Great GFX, great for casual gaming
- Pros: Low operating temps, Size, Price + Rebate (if it works), Ease of installation, performance better than 8600GT. OCing is super easy, core maxes at 852MHz and memory at 1512 MHz.
- Cons: 128-bit memory addressing but great value for the money so not really a con. Not that great for DX10 games, but then again, great value for the money.
- Other Thoughts: I play Unreal tournament 2004 on High and UT3 Demo with medium-high settings, and it plays like a charm. I've Played Bioshock demo on medium, FEAR on medium w/1600x1050 and Crysis on low settings, all very smooth w/o AA though.
Anyhow, I bought this and returned the 8600GT I bought from Circuit City. Vista rates it at 5.9, great buy for the money, expecially if the $35 rebate comes through, then It would've cost me $32 bucks :P!
Great deal
- Pros: Nice big heatsink. Even in an mATX case with full load on the video and CPU temps for the card stay around 70C.
- Cons: You lose the slot next to the card due to the HSF, but it's worth it.
Great value!
- Pros: $20 after MIR. I'm not a gamer, so this is an unbelievable value for normal use. Fan is very quiet. I can barely hear it with the case open over my other case fans, and they are all <=11 dBA fans in a Lian Li PC-A05B.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: Great card for non-gamers who want an exceptional Windows experience.
