5 out of 5 eggsBoard is Functional and Rebate is Legit...

Pros: It's a basic replacement board for anyone needing to keep their PGA775 CPU. I had no problems with the board whatsoever when installing this for a customer. Four months later, I'm replacing a bad stick of RAM for the same customer but the board is running strong.

Cons: None for the advertised feature set vs. cost...

Other Thoughts: I got my rebate check in today (11-10-2011) and I sent it off in July. It took roughly four months but it happened. I know this product is deactivated but someone may read these to see about how Zotac honors their rebates and how long it may take...

5 out of 5 eggsPerfectly Fine MB

Pros: Easy to work, runs fine

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't understand why some people rated this product low. For less than $50, this works perfectly fine to replace my burned MB of HP Slimline, which lasted less than a month over HP's 1-year warranty and HP refused to do anything to help me. All you need to do is to remove your memory and CPU to this broad. Plugging in all the necessary connections, it just runs like new. For those claiming DOA, how can you be so sure it's the problem of the MB? If you want a low-cost, basic computing solution, I cannot see anything better this. Go Zotac!

3 out of 5 eggsMyBad

Pros: This motherboard could be considered Fantastic in a few situations.

Cons: It does need a ton of 5v power and my seasonic ss12, antec 380d, silverstone 400, and cosair all failed to run it (even boot it!) Problem solved with 10 year old P.C.P.&C. or a early model Rosewill value series PS.

Other Thoughts: If you had odds and ends laying around, mainly a old PS with mid 20s or so in 5v power. This board makes a sweet little itx box for Light users.

3 out of 5 eggsGood board for media server

Pros: This has turned out to be a great board for my needs. I am using it as a NAS.

Cons: Why does the on board NIC only rated at 100 Mbps? With 3Gbps SATA, the NIC is completely useless. Wish I had read the specs closer or I wouldn't have gotten this. Instead I ended up getting an Intel PCI-E NIC.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Small Board

Pros: Good quality small board, with minimum frills. Very good for a small system. Quiet, started right away with no issues. Plenty of USB ports, and SATA ports. The lack of multiple I/O keeps the costs down. The onboard video is good, as is the audio.

Cons: The CPU fan is fixed speed, not automatic - must be set by the user in the BIOS. The CPU power limit is 65 Watts - that is enough for a 3ghz Dual core Intel.

Other Thoughts: None

1 out of 5 eggsMotherboard

Pros: Really i needed a board to build a theatre computer. You need to work out all the kinks with this board

Cons: ethernet did not work drivers are out of date way out of date. Had a hard time trying to set this one up ended up buying a Gigabytee board as this one sucked

Other Thoughts: could have put a little more thought into this board i think they were hanging around and they said hey let`s sell this garbage

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Kenny44,
I'm sorry that your have been inconvenienced by one of our motherboards. However, the latest driver updates are always featured on the website and are easily accessed. Once again, I apologize for this inconvenience.

4 out of 5 eggsI'm Dissapointed And I Love Zotac

Pros: It's a cheap mini ITX mobo and a good cheap replacement but don't look for any performance and mine came DOA. I really love Zotac products and have built many small cube computers and HTPCs with their boards both AMD and Intel and they are really good boards. No customer complaints or problems except for one RMA after about 1 year on a board.

Cons: This board came DOA and I have to do a product return to Newegg even though they make the process pretty painless. I also hate to pay the return shipping which will be about $7 or $8 USPS. I'm just glad I didn't clilp the label off the box yet but I learned that lesson long ago. Anyway, I tried the original E7300 cpu that I was going to use when it wouldn't POST I tried a E7400 and a E7500 all with the same results. Different memory didn't help at all either, it's dead. Plus, believe it or not, it has one usb port on the board! Common, I've bought dirt cheap nothing boards that had at leat two usb ports.

Other Thoughts: So this is a economy mini ITX board, what would it cost to add another USB port, 5 cents? I mean common, you drop one more port in the motherboard holes, everything is already there for a second one so what's the big deal? When I get the new board back from Newegg I'm going to test it to make sure it works and then it's going on the "If Come What Maybe Shelf" and I may never use it at all.

2 out of 5 eggsPotential problem child

Pros: Fairly cheap and small

Cons: POST with a P4 640 processor that isn't mine but won't POST with the P4 Dual Core E6600 that I originally purchased. Since that processor isn't listed as a tested and verified processor I purchased a Celeron E3300 that was listed as a compatible CPU but it won't POST with that processor either. *** If you can swap the CPU quickly then it will boot with either of these after using the 640 but after it sits without power very long it will no longer POST. Installed Windows and ran it for 2 days without issue but as soon as I removed power for any length of time I had to replace the CPU with the 640 again and repeat the process.

Trying to RMA the board but between zotacusa being down for nearly two days and now the RMA page gives me an 'SQL table not found' error I'm still waiting something from Zotac so I can RMA the board. Can't return it to the Egg as I already ripped off the UPC to get a rebate.

Other Thoughts: Nothing fancy but that's not what I bought it for. Really thinking I'd have bought another board if I knew it was going to be this much trouble. I've had a 6 or 7 Zotac products in the past and I've never had any trouble out of them but the issues here are really starting to stack-up and it's getting old real fast.

Not calling anyone a liar or anything but I'm not sure where the +5V 20A is coming from. I can't find that requirement anywhere and the PSU that I'm using is only good for 15A. I tried using a 700W PSU good for 30A and it still wouldn't boot unless I used the 640 and swapped to the other PSU quickly. The 640 is more power hungry than the Pentium E6600 and the 15A PSU runs the 640 fine and while I was running the the E6600 it wasn't troublesome until I removed power for an extended time.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,
I'm sorry to hear that you had problems with an RMA on our site. Understandably, our site was recently down for a 24-hour period for changes. However, our RMA page is now up and running. Furthermore, I would recommend that you contact our RMA department at rma@zotacusa.com as it may be possible to expedite the process. Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

2 out of 5 eggsAn ansswer to an unasked question

Pros: a moderately priced way to dip your toe in the shallow end of the mini-ITX pond; respectable performance from Win7 on dual-core Celeron E3300 EMT64 w/ 1GB of DDR2.

Cons: Bought as an evaluation unit, evaluation is done so now it sits in a box on a shelf. if you're planning to use mini-ITX case + P/S, 5VDC@20A requirement almost guarantees you will buy a new P/S, so why not just buy a higher-end board that'll use your existing case + P/S in the first place? Or, if space isn't an issue and you can use ATX P/S, may as well go microATX for more features, better selection and lower pricing (which is what I am doing); only slot is PCI-e x1; after 22 weeks STILL NO REBATE! Let's admit it: that offer is a gimmick, nothing more.

Other Thoughts: Even if the rebate wasn't utter fiction, I can't see the value proposition for this board
