5 out of 5 eggsGreat videocard!

Pros: PCI Express 16x videocard with 256 MB DDR2 memory! Silent, too, as it needs no fans for active cooling. Great video signal output.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Terrific upgrade from the ATI Radeon 9600 AGP 8x videocard that I was using previous to this. Needs no 6- or 8- pin PCI-E connectors from the power supply, either!

Cons: I have gone three of these cards there is something wrong with them i can have my comp up and running within 45 min. of getting the card but within the first 4 hours it stops working properly and starts showing just random bits of code and none of the text in the bios screen lines up right i have the asus p5k-se motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggshuge improvement over onboard video

Pros: low price, big bang for the buck, Asus quality

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought this to upgrade my new system -- ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus, AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core, & 2 gig DDR 2 RAM. This card replaces my stock Nvidia 6150SE onboard video, and my system feels faster overall now. Games like "GTA: San Andreas", "Xpand Rally", "Half-Life 2", etc. run much smoother, and I can run these games at max settings now so the games look better with more detail.

It was easy to install. I just unplugged my cables, inserted it into the PCI-E slot, and Vista recognized it right away and installed the correct drivers and erased the old drivers for the onboard video. I'll buy a better card (8500 or better) in a year or so, but this should be fine for now. I can run "Bioshock", "Crysis", and "Orange Box" now.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works very well. easy to install.

Cons: Very large heat sink and quite heavy. be sure you install this into your pci slot very good and screw down well so that it wont vibrate loose do to the weight of the heat sink. Mine vibrated loose a little. Pulled out put it back in and works great.

Other Thoughts: I think the card runs a little warm. be sure you have good air flow through out the case.

1 out of 5 eggsComponent out ... don't

Pros: Probably a decent video board for regular use.

Cons: I purchased this to use with an EVGA 112-CK-NF77-A1 motherboard in order to get component video out capability. I labored for weeks trying to get an acceptable picture on my Philips HDTV and never succeeded. I attempted to use 480p and 1080i modes and neither produced a picture that was anywhere near the quality I got from my dedicated HD tuner box. I have an old system with an AGP video card with S-video TV out that produced a better picture than this one. I tied both Linux and Windows, and even used the Powerstrip video utility in Windows to adjust the timings. Nothing worked. There was either huge overscan or underscan. I can't understand why my DVD player and digital tuner can produce a really high quality image on my HDTV, and this video card's component output is so terrible.

Other Thoughts: If you're trying to build a HTPC, it's probably wise to stick with a digital output signal to your HDTV.

4 out of 5 eggsFollow Up with Vista SP1

Pros: I'm now able to run the Supreme Commander Demo with all settings at Med/High 1280x1024 without problems. Card handles things quite nicely. Didn't need a PSU upgrade to try it out. Full 1.0 boost to Vista score (3.7 to 4.8) from the onboard.

Cons: Lacks DX10/h264 support in GPU.

Other Thoughts: Have Spec'd this card as main budget card for all new builds and several upgrades. Works well for business needs, web surfing, email and such and for those building a budget system or upgrading on the cheap, this offers better bang then the 85/86 GT's since DX10/h264 support isn't big issue for business users as yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price

Pros: I bought 2 of these to set up SLI on my system and they work great! With no fan they are silent and the increase in FPS and resolution is amazing.

Cons: The heat sink is hot to the touch as others have mentioned, just don't touch it and keep your wires away and you'll be fine.

Other Thoughts: I've been slowly upgrading my system for performance and quiet operation and these cards offer both. Even having 2 of these running games with only one fan in the case the temp doesn't get higher than 135F. AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+, Asus M2N4-SLI, Asus EN7300GT x2, 3GB Kingston HyperX RAM, XCLIO Goodpower 500W power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsvalue, impressive speed & compatiblity

Pros: The card is absolutly hands down best performance for the money. Faster than most 5 and 6 series geforce, lacks GUI and 2D in many head to head comparisons however I don't OC anything. Picked the silent feature and the card is very happy even under benchmark software. Small profile and fits case nicely, drivers loaded without effort!

Cons: up until 2am to setup new machine.

Other Thoughts: KA3 MVP 1.0a ATI chipset!!!, Brisbane 4400+ stock speeds, kingston valuram DDR800 max-timing by-SPD, HT 994mhz, Had no problem loading a Nividia based pcie card on to this machine in either slot. The KA3 is more compatible than people lead on to it.

4 out of 5 eggsBudget Upgrade

Pros: No Fan to fail on a Silent card. Budget Price for a Vista64 card. Didn't need to upgrade PSU as any other card would have needed. SLI Ready

Cons: Older Drives on the CD - Get the newest from Nvidia as they make a big difference under Vista.

Other Thoughts: Got this to upgrade from Intel GMA3000 onboard and went from 3.8 to 4.7 (2d score) on Vista's benchmarks. Much better to get the GT over a more expensive GS/LS model since it's the performance model and at this price, you really can't go wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsMakes the wife happy

Pros: Replaced a 6200TC card with this one. Changed the Vista Experience rating from 2.3 to 4.7 on gaming graphics. Will now run her Sims 2 game with Expansion packs at full tilt boogie. she is extremely happy.

Cons: Heat sink does seem a little loose as others have commented. Perhaps there is a reason for that, but it makes one wonder.

Other Thoughts: Geez it came in a big box... What a waste of packaging.
