An All-Around Awesome VGA.
- Pros: 1.) It's pretty cheap for it's price range. 2.) I haven't found a game yet that won't run at max settings. So far that includes C&C Tiberium Wars, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Company Of Heroes, Half Life 2, Resident Evil 4, WOW, and Bioshock. 3.) EXTREMELY easy overclocking. 'Nuff said.
- Cons: 1.) I had to RMA my first one. It overheated my system, and burned up not only itself, but also my motherboard and PSU. Props to Newegg on their excellent customer service. 2.) Aftermarket cooling is an absolute MUST with this card. Once I got rid of that stock cooler, I went from an idle temp of 60(C) to an idle temp of 45(C), and from a full load temp of 85(C) to a full load temp of 65(C).
- Other Thoughts: I don't know why Newegg's specs sheet says the memory is clocked at 1400MHz. My memory came clocked at 722MHz, and can easily be OC'd up to 796MHz via the Catalyst Control Center. Also the core came clocked at 621MHz and can be OC'd up to 688MHZ. Not really a lot of difference in the overclock, even at max settings. This card's fan settings can be played around with via the program ATITool.
Great Card for DX9
- Pros: Basically- It is an AWESOME card, especially when you have two of them crossfired. I have two and the Counter Strike SOurce Stress Test had an FPS of 212. Pretty sweet card for the money.
- Cons: None except they're DX9, but if you dont have the money to go DX10 yet, got for this card.
- Other Thoughts: Highly Recomended. Thats really all I have to say. They're already overclocked, run wicked when crossfired, external crossfire bridges make the cpu run faster because the crossfire doesnt go through the motherboard and slow everything down.
Not Bad but Not Great
- Pros: Easy install, worked great on my old machine and my new machine.
- Cons: Not a noticable performance difference from my PowerColor X800GT. Cost me about what I payed for the old one but bought for a new machine so not a big deal. Not for an extreme gamer.
- Other Thoughts: Good affordable video card for my inexpensive gaming machine. E4400 2.0 Gig C2D, Asus P5GZ-MX Green Mobo, 2 Gigs (2x 1 Gig) of Super Talent 667 memory, WD 160 Gig Sata 3.0 HD and this VC in a cheap mini tower case with 1 80 mm fan and one pci fan.
