Awesome card.
- Pros: This card is very cool, just amazing graphix, the detail on this compared to an 8800GTX is much different my CS:S FPS went up 120 avg this card just rocks hardcore and i plan to setup crossfire as soon as auto-notify is off.
- Cons: Im dumb for paying 350 for the 8800GTX and 210 for this... I feel bad.
- Other Thoughts: 8GB Corsair Dominator Memory.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (OC'd to 4.0ghz) ATI HD4850 plan to have 2 of them.
SAPPHIRE 100242-1GL Radeon HD 4850 1GB
- Pros: These are great cards. The single slot relatively short PCB design is great, allowing better air flow for cooling. Performance has been great and nearly zero driver issues in any games I own. I bought two for crossfire and the few issues remarks extends to crossfire performance. The 1 GB has really made a difference for my gaming at 1920 X 1280.
- Cons: Really not much in regards to cons. When under heavy load the fans tend to spin up and get a little loud.
- Other Thoughts: I thought about adding this into the Cons but didn't really fit. I bought my two a day after each other and one came from cali, and the other from tenn (or something). One is the Blue (like picture), and the other is the red one. Funny thing is my blue one actually had the lower temps. Did the BIOS flash from blue one to the red so they both have same bios and fan speeds. Presto, both cards are running relatively cool at 60C idle.
Awesome Video Card.
- Pros: This card is very good. I have no problems with any games, including crysis on very high with 8x AA. Make sure you go with aftermarket cooling for this because it's like a heater. Before I bought a zalman vf900 for it, my temps were idle 50c load 100c with the fan fix, when running fur rending it would shut my pc down. Now that I got aftermarket cooling on it, it runs idle 28c load 62c using fur rending for 2-3 hours at overclocked speeds of 700/1153.
- Cons: That I didn't wait a few weeks after it came out and spent $250 on it plus I got overnight shipping and rush processing. So it ended up almost costing me $300, but o well it's a great vid card.
- Other Thoughts: Zalman VF900 and AC5 is a must have. You would also extend the life of this card, by it not running at the stock high temps.
