3 out of 5 eggsFor an old card it keeps up but its hot and LOUDER THAN A BLENDER

Pros: -Kept up with new releases until about a year ago on med-low settings
-You dont need to heat the room that you have your desktop in, the exhaust from this could toast bread.
-Could fry an egg on it if you wanted
-Blocks out noise from Gf/Wife

Cons: -Runs hot, like really hot. REALLY REALLY REALLY H-O-T. Idles at 55C, max load sits at 85c+ with it touching the 90's and before you ask i have a huge case with a half dozen fans.
-The Fan is so loud that it has actually woken up my girlfriend and given me headaches if i sit near my desktop without a headset, id recommend industrial ear protection because being on the flight deck of a busy aircraft carrier would probably be less deafening.
-Huge and heavy. I was concerned about it breaking the pci slot over time from the sheer stress.

Other Thoughts: A friend gave me this a couple years ago to get my build started and it is a good graphics card, however if you do come into possession of one of these not getting an aftermarket cooler for it isnt an option unless you want to go deaf in one ear and like a 190f thing inside your computer.

2 out of 5 eggsCustomer Service a JOKE!

Pros: Upgraded a few systems to duel cards, and they worked fantastic.

Cons: Just after one year, one of my cards started to show artifacts on the screen and the RMA process was started...

!!!Customer Service is a total Joke!!!

Other Thoughts: I knew something was up when I first opened a support ticket for a failed card, had nothing but slow responses and resistance the whole process, when the card was finally sent back for RMA it was returned with the fan shroud broken and stickers all over it saying it had been tampered with... this card was STOCK, no screw ever turned. take pictures before you send it back for RMA people! oh and it wasn't damaged in shipping. it was in original box and double boxed.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after 23 months

Pros: Worked great..for 23 months.

Cons: 5 year warranty claim should not be advertised. Even though I registered my 6970, Diamond has no record of it but I had to register it to send in for the rebate that was offered. RMA'd the card and it was returned unrepaired even though I send them the serial number and copy of the invoice. Last Diamond product I will ever buy, period.

Other Thoughts: No more Diamond products for me..ever.

2 out of 5 eggsthe WORST tech support

Pros: great card awesome rendering.

Cons: The WORST tech support ever. the web portal sucks, I tried uploading a pdf of my invoice and couldn't do it so I emailed it to the tech address on the inquiry 5 times and they still didn't get it. none of my questions were responded to online. I had to call to get the rma number and then after getting the card the asked for the invoice again. everytime I call I get the same guy. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE STAY AWAY !!!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome for BF3

Pros: fast and best value for $$ keeps up with nvidia. used to be an nvidia fan boy now i really like these cards...comes with CFX bridge but a short one your MB should have a longer one and space out for better airflow!

Cons: Heat these cards run really hot give them plenty of room or water cool it. this is not a diamond issue this is a flaw in the refrence cooler design.

Other Thoughts: As for diamond warranty i have had Zero Issues with them one of my cards went down 4 months ago and rma and got it back within a week.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes It Have...

Pros: Not Yet, planning on buying it.

Cons: Box only have a crossfire bridge.

Other Thoughts: If anyone has gotten this card, can you give a "Yes" on this comment if this card comes with a Crossfire bridge. If it doesn't come with one, put, "No"

5 out of 5 eggsFeel the Power

Pros: I went from a 4850 to this beast. I has literally destroyed everything I have thrown at it. Running Eyefinity with 3x 22'' displays with total resolution of 5760x1080.

Cons: Card runs hot. Like surface of the sun hot. Had to buy a new case just to get enough airflow to it.

Other Thoughts: I had this card in a fully ventilated Antec 300 and it would overheat. After 2 shutdowns picked up an Antec 1200 v3 and haven't had a problem since. Lesson learned, just because you have enough clearance in a case to fit the card doesn't mean you can cool your card.

5 out of 5 eggsDont wait, buy!

Pros: Great card. Upgraded from 2x 4870s, difference was shocking. Plays everything maxed out 1900x1200. Slowly overclocking, currently at 930/1400 no problem, more room left.

Cons: Wife will not agree to threesome with card.

Other Thoughts: Phenom 2 955@3.7ghz, 8GB ram.
Could not afford new build, had to decide between i5 mobo/cpu or video card first. Glad I got the 6970, you will be too!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat reference card.

Pros: As others have said - this is a reference design card and one of the last to be available (although it looks like it is sold out, currently). Bought 2 for CrossFireX. Both have OC'd to 950 MHz core and 1450 MHz memory with no problems in everything I've thrown at it.

Cons: Fans are loud - but they do the job well. Card stays cool under load. But yeah...LOUD. :-)

Other Thoughts: A lot of folks don't know who Diamond is - but they've been around for a long time and I recently called them for some things (checking on 6990 stock) - they were great. Real people in the U.S. answered the phone. Can't beat that.
