How powerful are the new X1650 Graphic Processor Unit video cards? "Better check to see if you can handle it" powerful, and that's no exaggeration! Some of the new boards require PCI Express; this board lets those of us with an AGP 4x/8x slot play, too. Sapphire's 100198L is an AGP 4X/8X board that can handle all that Vista can dish out. It's based on the Radeon X1650 GPU from ATi and loaded with 512MB of GDDR2.
VGA and DVI-I ports let you hook up your choice of monitors. Or you can use both ports and give yourself plenty of screen real estate for games or large tasks. The S-Video port lets you send either an S-Video or composite signal to your TV.
Speed and power. Brilliance, high contrast, and vivid colors. The versatility to plug it into your monitor, your tv, or your video projector. You're going to like what you see.

Glad I stuck with AGP
- Pros: Card came clocked at 499core 400mem. I used a beta of ATItool and set it to run at 620core 400mem. I get great fps on HL2 + CSS like games. I got 4400 on 3dmark05 with ATItool running. I am using a P4 2.8 oc'd to 3.02ghz. 1gb Corsair value 3200, in a Foxconn mobo i bought here 3 years back. Few bulging capacitors but never fails. Upped vid card from a refurb sapphire 9800pro 128mb that i got here at the time i built my pc and it and the mobo/ram stayed OC'd the whole time no flaws. only reboot after install.. x1650 runs great
- Cons: None. 3 days after I got it I loaded Omega drivers and got rid of Ati's. I got a few more fps and then I replaced the thermal compound with cheap retail paste. Temp dropped 5c Not sure what max i can push it but it does run stable and I found it odd that ATI says it runs at 499mhzcore out of box. I fixed that and then some. If my A/C didnt fail on me i would go further. Runs 63c-Core 50c-Mem in a hot house which is not bad ... the heat in the house is :x
- Other Thoughts: Alot of people are crying that they get poor performance out of the card. It is right for the money. Good deal if your pc plays the games you want and don't want to put hundreds into another machine to get pci-e. But if you play games made upto mid 2006 you can push mid-high settings assuming your ram and processor is good as well. Get the omega/hgohq drivers and forget all that CCC ati junk.
Great buy
- Pros: Fast, cool running. A major improvement from the NVidia MX4000 I was running. You can't beat it for the price!
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: As usual, Newegg was spot-on for quality, price and delivery.

Great for the price
- Pros: Great card for the money. Runs World of Warcraft fine. I have a slightly older motherboard/ processor- AMD 64 single core and 2 Gigs of RAM- and I get between 27 and 55 fps even after several hours of playing WoW.
- Cons: The built in fan is a little small and looks kind of cheap.
- Other Thoughts: Added a system fan to the front of the case and everything seems to be running nice and cool.
Blazing fast
- Pros: Out of the box it worked like a charm. The VPU Clock showed 500Mhz and the Memory Clock showed 398Mhz. Before I put an A/C in the room, the temp for the card was 67* C, with A/C I am seeing 59* C at idle. ATI drivers I used on the CD worked fine, no problems at all, works great for games like Doom3 and others.
- Cons: The only concern is the heatsink. Current one does okay, but if your case doesn't have enough cooling, then it will run hot. For those with tech knowledge, I would suggest a better heatsink for the card.
- Other Thoughts: Great card for the price and for an older system with AGP. Can't beat Newegg at the service they offer either. Way to go Newegg.
radeon video
- Pros: Great card for what I paid for it. Has excellent graphics for games that i play in the midrange haven't tried with some of the latest high end games. easy to install just plug it in and use the install disc or get latest drivers from ati if not catalyst 8.1.
- Cons: None so far has done all i have asked it to do.
- Other Thoughts: You must have .net 2 at least installed as with all radeon graphics cards that use the catelyst, if not it just wont work properly and you will be sadly dissappointed.
