5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Freaking awesome. From a BFG 8600 GTS to this was the difference of 15-17 FPS in Crysis to 25-32 on hacked ultra high settings (Dx9) and TF2 maxed with 75+ all the time (dx10). I couldn't be happier with it and have recommended it to everyone that is in the market for a new video card. People have complained about a loud fan, but i have an open sided case and haven't had any problems. Smart Doctor is amazing, giving me a 3d mark 06 score of 12859, beating my BFG 8600 GTS by over 5500.

Cons: absolutely none, which surprises me. Just had a few internal issues with drivers on my end, not the card.

Other Thoughts: Install drivers from the included CD, they are older than 178.24 which are brand new, but they enable smart doctor. If you want, you can then uninstall them and reinstall the newest Nvidias. Make sure to clean off drivers from any other card before installing this one, it will save you a lot of time.

My specs:
Intel E6750 2.66 GHz @ 3.45
2 Hdds 1 SATA 1 UATA
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
2 Gigs OCZ HPC Reaper Ram (forgot timings)
Coolermaster 650W SLI-ready power supply
ASUS 9800GT at 800 core clock 2148 Mhz Memory clock and 2000 Shader @40C idle around 50C full load (Crysis, farcry 2 etc.)

Buy one if you can get your hands on it, better than alot of cards much more expensive and i easily overclocked higher than any 9800 GTX +

1 out of 5 eggsWas a geat card...

Pros: This card was awesome for 2 days.

BUT

see below

Cons: Then the VGA fan stopped working and now the card runs super hot! And once the fan stopped working, Graphics for games now suck.... i can hardly play WoW ffs.

Other Thoughts: I think this would be an awesome card if it hadn't died on me....

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Vid Card!!!

Pros: This thing is great!! Overclocking is easy as pie, and it doesn't need all that extra power input. Needs only one 6 pin connector!!!

Cons: Really can't think of any at all!

Other Thoughts: I Read some reviews about the smartdoctor program not working for them. Not the case for me, the programs that came with the card all work great. I adjusted the fan speed to make the card cooler and it worked like a charm. This card is a must buy!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance at a cheap price

Pros: Performs as good or better than cards almost twice the price

Cons: runs very HOT
fan pretty noisy

Other Thoughts: This has been a great card so far. Pretty much handles whatever I throw at it and asks for more.
The thing runs pretty hot, for me idles at 45 C and approaches 60 C at load. Make sure your case has adequate cooling. Also make sure it has room, the card is as long as the MB is wide.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME CARD

Pros: This card blows every game out of the water. Battlefield 2 is maxed out along with half life 2 and yes, even crysis is running flawlessly at high settings. It does occasionally get really hot but the software lets you adjust fan speeds to your liking.

Cons: I only have one problem but its nothing big. At startup the fan will sound like a jet for 5-10 seconds the it goes quiet.

Other Thoughts: Im running a core 2 duo e6750 2.66ghz, 2gb ocz, asus p5n-d mobo and of course this card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: For those looking for a really nice, fast card at a very reasonable price, look no further. I'm playing Bioshock, Half Life 2 episode one and two on high settings and the games run very smooth. I like the fact that it is dual slot with exhaust fan. Keeps card and case cool.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Might be too big of a card if you are running a very small case. I'd check out the dimensions if you are. I'm running a mid and it fits nice.

5 out of 5 eggsSO Much more than just a GT!

Pros: This card is POTENT! What this write up won't tell you is that, while MOST 9800GT cards are built around a standard 8800GT, THIS card is actually built around the MUCH more powerful 8800GTS-512, and then clocked up to a scorching 725MHz core. What's more, this bad boy can be overclocked WELL beyond that - apparently up to 852MHz core. It really is the 900 pound gorilla of the 9800GT world.

What's more, this card is reasonably cool and QUIET (well, relative to other 9800's). The double-wide design really helps to move the heat out of the case.

Cons: I personally don't view this as a CON so much as a CAVEAT - The card is BIG, and quite long. If you have a tiny case, you'll need a shoe-horn, or perhaps some sort of dimensional rift to fit it in.

Honestly, bang-for-buck, I can't really find anything wrong with this card itself.

Other Thoughts: Want more DEFINITIVE proof??

There is a review out there, comparing quite a few 9800GT cards, a 9800GTX card, an ATI 4850 and a 4870.. 9 times out of 10, this card BEAT the 9800GTX AND beat the 4850..

.. This INCLUDES Crysis DX9 (33.56 FPS @ 1280x1024, high details, 2xAA, 64-bit) and Crysis DX10 (31.9 FPS @ 1280x1024, high details, 2xAA, 64-bit)

..and let's look at Overclocks

Core: 852Mhz
Shaders: 2056Mhz
Memory (DDR): 2220Mhz

Want to read the whole review?

Do a google search for " hardwarecanucks 9800gt" and prepare to be BLOWN away by this card.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy one!

Pros: Finally built my first PC, installed this puppy and first thing I did was install Crysis. All settings up to Very High and the game runs smooth as butter. Unbelievable card for the price. Also came with Assassin's Creed instead of Alone In the Dark. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

Cons: Fan is louder than all of my other fans put together in my Antec 900 case. Just another excuse to turn my speakers up louder :)

Other Thoughts: Was having a little trouble getting it to detect at first, but it was a problem with the Asus MoBo and onboard graphics. ASUS Tech Support immediately helped resolve this issue.

5 out of 5 eggsVery suprised

Pros: 3dmark vantage scored higher than mom's evga 9800 gtx+ with the core clock bumbed up only 13mhz to 9800 gtx speed. Got an open box deal for 105 bucks. I couldnt be happier, best money I think ive ever spent on a computer part. Runs Crysis turned up all the way smooth as glass. Really pleased. Also nice pic, not some big sweaty guy on there.

Cons: Trying hard to think of one, just cant.

Other Thoughts: I think I got the only open box asus 9800gt ultimate available, I'll be looking for another one. Great card.

4 out of 5 eggsLittle confused

Pros: Pushes through Crysis on high with playable frame rates, performing better than my 8600 it replaced, but more on that. Love the hot air going out the back. Dell Inspiron mini towers aren't exactly built for heat dispersion.

Cons: Seem to get less frame rates on WOW than with my 8600. Don't understand it. Not quite the frame rates I was expecting in some games.

Other Thoughts: Running Vista, 2 gig mem, 2.1 ghz dual core AMD CPU. The 8600 GT this card replaced went into a new PC with Vista, 2 gig mem, and a 2 ghz dual core intel CPU (almost identical power), and it often gets more of a frame rate in WOW than mine with a 9800 in it now. This I don't understand.
