1 out of 5 eggsdidnt last as long as I thought it should

Pros: Worked great for almost two years with very little use

Cons: I dont use this for gamming much, other than a few games on steam, I mostly use my computer to watch TV. Its not over clocked and very litte hard use and it only lasted two years. The reson I bought this was that it had HDMI output so I could hook it directly to my tv and if i wanted to play a game i could use it in a respectable setting that didnt look like claymation. I dont like throwaway products and this seems like one.

4 out of 5 eggsWhy not?

Pros: Got this with a bundle build and for two years it did me proud. Ran (unmodded) Skyrim at ultra-high and didn't have any hiccups with almost any game. Just used it the other day and it happily ran Assassin's Creed III at max settings. *tear*

Cons: Modded Skyrim had some real problems and I had some concerns about it running the newer more demanding games coming up in late 2013.

Other Thoughts: It's not going to shake the earth. It's a fantastic affordable starter card, but if you're going to invest I would up the ante.

5 out of 5 eggs3 years and still running strong

Pros: Has kept up with the current games on high if not maxed out settings and performs like a champ. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one last year and finally set up CrossFire.

Cons: Bulky! I had to take my sound card out to get the CrossFire setup to work. Also, it was hard to get it past the hard drive dock at the front of my (large) case.

Other Thoughts: Glad I picked up a second for CrossFire before it got discontinued.

1 out of 5 eggsFairly Decent but fail

Pros: Performs decently well on all games. You can play pretty much anything but not at the max settings.

Cons: I cannot upgrade my drivers past revision 11. If i go to revision 12 or 13 Directx games don't get displayed properly. I have tried windows 7, a full wipe and fresh driver install. I have tried to upgrade to Windows 8 and tried multiple drivers. I have tried a fresh install of Windows 8 with multiple drivers. I cannot upgrade my drivers. I believe it is an issue with the card but XFX hasn't been really much help.

Other Thoughts: I see that my card came with a double lifetime warranty but it is pretty worthless at this point since I cannot upgrade my drivers. I could probably eek out a little more performance and life out of this card if I had that option. I am pretty positive that there is something wrong with my card, a defect of some sort but with this experience I don't think I will purchase an XFX card again.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your review but unfortunately you are talking about an XFX product but you have placed on a SAPPHIRE product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: I've had this card since late 2010 and it continues to play high end games at max setting. Purchased this as part of a budget build PC and surprising feeling no need to upgrade to keep up with the games.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic card

Pros: I've been using this card for two years with no issue. This is an awesome card! It will play a lot of games at max settings, and the newer games at near max. If you want, you can even OC this card (but it gets hot, you will need to manually adjust the fan speed). People say this is an outdated card, yeah that may be true but it's still going STRONG!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for my first build

Pros: I've always been computer savvy but had never built a complete rig until now. Video Cards were always evolving so I chose one that matched the specs of my board and was at a price point I could afford. This card has been able to run Skyrim at full resolution on my Samsung 46" LED TV (it's my monitor) I also watch MLB.tv using my computer which plays flawlessly without skipping frames. At the time of purchase it was one of the only cards with an HDMI output that wasn't above $300. I see a ton of complaints about heat... for this you probably need to increase the airflow within your case. I haven't had any issues with the drivers or Catalyst control center either. I think too many people jump to the conclusion the card is faulty when realistically it's their lack of knowledge... just saying. This card is currently/permanently out of stock but I would recommend a similar version if you were on a budget. If money isn't an issue or you can spare some cash buy an EVEGA card.

Cons: Out of stock and doesn't make sandwiches

Other Thoughts: Covered all of them in the pros section.

2 out of 5 eggsOverheating

Pros: Low price, prettty good $/Performance.

Cons: Very high temperature with the stock cooling.

Other Thoughts: AMD's throttling feature can be very annoying. If it sees that you have a web browser up it'll throttle your clock speeds down, even if you have a game playing.

I've had this card for a year to this day and it's hitting 98 degrees Celsius when playing Darklight Retribution, which forces me to shut my computer off for fear of the card harming itself.

Even with fan speed at 100%, my idle temperature is 50-60C which is obsurd.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality card

Pros: Plays games like TF 2, Counter Strike: Source and Minecraft on Max settings, no problem. Not sure you're going to run into a game where you can't play on at least high settings. Have yet to experience a single problem with it.

Cons: I've tried this card in two different cases and each one it was some-what of a pain to get it to sit properly. Needed a bit of force and thats always a scary thing when dealing with computer hardware.
