Needed Angle Grinder
Pros: Haswell support. Everything fit properly--power connectors, heatsink, etc--except the case.
Cons: Supermicro completely changed the I/O back plane on these boards. I had been pairing the CSE-510-200B case with X9SCM-F-O Ivy Bridge motherboards. The CSE-510 isn't "optimized" for the X9SCM, but it fits and the Ivy Bridge E3-1230v2 chips run incredibly cool even with all cores at full-throttle--max power draw is less than most servers at idle.

so far so good
Pros: paired it with an E3-1220v3 and 32gb ram for a multi-array storage server- 2 IBM M1015 reflashed controllers with 8 drives ea, 6 drives on the native sata, using ZFS. bonded the gigabit ports and it has great thruput for serving an avid workstation.
Cons: didn't really run into any cons. everything worked right off the bat.
