AM1H-ITX What you've never understood about your computer is that it is scared to death of water, H2O, humidity or whatever you'd like to name it. And even though you do not see the water, actually there may be lots of excessive moist in the air killing your motherboard silently and slowly. No, your motherboard doesn't melt when in contact with water like the wicked witch of the west, but it dies of short circuit. Luckily, ASRock has a new High Density Glass Fabric PCB design that reduces the gaps between the PCB layers to protect the motherboard against electrical shorts caused by humidity.

In a world where time is money, why waste precious time everyday typing usernames to log in to Windows? Why should we even bother memorizing those foot long passwords? Nobody has time for that! Just plug in the USB Key and let your computer log in to windows automatically!
AM1H-ITX Easy Driver Installer

For users that don't have an optical disk drive to install the drivers from our support CD, Easy Driver Installer is a handy tool in the UEFI that installs the LAN driver to your system via an USB storage device, then downloads and installs the other required drivers automatically through the Internet. Completely no CD or optical disk drive required!
AM1H-ITX AM1H-ITX Dehumidifier

Dampness kills most electronics, so it's a better idea to keep your personal computer dry. Now users may prevent motherboard damages due to dampness by enabling Dehumidifier. When it is enabled, the computer will power on automatically to dehumidify the system after entering S4/S5 state.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board except for a mysterious glitch

Pros: I have this thing running completely passive. It replaced an aging i7 920 that i never gamed on any more. Im loving the power savings so far.

Cons: Mysterious Glitch: After having it for a few months a glitch appeared where mousing over something caused a scrolling effect just like the mouse wheel was being scrolled. This was very annoying because mousing over youtube videos would turn the volume all the way down and mousing over VLC would turn it all the way up. Installing programs was near impossible because language selection boxes and other parameters would auto scroll all the way down when the window was highlighted. I tried everything that I could possibly think of to stop it: reinstalling drivers, replacing both mouse and keyboard, changing Win10 registry settings for scrolling, changing bios settings, reinstalling windows, trying different USB ports, and many more. In the end I tried one last thing: I unplugged the external USB 2.0 ports from both USB2_3 and USB4_5 and the glitch finally disappeared.

Other Thoughts: I still recommend this board despite the potentially faulty USB headers. Im not astute enough in IC troubleshooting to know why it occurred, it may have been a bad component or a bad ground. Ill never know, but for now I'm satisfied just using the back panel USB ports.

5 out of 5 eggsLow power, Easy setup, decent options

Pros: -Super low power if you have a 19V adapter lying around
-Driver support is decent, even for windows 10
-Supports AMD's adorable abandoned kitty cores

Cons: -Somewhat expensive compared to competing products (AM1 boards)
-It would have been nice to have a wifi chip already installed
-Not really able to overclock...much

Other Thoughts: -Totally would recommend this as a terminal, or basic PC for anyone
-Dont expect gaming performance, I dont use the PCI-e slot but ive ddr 1600 in there and it runs just fine.
-With the top end Athlong 5350 8GB of ram (remember, its single channel only!!!!!) and an SSD, this little kitten purrs.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for my needs

Pros: Well laid out. Perfect for an HTPC/Kodi build. Dual power options makes this perfect for small cases. Runs Windows 10 like a champ.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Paired with a 5350, an 8gb stick of RAM, and an ssd. Everything fits nicely into an Antec ISK-110 that's mounted behind my TV. Cool, quiet, and low power makes this a win in my book.

2 out of 5 eggswas ok for about 13 months

Pros: worked well when it worked, did what i need it to do which was mostly a fancy file server

Cons: Driver support was a pain in the backside.
Windows 2008 server had no drivers for usb 3.0 drivers (had to hack some together myself)
After about 13 months it stopped being responding on the network... I took me a few weeks to get some time to get to it and see what it's problem was...
I open the case and had to hold my nose.
Looks like the component marked "3r3 351 cjk" burned up pretty bad. i'm glad there wasn't any source of fuel around because it got hot enough to desolder it's self from the board. So it burnt it's self up...
To bad that it's just outside of it's warranty period.

Other Thoughts: there doesn't seem to be a lot of choice when it comes to ITX AM1 boards... but I might look to MSI it's cheaper and hopefully won't burn it's self up.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Cory,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Unfortunately, the board does not support drivers for Server OS, but Windows XP/7/8/10.
The supported drivers can be download at link below.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but not great!

Pros: Cheap.. Excellent HTPC, I have 2 of them with the Minibox case..

Cons: The USB ports are finicky.. especially installing Windows 7. put your wired keyboard and mouse on the left side of the back panel.. the 3.0 ports aren't good until installing AMD update.
You have to use a SSD mounted under a bracket.. and the power jacks don't fit well,,

Other Thoughts: I would recommend it... but, the 19v DC jack? make sure you have the right jack.. Give yourself some time to figure the power stuff out..

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Motherboard

Pros: Excellent board. Great fit, finish. No problems during install physically or adding parts. Bios is fantastic. Flashing bios to newest version could not have been easier. Ethernet connection and go. Fantastic.

* has a mini slot for a laptop wireless card. Wish I would have noticed before buying a usb dongle.

Cons: None that I can think of. The faceplate tabs were a little off during fitment but a quick slight push during seating and all was good. However, the faceplate hole for the onboard psu is slightly off but no biggie.

Other Thoughts: Excellent board. Would recommend at retail $. Will be jumping on as many as i can find if they go on sale to $30-40 range.
