4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: this was my third video card I bought the 2nd was a x1300 pro I got from circuit city and the first was a rad eon 7500 pci version before the advent of pci express. since then I jumped to a hd 4850, then on to a r9270x

Cons: its junk now

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Great(BEST) bang for the buck. Nice packaging. The heatsink covers all the memory DIMMS. Runs games like DOD Source at high with good FPS. Can overclock core speed at least 100mhz.

Cons: Loud fan at first. Had to flash BIOS to get it to quiet down. I personally hate the ATI drivers, I had to install .NET just to install Catalyst, and the ATI drivers in general cause my PCs to have mouse lag when gaming in some select games. Also, my card won't let me overclock past stock memory speed, although it does let me with the core speed.

Other Thoughts: All in all, it's a GREAT deal, but small things like the fan noise and ATI drivers prevent this product from being a 5.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat GPU!

Pros: Easy to set up, Temps are lower than my old card. It was a breeze to install. Overclocking is going well, its stable at the highest OC that Overdrive will let me go. (600 GPU & 1400 MEM)

Cons: fan... they have it set to run 73% no matter what (unless it gets REALLY HOT like 85 degrees to get 100%). I just used ATI tray tools to set my own speeds by temperature. its quiet at 50%... and like a vacuum at 70%...

Other Thoughts: Yes, it doesn't have the Crossfire bridge, but I didn't go crossfire so no con for me there.

2 out of 5 eggsSprinter, not a Marathonner

Pros: Blistering DirectX 9 performance for the $$

Cons: Died after 2 months of running "Folding at Home" GPU client. RMA was 15 dollars....for them to fix their defective product!

Other Thoughts: Not a fan of companies making you pay to fix their defects. What incentive is there for a company to do it right the 1st time if they make a PROFIT on warranty service! This practice has got to go!

4 out of 5 eggsFast card, Fast fan

Pros: Great performance for the price, good memory speeds with 256 bit 600 (1200)mhz GDDR3 and 12 pipelines.

Each pipeline has 3 pixel shaders (36 total), so more advanced games will see a bigger improvment.

Cons: The fan does not slow down while the videocard is running cool. It is always at 100% even when temps are below 48c.

Other Thoughts: I also have the AGP version from sapphire, and its fan works and never spins faster then 70% even playing Oblivion for 3 hours.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat board for yoour buck!

Pros: rice, brand name reputation. installed well, despite the length of the card reminiscent of the days when video cards where something only CAD users needed. Runs cooler than expected. No need to over clock yet. DDR3. Perfect if your like me and want to see the price of the great DX10 cards come down. Sapphire makes a great ATI board. Comes with a case badge. includes a porwer adapter unlike Diamond cards (yuk, diamond lol)

Cons: The sapphire girl on the heatsink shroud isn't t0pless :P

Other Thoughts: If you don't need DDX10 this card will let you run all your eye candy in what ever DX9 games you want and not get bogged down (just don't expect max AF/AA, no card can do that o don't try)

4 out of 5 eggsRebate... anywhere...?

Pros: Fast video card if you stick with DX9 games, can run most games on high (using a 19 inch monitor, 1280X1024 res). Plenty of power for games that are a year old. HUGE boost coming from my old computer with an ATI 9600 AGP.

Cons: Not as fast as the Nvidia 7900 series (almost on par with the 7900 OC). Can't run Settlers: Rise of and Empire on max settings (limited only to medium res). Forget running high end, new DX9 games on high. You'll need cross fire for that.

Other Thoughts: REBATE!!! I bought this in June, and I am still waiting for the rebate. 5, count em, 5 months waiting! The rebate company simply says "it will be mailed soon".
In the meantime, I'm waiting for newegg to get some more Radeon HD 3870's in stock. I'm getting one of those ASAP.

Sad, it takes so long to get a rebate, it isn't even here to help me with an upgrade!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance

Pros: I tested this card VS the 2900 PRO. My tests conclued that the 1950 series perform just as well as the 2900 series respectfully.

Cons: People always buy what others say is the best and its plain outright to bad.

Other Thoughts: In this test we tested a 2900 pro to this 1950 gt. The tests show no true performance gains in any game what so ever. The biggest gain was only by a uncost effective 10 fps. I did not use any bench mark testing programs as I believe them to be bias. The only true performance gain is the 2900 is DX10 compatable. I dont consider this a true performance mark. For most of you who broke down and bought a 2900 I hope it was only for the DX10 cause otherwise you have gained nothing. By the way the 2900 card was not mine but tested on my machine. I account the 10 fps increase by the 2900 to one of 2 things. Faster core speed (dont believe this to be the case) or 512 bit memory interface which is more than likely the case.

1 out of 5 eggsdont even bother

Pros: good care for the money

Cons: dont buy it. it says crossfire supported but it wont run in crossfire. after getting the cables from ati that should make it work it wont. asus p5k-v wont recognize crossfire. the newest ati driver also crashes on startup with 2 vid installed. it also locks up for no reason in intense gpu situations. they do not even ship with the right cables to do a crossfire. I tried to oc mine and nothing above stock would work. it glitches in video play back and games and studders contantly. I loved my x850 xt pe, so I went with ati again. this is just horrible though. still going with ati but dont buy this card.

5 out of 5 eggsMore of the great budget build

Pros: Can be overclocked if required, I don't, overclock everything else instead. Excellent ATI as usual.

Cons: Uhh, wish the fan/heatsink was a little better, but for the price, no complaints.

Other Thoughts: Part of the <500 build.. excellent.
