Nice card for the money
- Pros: Silent of course - no fan.
Inexpensive for a desktop card capable of true HD
Ample outputs - DVI, HDMI, VGA
- Cons: I'm being picky here. I needed to use the VGA Out to test a monitor and noticed the VGA output is located a little too close to the case when using the high profile bracket. There was not enough space between the card's VGA port and the case to attach the monitor's VGA connector.
This really isn't a big deal since almost no one uses VGA only, and the included DVI to VGA adapter solved that problem.
Also not really a con but a possible concern for some: If you get no video be sure to check the motherboard BIOS if you have on board video before blaming the card. This one was black as night when I booted up. I expected the board to switch automatically but it didn't. I had to enter the BIOS with the OB video and then change the video to PCI. Worked like a charm after that.
- Other Thoughts: The card gets warm but so far not really hot. Cooling should not be a problem if you have ample air moving through the case.
Windows 7 scores are 3.5 for desktop performance and 5.1 for gaming.
Using a Kill-a-Watt the wattage increase was less than 10 watts over on board ATI-2100.
I'm using a Gigabyte board, AMD 45W 5050e, 2 sticks of RAM, 3 hard drives and one DVDRW and the computer averages 67W idle and a little over 100W under load. It was in the upper 50's before adding the card so it's not a power hog.
You know what the card is and what it isn't. For good, clean video it has plenty of output options it performs very well for everyday use and media, including home theater. Even light to moderate gaming would not be out of the question as long as you don't expect it to perform the impossible.
I have not tried surround sound over HDMI so I can't comment on that.

- Other Thoughts: A VERY GOOD GRAPHICS CARD FOR HDTV
Used for Dual Monitors @ Work
- Pros: I recommended this card to a co-worker. This card was used for dual monitors. He only uses office, IE, pdf and the usual work environment programs. Does the job very well so far.
- Cons: none.
- Other Thoughts: For dual monitors and no gaming/graphics demand this will do the job in a very affordable way.
