PNY has leveraged their experience in other computer products to launch a line of motherboards. This nVIDIA based board has an nForce 630i MCP and a GeForce 7150 GPU. It supports FSB speeds up to 1333MHz and CPUs from the Celeron to the Core 2 Quad giving you great versatility in system builds.

Thanks to the nForce chipset and the 4 SATA II ports you can set up a RAID array for your storage needs. The 630i supports RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1 and 5, so you have plenty of choices of speed versus data security. There is 1 PATA port for legacy drives, or optical drives if you have hard drives on all the SATA ports.

The nVIDIA chipset and GPU also allow things like nView multi-display technology and CineFX 3.0 video processing. You also get native Gigabit Ethernet and High Definition Audio (HDA) support built in. HDA gives you 32-bit audio quality for exceptional sound reproduction.

3 out of 5 eggsECS mobo

Pros: All the goodies. Fairly stable. HDMI and VGA.. Dual monitors work properly. Vista runs smooth.

Cons: Packaging is garbage. Extra components are non existant. You get one IDE cable and a manual and cd. Not even a single SATA cable. Ordered 12 of these motherboards to find out i had no sata cables. Very annoying.

Other Thoughts: Identical to the ECS 630i. All the components, capacitors, chips are in the exact same setup. Looks to be like it was designed and manufactured in the same factory but finished as a different brand.

1 out of 5 eggsSuspected DOA

Pros: none so far.

Cons: Appears to be DOA, although I'm not 100% certain. The motherboard was encased in a plastic box inside a flimsy cardboard box. There was no anti-static bag to keep the motherboard safe from static discharge. PNY tech support gave me an initial quick reply with a bunch of moronic suggestions (make sure power wires are plugged into motherboard; try CPU and RAM in another computer if you have one; try another monitor), but I replied 5 days ago now (4 if you don't count Sunday) and have yet to hear a response. I will be calling them tomorrow. Their number is not listed on their website, so if anyone else runs into this problem here's their number: 1-800-234-4597.

Other Thoughts: Purchased a new PSU, CPU, RAM and this motherboard to upgrade my computer. I don't have another computer to test the CPU and RAM in, so I guess it's possible that the CPU or BOTH RAM sticks are DOA. With no RAM installed, the motherboard will slowly beep on and off. When the RAM is installed, there are no beeps at all, nothing on the monitor, and I have to unplug the computer to get it to turn off. PNY tech support couldn't even tell me what that meant according to the beep codes. IMO PNY should stick to RAM and leave motherboards to the big boys.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Fast helpful customer support from PNY as long as you provide enough details to them. Deemed the mobo DOA. Thank you Newegg for having such a friendly return policy. (minus the shipping to return the item)

Cons: With this motherboard i also purchased 11 other items of different name brands and PNY was the only one to fail. "instruction manual" was one sheet of paper quick walking through how to shove components into your board.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat lil mobo

Pros: Great motherboard. BIOS are fine I guess. I didn't try to overclock anything however. Everything ran fine for a the first few weeks.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that a few weeks after buying this mobo my onboard LAN stopped working. It gives both green and orange lights. BAD...

Fixed it with a wireless adapter though...

Other Thoughts: Good motherboard, no real problems. Probably just an isolated issue. The computer was sitting in my garage unplugged for about a month. Bad grades, got grounded... Anyway, I only bought this board because my previous one burnt out and I needed one fast. Got the cheapest I could afford.
