5 out of 5 eggsGood video card from Asus.

Pros: Excellent image quality. Very fast in DX9 games. Fully supports SmartDoctor. 512MB of DDR3 memory!

Cons: Fan is a bit loud. No DX10 support.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these cards last year hoping Nvidia would support SLI on Intel chipsets. That hasn't happened, unfortunately, but I don't regret my purchases. This is an excellent card that runs well under Vista with superb image quality to boot. My main gripe is the fan: it gets loud under load but quiets down eventually.

If it supported DX10 it would e perfect. Maybe it can be retrofitted through a future driver update ;-)?

5 out of 5 eggsRMA sent me this

Pros: Had a 7900 GTOC and after about 6 months I got all kinds of tearing, artifacts....found out that 2 chips on it caused overheating...even underclocking it....RMA'd that one and they sent me the same card - but it had 2 broken capacitors...now, a month later I received this card - and it works great! XP or Vista.

Cons: Have heard nightmares from others who RMA'd their stuff from BFG. They're pretty slow and you gotta wait 1 -2 hours for tech. support - just freaking sad/pitiful.

Other Thoughts: BFG blowz - almost made me switch to ATI. If you want an Nvidia card, don't buy the first generation chips, and definitely don't buy BFG - go with XFX, their customer support is inferior.

5 out of 5 eggsEye candy

Pros: Single story card to fit my toolless case without surgery.
Also runs circles around my old machine, but then again, my old machine was 5 years old. I feel compelled to find games that had no chance of running on my onboard video HP eMachine knockoff.

Cons: Card sold out just before I bought it, so I had to buy it from another online seller who shall remain nameless.

Also needs to be reset every once in a while for my 24 fps MP4's to play and not jump.

Other Thoughts: Here's hoping I can get another one, this time from Newegg, for eventual SLI.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems!

Pros: Slapped this card into my PCIex16 slot about four months ago, and it hasn't stopped impressing me since. Capable of running new games at decent quality, and can run last-gen games at totally maxed settings, making them look beautiful. Also runs desktop apps, even in Vista's Aero, with utter smoothness.

Cons: The card is somewhat long, which may or may not be a problem depending on the contents of your computer case. One of my hard drives competed with this this card for space, and I had to bend the card slightly to make it fit. That's not a good way to treat any circuit board, but that the card still works after such abuse speaks for its build quality.

Other Thoughts: I'm not one of those gamers who cares about squeezing out every last frame per second on a the max quality settings of a game that was released yesterday. What I care about most is the *smoothness* of a game's video, allowing the player to immerse himself. This card definitely delivers that.

5 out of 5 eggsReview

Pros: Ok, got the tech issues out of the way and have to say that this card rocks. Have had absolutely no problem with it. Run movies, games, (will run WoW, no sweat), and video shot from a camera. Love it!!!

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: was tempted to get another one of these and run in SLI mode but figured why bother when this one does all I need.

5 out of 5 eggswow

Pros: Very easy install, very smooth operation, oh, did I mention 14,700 3dmarks in 3dmark 05 (SLI), well worth the money,

Cons: None that I've found.

Other Thoughts: performance is comparable to MUCH more expensive cards, (see vga charts at tomshardware.com)
this system is the only one that I have seen that will run ms flight simulator x with ALL settings maxed out completely, there is just a tiny bit of lag, but it is playable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Good specs, runs all my games at there maximum settings at 1600x1200. Half-=life avg 100fps even in the most intense firefights.

Some people have said it is behind on AA and AF. The card comes pretty maxed from the factory, but it has LOT AND LOTs of driver settings that can be turned up( things like transparent AA and other weird stuff I didnt know about). But I imagine you could click on most if not all the extra stuff with a second card in SLI.

It also has a simple overclocking system where GPU can be run from 500-600 and memory from 1300-1500. Some better cooling would be needed.

Cons: Somewhat loud, easily the loudest fan on my machine when it gets under load, which is generally silent at idle/low load.

Other Thoughts: Overall this card is excellent.

Adding a better cooler would be a good upgrade. I plan on going with a water cooling system with this card, which should make for a very stout and also very simple setup when I get SLI.

I run this on an ASUS CrossHair MB with AMD X2 6000, and 2gig dual channel

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Card for the Money

Pros: Fantastic texture and shadow capabilities; 512MB of DDR3 RAM really speeds up loading times and cuts down on lag. The variable speed fan keeps the card quite cool.

Cons: Mediocre anti-aliasing capabilities; it tends to grind down when faced with even low anti-aliasing, often times not allowing you to exceed 4X. However, it can run any game at 1280 x 1024 pixels, so anti-aliasing isn't as necessary.

Other Thoughts: Ideal at maximum settings:
Half-Life 2, Doom 3/Quake 4, Star Wars : Empire at War

Runs well at maximum settings:
F.E.A.R., Battlefield 2, Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
