Awesome Video Card!!!
- Pros: This video card is fast, reliable and is cheaper than the 8800GTX. It has 256mb more mem than the GTX and faster timings. It's crossfire ready and comes with an internal Bridge! Runs most of my games (including the Crysis demo) perfectly! Even at 1680x1050! Easily overclocked. I have mine at 806.63/1125.00mhz (core/memory)!!! Combined DDR speed is 2.25ghz!!! It's amazing.
- Cons: A little big, I expected it to be though. Use the 7.10 drivers for this card, 7.11 just doesn't work right. You will need a PCI-E 8-pin power cable for this one too along side the 6-pin, more of a warning than a con. Fan can be a little loud (using AtiTool Fan Control).
- Other Thoughts: Make sure you have enough space in your case for this card and make sure you have a really good PSU! Tagan makes a nice PSU that works great with this card and is Crossfire Supported. The Tagan BZ-700. AtiTool .27 Beta-4 is compatible with this card and is recommended for the fan control, along with the overclocking options. If you have 3D Mark '06, there is a fix that allows you to use it to benchmark this card. Don't worry about heat problems if you have a well ventilated case with filters. I'm using an Antec 900, wich are also on sale right now too. Get this Video Card!!!!
BETTER THAN 8800 SERIES
- Pros: This card is better than the 8800GTX or Ultra. It has a higher core clock, GDDR4 memory compared to GDDR3, 256MB more memory and handels DX10 better with more FPS!
- Cons: It is bigger than an 8800GTX and it is power hungry.
- Other Thoughts: If you don't have the money for this, get a HD3870.
In response to: "can these 2 cards be crossfired"
- Pros: seebelow
- Cons: seebelow
- Other Thoughts: in response to "can u crossfire with..."
umm...y would u? Even if u could crossfire the 2, you would not benefit from the 1GB of memory or the GDDR4. The more powerful card would be severely bottlenecked by the weaker one.(the speed of the more powerful one would automatically underclock/slow itself down to match the weaker card) U should get another 2900XT 512mb GDDR3 if u r looking to go crossfire. I'm pretty sure the brand is irrelavent.
