1 out of 5 eggsRe: WoW! (Update)

Pros: Performance was great for its time. No issues what so ever until...

Cons: The fan died exactly 1 week after the warranty ran out. Sapphire was of no help and said they didnt even stock replacements. I'll never own another Sapphire product.

Other Thoughts: Too bad AMD no longer produces the X2 cards. I'd like to have another from someone other than Sapphire.

A little too late for this review perhaps, but oh well.

5 out of 5 eggsSo it runs a little hot

Pros: This is truly a bad-boy kinda card even though it seems it was manufactured in a hurry to release. At the moment, the only competition out there is a WC/OCed version of the card and that says a lot. CrossfireX is more practical than SLI since you can CFX another 3xxx series (I chose a 3850 for some weird reason??)

Cons: MAJOR overlook with the auto fan controller on the manufactures' part, but RT with will fix that with a few tweaks. my card was starting to get glitching in games before I found this fix.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on gaming (which you will with this card) then get RT or watch various forums for the best fix for the fan issue; the fan stays at a VERY low idle even under load without a fix applied.
P.S. Newegg, ATI/AMD states that RT is an actual fix for this issue allow us reviewers to help!

5 out of 5 eggsIt's now very good for the money

Pros: Very good card for the money.

Cons: Hot, needs 8 pin plug.

Other Thoughts: I bought this two months ago and paid a lot more. It probably was not worth the price at the time, but is now. Of course the 4800 series will be out soon, making the price drop on these and the value go up.

3 out of 5 eggsan ok card....

Pros: Shipped fast, comes with useful items in the box. New Egg was very helpful, I wouldn't shop anywhere else. Im serious.

Cons: To perform well, you have to set the fan speed above or equal to 50%. Its loud, but I got use to it. The fan basically sucks. After about 1 month it would turn off, and then on resulting in freezing (when playing games like TF2). I have the best ventilation in my case and I have 2 fans blowing directly on it. Before the card broke, I sent in the Mail in Rebate, offered with the package. Little did I know, when you send in for the mail in rebate, you have to cut the serial code and UPC code off the box and send it in to Sapphire. Well, in doing so you void your 30 warrenty with NewEgg, because you have to send in the UPc and serial. Now Im waiting for my new card to arrive from sapphire. In my opinion, the mail in rebate isn't worth the hastle one bit. I'd rather deal with new egg and pay 20$ then maybe get 20$ and deal with Sapphire.

Other Thoughts: I would have really liked to of had my card not break, I don't know who to blame ATI or Sapphire. The problem with me is I can't find a good manufacturer who makes ATI cards. With Nvidia, its EVGA hands down. But with ATI its a coin toss, or even better, the throw of a dice. I went with ATI because Im tired of everyone putting it down, I already have the AMD and the 790x chipset so I have a spider platform. If ATI/AMD wants to do better, I suggest they get new companys to make their cards.

AMD Phenom Black 2.5, Quad, ATI 3870X2, ASUS M3A Deluxe 790x, WD Raptor 10,000 RPM, Antec 850 watt PSU, Antec 900 case.

5 out of 5 eggsRE: Only showing 512MB

Pros: Card performs as advertized after updating drivers and augmenting fan speed. You will see at least 25FPS in ANY game including Crysis at max settings in HD resolutions at ALL times. Typically several hundred FPS in most other games and even Crysis in some moments. I would say a 65FPS average in Crysis and over 100FPS in any other high-end game.

Cons: Need to augment fan speed to keep it from overheating. Want a PCIe2.0 version with the out-of-case exhaust assembly.

Other Thoughts: In response to striker's question of whether this(his) card is a (not sold) 512MB version: There are no 512MB versions of this or any other 3870x2 cards; they are all 2x512MB for 1GB total. Download at least ATI 8.3 drivers for the dual GPU compatability as without them (running on stock drivers) you're only running one 3870 GPU and the other is inactive. That said, you could do that until you get the fan speed controller (many recommend Riva Tuner) so you don't fry the card until you have the fan speed raised.

5 out of 5 eggsReally Sweet!

Pros: OK, first of all, I own every latest card imaginable but this is the one that looks the best. New 8.5 drivers are a must as is Riva since this card will idle at stock fan settings between 60c-80c. Up the fan to 50% using R/T and watch those temps drop 20-30c! Idle now is 50-60c. Games, video, pics are awsome on my HP LP3065 30" 2560x1600. Make sure your power suppy provides 6 and 8 pin leads.

Cons: Sticker on card face of the "warrior chick" fell off, hanging down from card. This I can live with!

Other Thoughts: This particular system: Gigabyte Mercury case, Intel x-48 extreme M/B, Q6700 cpu, Kingston 1333 ddr3 4GB, Vista 64 Ultimate, 1KW Enermax P/S, 150GB 10K Raptor

1 out of 5 eggsBuggy as Hell!

Pros: This card looked awesome and ran fine for about 10 minutes.

Cons: This card crashed in died, as soon as I updated my windows vista and updated the video card drivers with the ones that came with the CD I had blue screens of death, system randomly rebooting, all pointing back to the card and its drivers.

Other Thoughts: Never will buy another ATI product again!

3 out of 5 eggsOnly showing 512MB

Pros: Great performance for the money. Switched from 8800GTX to this because my board supports Crossfire and not SLI. Wanted to have upgrade potential

Cons: Under video card properties, thru ATI or other party, the card only shows 512MB ram. Wondering if I got a bad card or mixed up card in wrong box. How do i verify that I have 1 GB of memory on the card?

Other Thoughts: Does anyone know how to verify if the card I have is the actual 1GB version? I run Vista 32bit and when i go to ATI properties, it shows 3870x2 w/512MB ram. Nowhere do I see 1GB of memory. Need to know whether or not to RMA. Besides this problem, the card runs great. Get RIVA tuner to control fan to 50% and keep it cool. A little loud but not bad.

Cons: I think it will melt down in the summer, better not use.

Other Thoughts: Great winter card.

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Have this when it first came out and don't even encounter too much problem that concerned me. No BSOD, overheat, no game that it can't run, no strange line, no problem... It's a good time to buy this card now.

Cons: People with low experience with this card. How can you have so much problem and call yourself a high understanding of the product. These graphic card price drop like flies. I'll wait off at least 3 months after the release of next gen (hd4870) because I can save tons. I payed 450$ + shipping for these 3 months or so ago.

Other Thoughts: The game I played and have little problem running @ 1920x1200; Crysis, WIC, HL2 & TF2, GuildWars, WOW, AOC, Bioshock, COD4, AOE 3, Halo 1 & 2, COH, and some other game. System specs: Q6600 @ 3.24GHz, 2x2gb ddr8500 gskill, Gigabyte x38 DS4, 850w ABS psu, 1x150gb raptor and some other HD that add up to 1TB of storage, Tons of apps running in the background while playing game, Vista 32bit. I don't see any problem maybe your system is not up to date or you just don't properly run your system.
