fix
- Pros: i have a single 3870 and a 3870x2 in tri fire . makes all games very playable. last reviewer stated that 2 3870's is better than a gtx 295. please stop being unrealistic. my 3 3870's cant even come close to a 295. just an older series, nothing against the card. please stop giving advice.
- Cons: newer games begin to put a hurting on this series.
A incredible card.
- Pros: This card, for starters, is a single slot card, which normally does not run as this card does. A normal card like this could run at 60*C, but this card, while having the ability to OC beyond a 810- GPU Clock, and while the Memory Interface was OC'd to 1300 on a GDDR4 card. Is quite incredible and all for under 100 dollars. I do give this card a Five Egg, and besides it's an STL card, they always do me justice.
- Cons: If I had any, I would tell you all.
- Other Thoughts: As of now, this product is deactivated. I planned on doing Crossfire with this card for maximum performance, to clock it to be the same, if not better as the nVidia GTX 295
2x STL 3870 overclocked at 810 with GDDR4 Is much better in price and power usage than 1 EVGA GTX 295 clocked at 1792 with GDDR3
I mean, would you rather use Two Six pin PCI or One Six and One eight pin PCI? They both take up two slots, but only Crossfire in this case delivers the better quality and efficiency with cheaper prices and quality. Also, the STL 3870 does not go over 40*c when OC'd to the max on idle. 50*c when using it in games, which is freaking amazing.
Also, with nVidia, you cant really buy a Sound ready DVI to female HDMI converter of what I know of now. This card does it all plus. Remember, this is only my opinion, so no hate towards nVidia lovers.
- Pros: Surprisingly fast.
Single slot Operates cool even in a SFF case Cheap
- Cons: Isn't the fastest ever made? If that can be a con.
- Other Thoughts: Quite simply the best budget card on the market. 70 bucks to play Crysis on high at 1680x1050 in DX9 at an average 30fps.
Plays every other game out there maxed with AA and Aniso. Half-Life Episode two runs on every setting at max and with AA at 8x, and Aniso at 16x butter smooth.
For 70 bucks.
(Running an E5300 at 3.35ghz, 2GB 1066 DDR2)
