5 out of 5 eggsWin

Pros: Video processor can handle all the games I have access to without any lag. I suspicion that the cost of finding a game that would tax the card would cost far more than I paid for the card.

Cons: It's an ATI, which I've not had much luck in Linux. Granted, Ubuntu support has come a long way, and this may surpass my expectations, but I've always had far more luck with nVidia graphics in Linux.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great card, gave Windows Vista an extreme boost, along with games I play, such as World of Warcraft.

Comes with software, can be easily overclocked, and fits in an HP Pavilion Slimline with no problems.

Cons: So far, I'm only disappointed that there's no fan, but all is good. I had a spare PCI fan that I placed below it's heat sink :)

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this card that's looking for a boost from anything older, or need a graphics card for a Low Profile PC.

As others have said, this doesn't work in ALL low profile PC's, my friend had troubles fitting this into his, and had to saw away some of the heat sink to get it to fit, but, if you look at the pictures and use your judgment well, you should be good.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for digital

Pros: Inexpensive, multiple interfaces, simple install (if it fits). Software installed quickly and automatically

Cons: Low profile card, but the heatsink made it too large for my Dell SFF machine. REALLY hot, no fan.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I guess it's not a bad card, but be aware that it's not as "low profile" as needed for all machines.
Also, I bought this to use the svideo or component connector for a TV - the screen is unbearably blurry. If you need it for that, make sure you have a monitor handy to use the computer. DVDs abd video still look fine, though.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT

Pros: Brought my old skt.939 PC to life. Simply adding this card allows me to watch HD with A64 4000 single core
and 1GB ram and even some little gaming(2-3 year old games)

Cons: Gets way too hot in my small case, resolved by adding little 60mm fan on heatsink at 5v:cool and quiet.

Other Thoughts: Best card for cheap HTPC solution and it has low profile brackets.

4 out of 5 eggsPERFECT FOR HTPC

Pros: PERFECT FOR THE LITTLE BOOST YOUR HTPC NEEDS OVER THE ONBOARD VIDEO.

Cons: HEATSINK RUNS HOT WITHOUT ANY PASSIVE COOLING, BUT IT WITHIN DESIGN SPECS. SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD COOLING FLOW.

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast, easy to install, low price

Pros: This card was very inexpensive ($39) and easy to install. It has crisp, vivid digital definition and plays HD videos beautifully. I think it's a great value for those who like gaming but don't - apparently - demand much from their spreadsheets :-$! (See the Other thoughts area for clarification).

The 512 MB of on-board graphics RAM also seems to have taken quite a bit of load off of my system RAM, which is now running consistently at about 25% of capacity.

Cons: My problems with this card have nothing to do with the card itself, but more to do with Newegg.

I paid for 3-day express shipping which - while only an additional $2.99 - was a complete waste of money. The card shipped on Monday morning and arrived on Thursday evening. When I called Newegg about it, their reaction was "oh well".

There was no effort to give me a future discount or to credit the express shipping charge - bad service in my book!

Other Thoughts: My other thought has nothing to do with the card per se, but with Windows Vista. Vista gave my machine an Experience Index of 3.7 after installing this card, which seems ridiculously low.

So, I wonder how that value is derived. And, the low value was for desktop graphics, not gaming graphics - weird. All of the other values (including gaming graphics) were from 4.6 - 5.9.

It just strikes me as odd, and I'm wondering what algorithm MS uses to assign these values.

4 out of 5 eggsHeatsink a bit tall

Pros: Great performance for the price point. Silent. Hardware video decompression. It actually includes the low profile bracket.

Cons: Heatsink was too tall to fit into a Dell Optiplex 755 case. I had to take off the heatsink and cut it down with a hacksaw. Worked fine after that bit of customization.

Other Thoughts: I have this in a home theater pc using Vista Home Premium. If you are really need this to fit a small form factor case, pick another card with a shorter heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggsInstalled in HP dc7700

Pros: Silent and inexpensive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: installed this in a HP dc7700 small form factor computer. Works fine. It runs Real Flight Demo 4.0 fine. This card has built in audio that I do not use but it shut off the audio that is built into the motherboard – no problem, just go into BIOS and re enable audio.
