Here's a video card for the gamer, engineer or artist with high standards. Using a Radeon X1900GT processor clocked at 500 MHz with 12 pixel pipelines, 256 MB GDDR3 memory; this is a lively and responsive display board.

It has two DVI connectors (with two adapters so it can be used on VGA-style monitors), and an integrated TV encoder putting out HDTV or S-Video. It supports Cross-Fire (so make certain your power supply can handle it!), VIVO, and features PCI Express support to keep up with that GPU; it's Vista ready and can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600.

4 out of 5 eggsGood performer, but hot as H$!!

Pros: Good performer, good price with rebate (when I ordered anyway).

Cons: This thing runs hot when gaming and the fan is loud and not very good at cooling the card.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this be prepared to buy an aftermarket cooler such as the EVERCOOL EC-VC-RHC which under load keeps this beast under 75

5 out of 5 eggsHaven't even began to touch what this card with do

Pros: So far so good. Car runs well, drivers installed and updated from the Saphire site with no problems. Runs whatever I throw at it with ease. Haven't even been able to push it hard yet, but I bet it will take it.

Cons: Not a DX 10

Other Thoughts: I like the great cooling on this card. One of the better heat sinks (copper!) that I've seen. Card is BIG and HEAVY but fits very easily into my case setup (Rosewill R5601) with a Gigabyte MB and Arctic Cooling Pro 7.

Make sure you have a PS that can handle the load.

I'm looking to dual moniter this thing and push it some in the days ahead.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the Price

Pros: Running an E6300 at Default clocks now with 9-3-3-3 1T RAM timings I can get a score of 4491 in 3DMark 06 with the card O/C to 580-702. By default the clocks on this card for 2D and 3D are 500 and 600 although ATI Tools reads them at a little under.
With ATI Tools you can modify the GPU and Memory Voltages and O/C with this card. Not sure on x50s
It has a nice solid copper cooler that certainly adds weight to the card. Default fan speed is at 2700RPM. At this RPM at Idle it reads GPU 53C and Ambient 40. I tweak the fan with ATITOOL to run at 100% or 6100RPM all the time. This gets me GPU 47 ambiant 37 at idle and 67/44 at loads in looping 3DMark. The highest I can recall was GPU in the 70s I don't think it broke 80C at any ambient temps. This is on par with previous other Nvidia cards I have owned.
It has VIVO which is why I picked it over the X1950.xx series. This model is probably soon to discontinue. Its RED and Cheap!

Cons: It does have the R580XL bios so a no go for unlocking any extras. Cooler type doesn't vent heat outside the case. Slight flicker during POST, fan at full speed would be too loud for most probably insufficient on 2D and speed stepping. Assume it would run rather hot under insufficient case/room temps. Those people may want to consider Thermaltake or Aerocool for noise conditions at Full output.
Needs a high end CPU to get most out of it. Catalyst Drivers are iffy. I'm more Nvidia and they seem to lead in the market right now with better product like 8800GT 320M for the Price.

Other Thoughts: I've had this X1900GT for about 10 days now purchased on 5-22-07. Layout is the same in the picture except mine has a Ruby sticker instead of the Sapphire one. At first I thought I had a bad card due to artifacts in 3D mode. Well turns out I had to make some changes in my Motherboard BIOS and lower the O/C some now it is running fine. My results were stable however with my 6800GT AGP card. Its faster in HDR then the 68xx series. Close too 7900GS-GT
The card like another review commented, looked as if it was installed prior with screw mark etc. Maybe I received his card? So I'm weary on companies New vs. open box policies. Newegg assurres me they only ship what is given from the OEM.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked Excellent for 3 months now it has died

Pros: Before dieing it Handled MTW2 NWN2 BF2 Rainbow Six Vegas.

Cons: It's like a Sony Product set to die on a specific date and time.

Example Playstation 2 and Sony TV's

Ati is no different.

Other Thoughts: I'm going back to Nvidia!!!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!!

Pros: Although their are better cards out their like the x1950pro this card can play anything you through at it from oblivion to fear at a great value price. Also i would like to point out that this card doesnt run hot at all like previous posters have claimed(my overall temps never rise above 35c when heavy gaming!).

Cons: My only con is that this cards fan is somewhat noisy when it first boots up...

Other Thoughts: my system: Amd 64 4000+ with a cooler master Hyper TX, 3gb of ram(pc3200), 400gb of sata hard drive from seagate, 500watt psu from Thermaltake, 3 antec fans.

5 out of 5 eggsThis runs friggen hot

Pros: Its as easy as 1,2,3. Poped it in and boy this thing took off. The fan is on a temperature sensor. The card can also get in the way. It is roughly 9-inches. The box comes with everything you will ever need except the instructions. Good thing guys never read them.

Cons: RUNS HOT. at an idle it runs about 75 degrees.........Celsius. That comes out to 167 F. The thing can give you a blister if you touched it durring a game. However the software had a guage and it was about halfway between cold and too hot.

Other Thoughts: This thing can be easily overclocked but i dont dare with how hot it runs

2 out of 5 eggsBe Aware of What they ship you...

Pros: Have Not Fired this Card up yet...

Cons: I purchase this card and they sent me a used card that had been installed already...the seal had been broken, there is a screw scratch mark where it holds the card in place.

Other Thoughts: I have had fantastic service up to this point. What? Someone approved the shipment of this item knowing that this is a used product...I believe that the quality control is slipping and so is my confidence in this outfit.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well, RUNS HOT

Pros: Mine seemed to OC easily with ATItool. Have it at 628, 720 (from stock 500,600). Plays everything I have played so far.

Cons: If you overclock this, you will need to do something about the heat. This thing burns like mad. It idles at 68C and under load, before I added another fan blowing up at it, it was running at 98C. Ridiculous!

Other Thoughts: Good card for the price. Almost as good as the 1950Pro and cheaper.

2 out of 5 eggsburns out

Pros: Getting cheaper

Cons: if used for gaming or high end video, runs hot, fan even throttles down when heat goes up, in 3d experinces polygon degradation and other failures

Other Thoughts: save your box, and be happy newegg has 1 yr warranty, sapphire will charge you to send to them after store warranty expires, had to RMA this card twice in 10 months, so flaw persists through revisions,
