The NVIDIA GeForce8600GTS-based board is SLI ready, supports Microsoft DirectX10 and Shader Model 4.0 letting you play the most advanced games on the market. NVIDIA’s Quantum Technology Advanced Shader Processors deliver advanced physics computational power. And since it comes with 256MB of GDDR3 memory it can run Vista with no problems. Dual DVI ports give you plenty of screen real estate for work or play.

The dual screens let you take advantage of some of ASUS’s unique features. You can run the game on the main screen and have the Gamer OSD and Game FaceMessenger utilities open on the other. Gamer OSD lets you chat and manage your cards settings without having to exit the game-overclock on the fly for maximum control of your game play experience. Or you can use Game FaceMessenger for IM style in-game chats.

Sometimes you want to watch movies, hook your HDTV to one of the DVI interfaces or use the adapter cable for component video connection. Or, if you’d rather watch the movie on your PC then the Splendid Video Enhancing Technology kicks in. Splendid enhances color depth and intensity delivering a cleaner, clearer picture. Pros: Great All around card. Not much more to say here. The other reviews speak for itself.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: Be warned! Your PSU will need a 6pin PCI-E molex connector.

If it dosen't you may want to do a search now and find a PCI Express power adapter before you get your card!

Pros: Quiet! Runs my games quite well in 1600x1200. Doesn't seem to generate as much heat as I was expecting.
Cons: The cooling unit makes this card heavy! I thought I had motherboard issues but it turned out the card was so heavy in the slot that the connections weren't secure.
Other Thoughts: Built a small support for the card & now my case can stand upright with no problems.

Pros: Runs silents and has performed very well with almost all games (Crysis is a bit laggy). Lets me work in photoshop with dual screens with no problems.
Cons: The graphics rendered on this card during gameplay is more pixilated than other cards I have owned. Upgrading to the new series of cards so if you want great picture for gaming get a better card. I think this might have something to do with ASUS video cards.

Pros: This card offers decent performance for most work with no noise. 2-D and simple 3-D applications work perfectly. No overheating problems or weird behavior at stock clock speeds.
Cons: Not suitable for heavy gaming. The included Asus software and drivers are bloatware (a more descriptive term would not be suitable for a family website). Download the latest Nvidia drivers and toss the Asus-supplied disks.
Other Thoughts: This card is heavy. Your case and motherboard need to offer good support or the card flops around.

Works great Runs Hot

Pros: This card seems to be pretty stable. I like the wide range of resolutions it can handle. It's also very fast.
Cons: As I write this nvidia MontiorView reports 49c as the GPU temp. I originally tried to make my system silent, but this card generates far to much heat for that and I had to install a zalman case fan. Previous to that this card would idle about 75c and during gaming I watched it climb to about 106c before I shut it down.
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great card. I'd suggest it to anyone looking for budget fan less performance.
