5 out of 5 eggsFive Years Later

Pros: Only paid 360 for a pair of these monsters in 2010. . .they still stand up very well, work perfectly, and play every title I throw at them with ease.

Cons: NLA - I'd buy more for my kids if they were still around.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performance

Pros: Well, I've now owned 2 of these running in crossfire for the past 4 years. I suppose now is the time to write a review. Still performs beautifully. I've had no issues in the time that I've owned these, I still use them in my main gaming rig. I however am saddened to even be considering upgrading from these. Where there's now 256-bit and 3-4GB cards out there I'm still hesitant to get rid of my two loving babies that have treated me extremely well over the past 4 years.

Cons: The only flaw that I have is that now and then my crossfire will be disabled but not really any performance problems. I just have to re-enable it now and then.

Other Thoughts: If possible, maybe can find a cheap one/pair from someone.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT PRICE.

Pros: For the price of this video card I was astonished. It took every thing I threw at it. I was playing Resident Evil 5 around the time I bought this card. The benchmark fps were great. I was getting a solid 120fps.

Cons: Only problem I had with the card was the HDMI connectors eventually went bad.

Other Thoughts: I would have recommended this card to anybody around the time I purchased it.

4 out of 5 eggsNo complaints

Pros: A solid card for the price. I run BF3 on high with no issues.
Its not top of the line, but for 120 bucks, perfect for the budget gamer.

Cons: I did find some glitches in CCC in some games. Not really a card issue, though.

1 out of 5 eggsHORRIBLE WARRANTY. DO NOT BUY SAPPHIRE PRODUCTS. (Yes it's that bad).

Pros: Video card is awesome while working

Cons: WARRANTY ABSOLUTELY BLOWS. They charge you $15 processing, make you pay shipping, and it takes 3-4 weeks for them to replace your card with a remanufactured/refurbished one.

Google it. Sapphire has one of the absolute worst warranties that I have ever encountered in 15+ years of building and fixing computers.

Do yourself a favor and buy from a reputable company that cares about customer service, because theirs absolutely sucks.

5 out of 5 eggs6+ months, and going strong!

Pros: Quiet. I've messed with the fan speeds in CCC, and it can get loud when the fan gets moving, but on auto control the fan has never gone over 30%, which actually worries me, and I'll put why in the cons. Temps have been stable, and the auto clocking seemed to work well. Runs WOW with all setting on Ultra without dropping frames. Runs AC Brotherhood on ultra w/o dropping frames, same with MW2.
Looks pretty nifty, but I wish you could turn off the blue light. Not that it's annoying when it's on, it's just annoying to me not to have the option to turn it off.
No driver issues to report, which I like.

Cons: My only con for this card is that I worry about the CCC's fan speed controller. I've NEVER heard the fan go over 30%, except during start-up. I'm honestly not sure if this is because the temps never get high enough to kick the fan speed up, or if CCC just isn't responding to the temps. That's my only concern.

3 out of 5 eggsActive DisplayPort required for 3 monitor support

Pros: For two monitors, this is a perfectly good card. Good frame rates, etc., all the good stuff that other people have been saying.

Cons: The advertised Eyefinity 3-monitor support only works if you have an active DisplayPort connection for one of the monitors. Using a standard DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI to DVI dongle will not work; it MUST be an active DisplayPort connection. See http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Cannotenablemorethantwodisplays.aspx

Other Thoughts: I bought this card specifically to run 3 identical DVI monitors in a machine with only one PCIE slot. It does not serve the purpose, and I'm better off using my 4890 and a secondary PCI video card.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy silence, disappointed at OS instead.

Pros: Quiet. I bought it for silence and audio over HDMI. I need the quiet in my house. Regarding PC noice, it is exactly what I needed. Radeon 4890 performance, no noise, sweet. I also like the audio over HDMI, but see cons as well...

Cons: I was looking for a Dual (Video+Audio) HDMI card that I could route my picture in clone mode to my PC monitor and my 40 inch flat screen, both in 1080p. Success for the video part, but the card does not send audio over the DVI port. I ended up using the analog stereo audio. It was a big fail for me. I really wanted to simplify things. It turns out it was a limit of the operating system. Problem with XP and Windows 7. You cannot output audio over two different ports of a computer. I.e. on over HDMI to the second monitor, and motherboard analog to the first, or vice-versa. I wanted my one PC to pull double duty as the HTPC, just by routing a second HDMI cable through the walls.

Other Thoughts: The card is great. The VLC acceleration arrived in the 10.7 drivers this month, also a nice feature. Still waiting for Hulu and Flash to get their act together for smooth playback on ATI cards. I wish this card came with two HDMI ports instead, and an adapter to DVI, vice the DVI port. And with that, the ability to transmit two audio streams. I don't think such a card exists. One can only dream.
