not great...
- Pros: Good performance, gives good fps
- Cons: After 2 days it overheated to the point where it gave me a WHITE screen, gave several blue screens probably due to bad hardware, fan is not adjustable with any (at least) mainstream programs, ASUS temperature monitoring not reliable.
ASUS is no longer a reputable company...
- Other Thoughts: I RMA'd the card after a few days - got an evga instead. ASUS, you can do better!
- Pros: Great price with rebate, "pretty" card
- Cons: I bought two for a four monitor setup. One card began to die in a few days, pink screens then blank. The other card was great. Great Newegg return policy but sadly Asus changed item numbers, so an exchange was not allowed. Both cards were EN8800GT/G/NTDP/512M RT, but different item numbers?????. Newegg allowed me to return the good card and I went with two BFG 8800GT's. Asus box was way to big, lots of wasted space.
- Other Thoughts: Compared to the Asus, the BFG's are a bit smaller size wise and are heavier and more solidly built (thicker board, heat sinks don't wiggle), with a smaller but quieter fan assembly. More expensive but probably worth it. Newegg and I couldn't understand why Asus changed the item numbers but left the description the same. I don't think BFG plays those games. Also, the BFG"s came in a much smaller box and were better packed.
This card rocks!
- Pros: It's been a long time since I've bought a brand new card, usually I scavenge off my friends who keep more updated. Coming from a 7800GTX, this thing is awesome! And the price is right, even with the HD 4850 on the market. I was able to hit a 700mhz OC out of the box.
- Cons: I don't have SLi on my board to buy two.
- Other Thoughts: Brand new E8400/ OCZ 2gb DDR2 800/ASUS EN8800GT = I'm happy!
