to see an extra fan header on the board, and a single PS/2 port rather than 2 to conserve space, and potentially add something like DVI. All in all, great board for a great price, I don't anticipate any issues from it, ASRock has always been a solid brand.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Motherboards

Pros: I've used four of these for assorted XenServer / ESXi / Hyper-V servers (1U / mini-towers) with quad gigabit intel NICs, and these things blow me away. (built a home lab with these)

VT-D works wonderfully, all of the visualization software works out of the box.
I've used a few different CPU's with these boards, to include: 2600k, G1610, 3330s, and G540. Each has worked fantastically.

The Network BIOS updating feature is a favorite.
To get Windows Deployment Services running properly, I had to add the Ethernet Drivers to my image, but that's to be expected.

Cons: I wish that the integrated NIC was Intel, and higher performing, but.... at this price point? I love everything.

Other Thoughts: If you're building a home lab, this board, a $40 celeron, 2*8GB sticks of memory, and a nice NIC goes a LONG way.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid but basic.

Pros: It works well and it's quite inexpensive.

Cons: It's very basic. No USB 3, SATA 3 or digital audio outs besides HDMI. No built in WIFI either but for this price you really can't expect WIFI.

Other Thoughts: It makes a solid HTPC board where you don't need the fast storage options of SATA / USB 3. While I wouldn't mind a SPDIF out so my TV didn't have to be on to play music it's not that big of an issue.

Using it with an i5-3750K but it unfortunately has no ability to OC at all.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this little board!!!

Pros: Great little board that has not been crowded with features or a complex bios. This is great for just about anyone wanting something small and fast! Everything I throw in it, it usually picks up well and runs with it. Including my I7, Samsun SSD, R9280x and 16GB RAM from Crucial (LP)

I have had absolutely no issues with this board and will probably start using this in all my ITX builds, unless I need a different socket of course.

Cons: ZERO!!!

Other Thoughts: Some people will be sad/frustrated it doesn't have all the bells and whistles. This makes it a much better fit for the budget conscious that wants rock solid performance!

If you are thinking about this board and you don't need OC or USB 3, go ahead and buy this guy!

4 out of 5 eggsASRock delivers again

Pros: $50 for entry to 1155 mITX form factor; mine shipped with the latest P1.1 BIOS revision (Ivy Bridge compatible out of the box); ASRock is more reliable than ECS and cheaper than Asus.

Cons: Warranty is for 1 year only.

My biggest complaint about the components on this motherboard is the PCIe latch - it's just a cheap plastic tab which breaks easily. ASRock can spend a few extra pennies to put in a real latch.

The motherboard did not boot up the first time with both DIMM slots populated. I was confused, but it finally booted up after I tried a single DIMM slot. After that first time, dual worked fine. I am still confused, but if yours doesn't boot, try a single DIMM slot.

Other Thoughts: My previous main PC had the ASRock H61-MVS motherboard, which I found on sale. I used that motherboard for a year and never had problems. I figured I would give the "MV" line a shot again (the "V" stands for value), and I am happy I did. I can't say how the long term reliability will be, but it works for now.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Price, Size and Features. Runs WAY faster than the dell board it replaced.

Cons: Only two Dimm slots.

Other Thoughts: Got this to replace a dell motherboard with a bad disk controller. This made a HUGE difference in performance and boot times of Windows 7. I knew good quality motherboards helped with reliability and longevity, but was surprised to see an outright performance gain. This was my first ASRock board, I'll definitely try another.
