3 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk, even for PCI

Pros: Purchased to convert an old 486 system to an arcade cabinet.

Cons: Drivers were very outdated and price was high considering the time of purchase and strength of the card.

Other Thoughts: Is still sitting around.
Will be great for a server or test card incase my newer more intense ones die.

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive Video Card

Pros: Low price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This video card works fine with Windows 2000 and Windows 98. I don't do any high speed stuff like games, so I don't know how suitable it would be in such an application. But videos play just fine.

3 out of 5 eggshonest and truthful REVIEW

Pros: Good for basic graphic computing and business. You can also use it for dual monitors which is good if you have a lot of windows up at the same time.
also wanted to comment on "32MB V-RAM!!!" by on

Cons: Would not recommend for gaming. 3 reasons.
1)It does not have much memory
2)It lacks in GPU power also memory core clock speed
3)It doesn't have a PCI-E INTERFACE!!!
THIS IS NOT A GAMING CARD. Great for old PCs and business but not gaming.

Other Thoughts: The 32MB V-RAM!!! review by on ,is incorrect all of the place. For one there is no possible way to have a OC/overclocking of 12ghz. First of all it is impossible to overclock to 7ghz in the first place, even with Liquid Nitrogen. It is also very dangerous to over clock at all if you do not know what your doing. Even with that Liquid Nitrogen it would not be running that cold. It would be so hot it would melt the board in which it was attached. And lastly DDR3 is not compatible with the board he/she has stated. I'm only saying this is because at the year he wrote this review the nForce 790i Ultra was not very compatible with DDR3 @ 2000mhz. My friend bought the card and had me review it for him/her before he/she put it in his PC. He/she was running a P4 running at 3.0ghz with 1.5gb of DDR RAM at 400mhz. his board was a P4M900M4 478 VIA P4M900 Micro ATX board, find it on Newegg.
I love Newegg, but I dislike people who don't know what there talking about. I agree, CAB great for older PC

5 out of 5 eggsWhat an id

Pros: Just wanted to comment on "32mb V-RAM" review below- some kids shouldn't know how to type.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: The reviewer below is most likely some 15yr old gaming dork who can't see much past his pimples. Not all people live for gaming and believe it or not some PC's are actually used for actual productivity (WORK, not that many teens actually know what that is). This card is not ment to play your Crysis games, it's intended for multi-monitor setups and it's great that it offers excellent compatitbility with older hardware/technology (32mb and PCI slot is perfect for legacy OS's like Win98). If you need either of the above, then this is the card for you.

5 out of 5 eggs32MB V-RAM!!!

Pros: Amazing- 32MB of video RAM, this is the card for you if you wanna get 3.8GB of RAM out of vista 32. I can play CS 1.6 on HIGH!!!

Cons: Price...obviously...

Other Thoughts: QX9650 OC'd at 12.6GHz (stays at 2 degrees celcius due too my liquid nitrogen cooling), 8GB DDR3 2000MHz, this card, 8x128GB SSDs, nForce 790i Ultra, with liquid nitrogen cooling.

4 out of 5 eggsMultiple Monitors

Pros: This is an excelent product for corporate environments where multiple monitors are required. The workstations at our office run a minimum of 3 montiors for paperless accounting work and these cards are excellent as they work in a regular PCI slot.

Cons: Old technology but serves a distinct purpose.

5 out of 5 eggsAdded 2nd monitor to Dell computer

Pros: Once I got it installed and working, no problems. Works great. I installed it on a Dell Dimension 3000, Pentium 4, 3 GHz, to add a second monitor. The monitor is the ACER AL1716FBD also purchased from Newegg. Great combination. Having more than one monitor is essential for my job. This was relatively easy, but I've had experience with multiple monitors. My home computer has 4.

Cons: Installation instructions didn't help much. When I first installed the card and booted up, both old and new monitors were blank. I had to go into the BIOS and change one of the selections from AUTO to Onboard Video. I don't remember the name of that selection at the moment, and can't check it without rebooting. However once that was done, my main monitor came up properly. Then I extended the desktop onto the second monitor (using Display under Control Panel) and the job was done.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a gamer, but I built my home computer using parts purchased from Newegg. I see most of the negative comments on this card come from gamers, so it probably isn't suitable for at least some games. For me, for non-gaming use, it's great.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Budget Card / Old PC Upgrade

Pros: VGA, S-Video, and DVI make this video card adaptable to many different kinds of monitors and uses. Installed fairly easily, WindowsXP SP2 even had the driver w/o needing to install it from the software disc. Most users will be up quickly.

Cons: ATI Control Panel software IS NOT INCLUDED! For most users/purposes this is not really necessary. However the default windows display settings will not allow you to select the S-Video output as the primary monitor (only the VGA or DVI port). That means if you want to run say, ZSNES on a TV you'll need the ATI Control Panel installed to override the windows settings.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to attempt to use it on an old Dell XPS300, which is a Pentium II 300mhz machine. The idea was to play console emulated games via a TV. The PC is admirably running this video card way below min spec (as well as Windows XP!!). So...yes you can!
