5 out of 5 eggsVideo + Sound Card

Pros: This card has great video quality on HDMI and DVI (which is really important on my HTPC)

7.1 surround sound (through the HDMI) is also a big plus. This removes the need to purchase a sound card that has 7.1 support.

The lack of a fan could be a con to some, but because it is a low-power card, it's a bonus to have no noise.

This card, with its shorter heatsinks, keep it cool while only takes up one PCI slot, unlike some cards in comparable price range (some over 5" wide).

Cons: Because it has the 7.1 surround sound, the computer registers it as a sound card. That means that if you have the card plugged in, you have to go through a huge hassle to turn off the "sound card" to use the computer's audio again. And of course, if you do that, the HDMI sound on the card doesn't work anymore.

But if you're using it for an HTPC, you have no need to worry about this.

Other Thoughts: My setup is a Compaq Presario desktop from 2005, running 2GB DDR RAM and Windows XP Media Center. I'm using it on a 47" LG LCD TV. I recently upgraded it for use as an HTPC, and this card perfectly fits my needs. By using an HDMI cable with sound capabilities, I am able to use my 7 speakers and subwoofer with no other hardware.

Pros: Easy to install. Love the HDMI connectios. Picture quality on monitor is outstanding using the HDMI connection.

Cons: Catalist Control Center was a little difficult to manuver to get the picture quality needed.

Other Thoughts: Nice video card for the money. would recommend buy to use with an HD monitor.

1 out of 5 eggsLousy Video Card

Pros: Cheap

Cons: This card worked fine when I first installed it, then very quickly went downhill. The screen began flickering, and then the video memory quit refreshing. I returned it for a refund, and ordered a Galaxy GT430 nVidia based card for about $20 more than this one, and so far, it works beautifully.

Other Thoughts: Spend the extra money, and buy a better card.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well out of the box in the new HP desktop I ordered. Saved $100 by buying it here than with the HP computer. Windows 7 recognized it automatically and installed the drivers without issue. Very straight forward installation.

Cons: Wish that it was available with instant savings, without having to rely on a rebate and debit card.

Other Thoughts: The fanless design makes it super quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card, cheap, low power

Pros: I get 70+ in Crysis all settings high! Just joking of course. This is a great little card for a media pc or a low-power office PC. It's passive so no noise and the power consumption is extremely low. Low-profile so it's ideal for lower HTPC cases. Sound works over HDMI. I mainly use it for Blue-Ray and streaming video playback. No complaints so far.

Cons: 1GB memory will not make any difference. I bought this version because it was only couple of dollars more.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME CARD!

Pros: Played Assassin's Creed at maximum display settings and had little to no lag. Easy install, nice low profile design.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: It actually has a VGA connector, unlike a lot I have seen, and my monitor for some reason does not have DVI connections so it was nice not having to get an adapter.
