Foxconn's A79A-S ATX motherboard delivers powerful computing and graphics. Based on AMD's 790FX and SB750 chipsets, it is ideal for the home or business user who relies on top video performance. Certified for Windows Vista, it supports AMD's AM2 Phenom multi-core processors as well as all other socket AM2 CPUs. Up to 8GB of DDR2 memory can be installed with dual channel support to power through complex operations and Hyper Transport 3.0 technology massively increases the CPU bandwidth at lower power levels for cooler operation.
Four PCI Express 2.0 slots support CrossfireX technology to deliver maximum horsepower to challenging graphics challenges. The results can be delivered via optical or coaxial outputs. Top-notch graphics require equally powerful audio, so the onboard Realtek ALC888SDD chipset delivers 8 channels of audio with support for DTS Connect and Dolby Digital Live along with the ability to split two different sound sources.
A FireWire and six USB 2.0 ports give you the flexibility to expand and enhance your system while the SATA and eSATA connectors let you achieve high-speed data transfers with no bottlenecks. Integrated Gigabit Ethernet LAN lets you connect to other systems on your network at broadband speeds.
Pros: Tons of USB connections, has the new SB, allows for Raid 5
Cons: Some pretty severe BIOS problems. 1. Doesn't like to recognize a bunch of new memory at once. If doing a brand new build with this mobo, just a add a single stick, go into the bios, save, and exit (don't need to change anything), you can then add the rest of your memory. The symptom is that the system halts, you don't get a splash screen or a post screen. 2. Nice POST 80 readout. But Foxconn neglects to document what each code means 3. USB support is dicey. System halts on boot if my Dell 2407WFP is plugged in. But, if I enter the bios, then plug it in, then exit without saving, windows will boot, everything works fine. 4. Doesn't recognize my Razer Copperhead mouse on boot. default is to halt boot without a mouse.
Other Thoughts: Support is a joke. Link to forums is broken. Link provided from FoxOne update to support is broken. Manual is little better than the the moral equivalent of a picture of board.
I'm hoping this will be fixed with an update, but of course since you can't give them feedback, its difficult to believe that they are aware of the problems...

Strange PCI-E setup

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Great for tweaking, overclocking, lots of features
Cons: Weird design for crossfire. 1st and 4th slot work at X16, while 2nd and 3rd at X8. The crossfire cable that comes with videocard is not long enough to connect videocards installed in slots 1 and 4, therefore, I am stuck with X8 speed, unless I buy longer crossfire cables (and so far I had no luck finding ones, even at newegg).
Other Thoughts: Given weird PCI-E layout FOXCONN absolutely must bundle long crossfire cables with the motherboard.
Do not buy this card if you want to use crossfire or upgrade to crossfire in the future, because your $ spent on powerful videocards would be a waste of money. Find another motherboard instead.

Pros: this board was easy to set up. had not problems seting up windows 7 in raid 0.. sata ports are arkward. PCI express 16x crossfire is also arkward 1st port and 4 port are 16x. 2 16x and 2 8x pci express ports. overall layout of the board i would rate on a 1-10 scale would be an 8. memory had no problem with 8 gig of ram to install windows Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 all 4 sticks had no problem with the install
Cons: awkward pci express slots and sata ports.
Other Thoughts: very good price for the money and the board is an easy install would high recommend this board

FoxConn Support not good, get a Clue

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: For the $ this mobo has all the right specs, 790FX NB, SB750, 4 x PCIE 2.0 x 16<-- try to find another board in this price range with these specs, GL! AM2+/AM2, and not listed but this board is AM3 compatible as well! Again, find a board with these Specs in this Price Range, won't happen!
I bought this board in June, along with a AMD X2 7750 BE. I personnaly love it. I have my Kuma OCed for stock 2.7 to 3.4GHz and haven't even barely touched the voltage. Prob could go a little higher but I like the way it runs, and why mess with a good thing!
I have read some complaints on Foxconn Support, r u FREAKING kidding me. I had some issues w/ my OCZ Fatal1ty 1066MHz not running at 1066MHz, Called in 2 times, spoke 2 the same tech both times and we couldn't troubleshoot it over the phone, he sent it to another dept, the replicated my build and figured out the prob! How is that for support? About as Top-Notch as I have EVER Heard of! I was rediculously inpressed with that effort
Cons: Had some early issues with the RAM, but taken care of! I paid $120 for this board and it is down to $90! Wasn't Free when i bought it????
I would pay $120 again for this board all day, every day! Is that a con????
Other Thoughts: Foxconn Support - 20 out of 10
You can't even get close to the features offered by Foxconn on this board @ my price, and especially not at the current $90!
Buy it, you won't be upset! Also, if you are a beginner @ OverClocking, the mobo comes with OverClocking Software called FoxOne, makes it real easy to learn, then once you find setting you like, you can then learn how to OC in BIOS instead! It is a more simple program than AMD OverDrive for beginners!

Pros: Board has a ton of features. Had absolutely no problems getting my system set up and working. Has been working reliably on my main system for 7ish months now.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: Can't really comment on overclocking as I haven't tried that yet.
