4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Great card for the money. Runs World of Warcraft fine. I have a slightly older motherboard/ processor- AMD 64 single core and 2 Gigs of RAM- and I get between 27 and 55 fps even after several hours of playing WoW.

Cons: The built in fan is a little small and looks kind of cheap.

Other Thoughts: Added a system fan to the front of the case and everything seems to be running nice and cool.

5 out of 5 eggsBlazing fast

Pros: Out of the box it worked like a charm. The VPU Clock showed 500Mhz and the Memory Clock showed 398Mhz. Before I put an A/C in the room, the temp for the card was 67* C, with A/C I am seeing 59* C at idle. ATI drivers I used on the CD worked fine, no problems at all, works great for games like Doom3 and others.

Cons: The only concern is the heatsink. Current one does okay, but if your case doesn't have enough cooling, then it will run hot. For those with tech knowledge, I would suggest a better heatsink for the card.

Other Thoughts: Great card for the price and for an older system with AGP. Can't beat Newegg at the service they offer either. Way to go Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsradeon video

Pros: Great card for what I paid for it. Has excellent graphics for games that i play in the midrange haven't tried with some of the latest high end games. easy to install just plug it in and use the install disc or get latest drivers from ati if not catalyst 8.1.

Cons: None so far has done all i have asked it to do.

Other Thoughts: You must have .net 2 at least installed as with all radeon graphics cards that use the catelyst, if not it just wont work properly and you will be sadly dissappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsGood... for AGP

Pros: I bought this card back in August of 07 and it still manages to hold up my old P4 AGP system, but barely.
When i bought it ,it was good for the time for me being able to play BF2 on Almost Highest settings, and play some other games that i could not play on my old Radeon 7500.

Cons: Really, this card overheats kinda fast even with extra cooling. Ive had random lockups and freezing in many games now, and my expereince with overclocking it did not go well(only being able to OC it about 5-6MHz before freezing) maybe i got a defective card, but now on july 9, this card is worse than my new computer's integrated graphics.I would not recomend buying this card now, for there are many other better options.

Other Thoughts: This was a great card when i bought it and i had alot of fun using it to play many games, but now, unless you need it for an old system or for a simple work computer.

5 out of 5 eggsLoved a lot

Pros: I love it It hasn't failed me yet runs everything perfect. I run 2 monitors, and it couldn't get better.

Cons: only had 1 graphical error and it wasn't that bad.

Other Thoughts: doesn't run Crysis that well, but does run it.

4 out of 5 eggsATI Radeon Product

Pros: Runs great, decent graphics for its price to power. It can run Oblivion (PC Game) rather well at mid graphics, can run at High but I warn you it will chug down the frames per second. Got it relative fast thru Newegg!

Cons: Can be a little hot, but nothing major to complain. The driver Catalyst has always been a bit glitchy just update it as soon as you can thru the AMD ATI website.

Other Thoughts: I would go for a Nvidia GeForce graphics card personally for a more modern computer w/ a PCI express. But it was one of the better deals for an old computer I own that still has an AGP port.

5 out of 5 eggstook a chance...and....

Pros: i bought this for my sons barely alive 2.4...abit IS7 system we built together in replaced a dead sapphire 9800pro. So far so good, about 2-3 months in and no problems. Runs WOW great, which is all he plays anymore anyways. Runs on max settings, and he couldnt be happier.

Cons: Like others have said, the fan moves alot of air and is noticeable. And frankly the drivers were a pain at first, but the newer drivers from ati have settled in and are working fine. I have not overclocked the card, or do i plan to since it does the job fine now.

Other Thoughts: If you can get ahold of these cards anymore, it was a cheap way to prolong the life of his WOW computer. Im sure until he changes games, this will last the life of his rig.

4 out of 5 eggsGood AGP

Pros: For an old outdated card, it can handle most modern games pretty well. I play crysis, and before my overclock got 15 fps. Now for an aged AGP and 478 board, thats pretty darn good. I get average of 100 fps in CS:S and in ET:QW get to about 30fps (theres a 30fps cap built into ET:QW that I haven't disabled) Performs well. Cooler is pretty quiet.

Cons: Cooler isn't that great. OLD technology

Other Thoughts: I overclocked this to 533mhz core and 441mhz mem. It came clocked at 500mhz core, and 400mhz mem (actually 398.9) I can't push it any more than it is without it crashing. You need a volt mod to get any further from what I understand. The fan came at 26% speed, I stepped it up to 40% and overclocked idle its at 60c. Under Load its about 71c. My fan is dead quiet until i turn it up to 50% then it sounds like an airplane taking off (no exaggeration, takes one % to make it go from dead quiet to deafening.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card, lousy docs

Pros: Works great, big improvement over the Radeon 9600 it replaced. Dark Messiah looks much better with this card, I can see a lot of detail that wasn't there before.

Cons: Fan is a bit loud, but it's not too bad. You can tell it's moving a lot of air, but once the case is closed it's not real noticeable.

Documentation is poor. The ultra-brief instructions don't mention that you need to plug in a power line to the four pins on the top of the card. It's pretty obvious, but I don't like having to guess when I'm installing a video card, they're kind of sensitive.

The bundled CD doesn't mention the 1650 on the splash screen, it seems to be for other Radeons. Sapphire's site doesn't have any documentation that I could find, and they want you to register. What a pain.

Other Thoughts: Once I hooked up the power, the card gave me no problems. My system has a 350W power supply, 3 gig celeron, MSI board with Via chipset. Before installing, I uninstalled old display drivers and ran Driver Sweeper from After installing the card I installed the latest driver from ATI's website.

When I bought the card there was a 15 dollar rebate. I thought I downloaded the form but can't find it, if anyone could shoot the PDF to therussmeister at I'd be grateful.
