5 out of 5 eggsNice card for the money

Pros: Silent of course - no fan.
Inexpensive for a desktop card capable of true HD
Ample outputs - DVI, HDMI, VGA

Cons: I'm being picky here. I needed to use the VGA Out to test a monitor and noticed the VGA output is located a little too close to the case when using the high profile bracket. There was not enough space between the card's VGA port and the case to attach the monitor's VGA connector.

This really isn't a big deal since almost no one uses VGA only, and the included DVI to VGA adapter solved that problem.

Also not really a con but a possible concern for some: If you get no video be sure to check the motherboard BIOS if you have on board video before blaming the card. This one was black as night when I booted up. I expected the board to switch automatically but it didn't. I had to enter the BIOS with the OB video and then change the video to PCI. Worked like a charm after that.

Other Thoughts: The card gets warm but so far not really hot. Cooling should not be a problem if you have ample air moving through the case.

Windows 7 scores are 3.5 for desktop performance and 5.1 for gaming.

Using a Kill-a-Watt the wattage increase was less than 10 watts over on board ATI-2100.

I'm using a Gigabyte board, AMD 45W 5050e, 2 sticks of RAM, 3 hard drives and one DVDRW and the computer averages 67W idle and a little over 100W under load. It was in the upper 50's before adding the card so it's not a power hog.

You know what the card is and what it isn't. For good, clean video it has plenty of output options it performs very well for everyday use and media, including home theater. Even light to moderate gaming would not be out of the question as long as you don't expect it to perform the impossible.

I have not tried surround sound over HDMI so I can't comment on that.

5 out of 5 eggsUsed for Dual Monitors @ Work

Pros: I recommended this card to a co-worker. This card was used for dual monitors. He only uses office, IE, pdf and the usual work environment programs. Does the job very well so far.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: For dual monitors and no gaming/graphics demand this will do the job in a very affordable way.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Well!

Pros: HDMI over Audio works with no issues. I was worried about that with all the negative reviews on the interweb.

Cons: Overscan issue when running at 1080p through HDMI. I had to change refresh rate to 59Hz from 60Hz to make it stretch on my screen. Seems like quite a few people have the same issue and ATI has stated it is a problem.

Other Thoughts: Overall works well for the price!

4 out of 5 eggsbought it

Pros: this card now allows me to play cod4 on LOW settings
with my hybrid crossfire....guess i didnt expect much more
but wanted too
i have dual video cards

Cons: when i play cod4 or tf2 it burns up to 85 deg celc
with the hybrid crossfire cranking....

my vista score WENT DOWN from on board
too lazy to mail in rebate

Other Thoughts: it doesnt improve to much..i would much rather have
put this money towards something a lot more powerful
but if you only have 30 dollars and not a high demanding system then go for it like i did

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for crossfireX

Pros: Worked perfectly on my Asus M3A78-EM mobo in crossfireX.

Cons: Does run a little warm...but no issues.

Other Thoughts: If you want to "enhance" the visuals on your onboard HD3200 chipset, this is the way to go!! really makes everything much clearer.

3 out of 5 eggsLow profile issues

Pros: It is a decent dual video card

Cons: The low profile adapter is configured for the PCI-E slot to be on the right hand side (when looking from the front of the PC to the back plate). Every mainboard I have seen has the PCI-E slot on the far left hand side. This is a serious problem when using the low profile option.

5 out of 5 eggsNice basic fanless card.

Pros: Inexpensive, fanless, energy efficient, runs older games like FarCry and anything Source engine. Doesnt get hot just warm.

Cons: NOT a gamers card, forget high rez in games, it isnt sold or intended for that.

Other Thoughts: I have the VEngine heatsink with the SVGA out, not the HDMI with the minimalist heatsink. My card doesnt seem to be available anymore from NewEgg.ca (Item#N82E16819103298)
I'm using the ATI drivers, I never use the CD in the box.
M/B Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H with 5050e CPU.

1 out of 5 eggsBOUGHT 2 CARDS, BOTH FAILED

Pros: NONE EVERY ASUS PRODUCT I HAVE BOUGHT THE LAST 6 MONTHS (3) HAS FAILED WITHIN 2 WEEKS OR SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK UPON ARRIVING. Newegg rocks, they got me the cards lightning fast.

Cons: The drivers provided on the CD AND on the ASUS site don't work. No one at ASUS will respond to my requests for help. I bought two of these cards so this is my 2nd review.

Other Thoughts: ASUS will not respond. Even after receiving a "reference number" or whatever they still won't help. I bought two of these cards, you would think at least one would work.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
