5 out of 5 eggsMMMMM :)

Pros: Powerful, Nice looking (for clear side window owners), Cheap, and comes with basically an aftermarket cooling solution

Cons: None, except that it sold out right when I wanted to buy another to finally SLI :)

Other Thoughts: Its a big card, measure twice, buy once. Just bought another one of these babies to SLI and I am looking forward to enthusiast mode in Crysis Warhead, and Frapsing in WoW on max settings!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Fantastic card. Runs anything I through at it. Running dual 22" monitors at 1440 x 900 with no problems. Very smooth video using blu ray.

Cons: Not a con, just a note. Card is long, make sure your case can handle it. I knew this up front, and was not an issue. Runs on the hot side. Uses 2 SLI power connectors

Other Thoughts: MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum
AMD Phenon x4 9950
Antec 850W PS
8 Gb Mushkin 1066

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING

Pros: Very simply, a great card. I was a little pessimistic about its heat displacement because the fan is on the small side, but, it runs very cool. I can easily run Crysis and Fallout 3 on Max with absolutley no lag.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: 5 eggs

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card

Pros: This card doesnt slow me down the least bit even with all settings maxxed in any game. The fan is pretty quiet and it looks great too. Installed easily and with no problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I wish that I had bought 2 now. This card has to be really killer in SLI.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Graphics card - smart design

Pros: Excellent performance for all my needs (gaming, HD video editing, HD playback). I currently plan to go SLI for the first time (Thank you . . . thank you) using two of these cards for some really high demand gaming on into the future. Absolutely no performance issues, and driver update was smooth.

Cons: My only regret (as I write this on March 12, 2009) is that they are currently out of stock at newegg. Hope they are back in soon so I might be able to purchase another one.

Other Thoughts: Card comes with a full complement of connectors, a very nice open heat sink which seems to dissipate heat nicely, and it is incredibly quiet. Takes up two PCI slot spaces (are there any out there that do not anymore?). Comes with power adapter (molex to SATA). Great reviews on this card specifically elswewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Runs cool, look great, runs excellent! I like where Asus puts the power connectors on this card, that was my main factor in buying this card. Of course I have a big case and the hard dives are no wheres near close to the card to have issues with this.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this card as an open box item and it has been spectacular. I can run Crysis at near max setting with v sink enabled! V sink takes a big hit on video cards, but Crysis looks like crud without it turned on. This option is in the cards video options, not in Crysis and also set the cpu frame rendering to the highest you can which I believe is 8.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: Good looking! Can't help but marvel at how slick this thing looks with the tube and heat sink coated in what looks like a black chrome coating. Sharp!

Well built, doesn't feel flimsy or fragile.

Out of this world performance! This thing runs everything I can throw at it...hi def video, high end games on max settings, hi-res images...anything!

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: A bracket extension or something to support the end where the pci-e connectors are would be comforting.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Video Card for 3D Games

Pros: Very stable and easy to setup.

Extremely quiet active cooler even when under an intensive load.

Included software actually does what it claims to do as far as overclocking and thermal protection.

Almost any kind of connection you can think of is included so compatibality with displays shouldn't be an issue.

Crisp and clear immages in any environment 2D or 3D

Lots of resolution choices are available.

Quality in PCB design and manufacture is nothing less than you would expet from a company like ASUS.

Cons: Instructions may seem a little obscure for a newbie but any techie will feel right at home with the install.

If you use the most current Nvidia Drivers from Nvidia's website all the OC and thermal protection software that comes with the card will not work.

Power connections are located at the end of the PCB which makes a long video card even longer and may hinder it's install in a small case, however anyone who has ever installed a high end GeForce video card before will know that even with a large case they can be a bit of a squeeze.

2D performance is very weak. It scored less than a ATI Radeon 200 Express on Passmark that was in my old system...an e-machine with an Athlon 64 3800+ and 1gb shared video ram running xp. This is not a card to get if you want windows desktop performance (in my opinion)...but it is a beast in the 3D environment of games or graphic design software.

Other Thoughts: Buying an ASUS video card is like buying a Ferrari over a Corvette. they both get the job done but the Ferrari does it with class. If ASUS would make their software compatable with the Nvidia Drivers this card would be nothing short of perfect. I rated my pc's exact specs against others using 3DMark06 and with this video card scored almost 12,000...the closest pc with my exact specs was over 3,000 points less. And by the way that was without any overclocking and with Nvidia's drivers.

My current system is as follows:

NZXT Apollo Case with NZXT 800W Power Supply
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Retail using stock cooler)
ASUS P5N-D Motherboard
A-Data 2X2Gb DDR800 Dual Channel Kit
ASUS "Black Knight" GeForce 9800 GTX+ Video Card
Western Digital Black Series 500Gb SATA Hard Drive
ASUS 22X Lightscribe DVD Recorder SATA
nMEDIAPC Card Reader
Logitec Wave Desktop
Windows Vista Ulitmate 64-Bit

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best ASUS 9800 GTX + Awesome

Pros: I first had the EVGA 9800 GTX, which as a cheaply made card, not designed well. The ASUS 9800 GTX + is an awesome card. The 6 PIN power slots are placed in the back which is smart. The cooling is awesome. I idle at 46C and top out at 52C. I get 5.9 on windows performance test. I am in the top 0% on PCPitStop without overclocking. Games: RedAlert3, WC3,WoW, CoD World at War. With graphics at full no problems.

Cons: None really. I did first install the card and it ran without the VGA driver disk. Then I inserted the disk like an idiot and my screen went black after boot. I uninstalled the drivers but still not help. I finally had to go to ASUS website and download the latest drivers and install in safe mode, then it worked. So if you have Vista 64 bit, do not use the VGA driver disk or the utilities disk. Download the latest ones from ASUS.

Other Thoughts: Dell Inspiron 530.
PSU 650 Watts.
Intel Quad 2 Core Q8200
Vista 64 bit.
4GB of Dual Channel RAM
500 SATA
ASUS 9800 GTX +
