Here's a video card for the gamer, engineer or artist with precise standards. Using a GeForce 7600GT processor clocked at 560 MHz with 12 pixel pipelines, 256 MB GDDR3 memory; you're not talking "slow display" here!

It has an HDMI connector and a DVI connector (with an adapter so it can be used on VGA-style monitors), and an integrated TV encoder putting out HDTV, S-Video or Composite Video. SLI-ready (so make certain your power supply can handle it!), it features PCI Express support to keep up with that fast GPU, it's Vista ready.

The next generation of games and hi-res applications is here already, so update to a card that knows how to talk to them.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Priced but Works Great!

Pros: I don't understand the LOUD complaints. Mine is not loud at all. As a matter fo fact, it's fairly quiet. Also, HDMI works great om my 46" LCD TV.

Cons: Only issue I have with this card is it's price. Compared to other cards, it's very pricy, even tho it does have an HDMI connection.

Other Thoughts: Overall, a great card. I bought an open-box, so I paid $xx less than retail, but I didn't get any of the cables or anything else that would have come in the retail box, but I can't complain too much...

Cons: like all the other reviews, very loud

Other Thoughts: Built a nice htpc. This is our third card. Works great with HDCP

4 out of 5 eggsGood card but loud

Pros: Nice features on the card.

Cons: LOUD! It is incredibly loud when the fan spins at top speed, which is upon boot or when the card is under heavy load. Unless the rest of your system is loud or you have a lot of ambient noise, you will definitely hear this thing.

Overpriced for what you get. Non-HDMI 7600GTs sell for a lot less.

ASUS "value-added" sofware that comes with the card is worthless and buggy.

Other Thoughts: Price will come down on HDMI-equipped cards over time.

I sold this card on e*ay because I had it longer than 30 days. The noise was unbearable and I couldn't add an aftermarket fan because I needed a single-slot solution in a cramped HTPC.

4 out of 5 eggsHDMI actually works

Pros: HDMI carries audio and video for a clean install. Good graphics card overall. Haven't noticed the fan noise in my Shuttle sb86i.

Cons: Minor artifacting in video (may be solved by driver upgrade; using drivers included with card currently). Hissing / popping audio occasionally; may also be a driver issue. Expensive.

Other Thoughts: I have tried the ATI HDMI solution and I could not get audio to pass through so returned it for this card. This one worked right away and includes a toslink cable to connect spdif optical from motherboard to video card for pass through to tv via hdmi. So far it works.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Good video card and easy to install.

Cons: Manual is basically: Turn off power, open case, insert card, close case, connect monitor, turn on power. I would like to see more details, figures, options, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for HTPC with a Zalman replacement fan

Pros: -HDMI/HDCP with pass through toslink digital audio
-Use with copy-protected Blu-ray or HD DVD movies
-Ready for Windows Vista
-Not overclocked out of the box but overclockable

Cons: -Know that you will absolutely need to replace the fan for any HTPC application as it sounds like a jet landing. If you accept this when you buy it, you will have no problem giving it a 5/5. Go with the ZALMAN VF900 – CU 2 Ball VGA Cooling Fan/Heatsink and it will be nearly silent.

Other Thoughts: The latest software from the NVIDIA (from their website not the CD) had a utility that made correcting overscan / underscan a snap. Did not need Powerstrip.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud

Pros: HDMI/HDCP, PureVideo acceleration / processing works great (only thing saving this from a 2)

Cons: The heatsink is WAY too loud for use in a media center computer, even though that is the obvious target for this card. The speed can be turned down in ASUS SmartDoctor, but I had to put it at 12% to make it as quiet as my MSI Ti4200. The temperatures won't hold long at such a low speed if I use PureVideo HD or play games, so it needs to be turned back up to hair dryer volumes to do anything useful.

Other Thoughts: Should have been bundled with a quiet cooler so I don't have to spend an additional $xx on one.

2 out of 5 eggssound like propeller airplane. TOO LOUD

Pros: Only reason I bought this VGA card is that it came with HDMI

Cons: Sound like propeller airplane TOO LOUD. It is not worth what you are paying for. Heat sink is too loud. I wish ASUS used better heat sink technology. I had to spend another 50 dollars. I took out ASUS heat sink and installed new ZALMAN VF900-Cu VGA cooler, so I could cut the noise.

Other Thoughts: Need better heat sink
