- Pros: Easy install and configuration. Updated BIOS and had no problem unlocking 4th core of Phenom II X3 720. Excellent MB for the money.
- Cons: None
Good Deal, 790GX is great!
- Pros: Onboard video came in quite handy when existing video card bit the dust and we had to wait a couple days for a replacement. G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 worked fine with this mobo and posted with a x4 620 first try.
- Cons: Adapter needed for e-Sata, i put this as a con because some other vendors combine the e-sata bracket with a 4 pin molex when they use a bracket adapter, would have been nice to have for powering external HD's on the fly, instead it just seems like the lazy way to say your mobo has e-Sata
- Other Thoughts: Overall great value board, and the 790GX really impressed, i've seen laptops with the 780g and they can show some signs of weakness when using 3D apps. Would have been nice to see 2 more usb ports of another LAN on the back panel but for the price it's hard to get that picky.
BEWARE
- Pros: AM3 socket
- Cons: Will not support 1333MHz, only 1066MHz (OCZ has an entire forum section related to this board). This board isn't any better than the previos versions, the only differences are that it is an AM3 board that offers DDR3 support.
- Other Thoughts: I have contacted OCZ and Foxconn about this. OCZ helped a lot with this problem but it came down to the board. Foxconn support is a JOKE! I will never buy from them again.
