5 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC

Pros: Sufficiently powerful for a HTPC. Handles 1080p playback with audio over HDMI. Fanless design is nice and quiet. Doesn't get overly hot either.

Also powerful enough to run Minecraft.

Cons: Nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for its purpose

Pros: Runs Dual Monitors reasonably well.
Cheap, simple solution to low end video requirements.

Cons: Massive Heatsink. But since there is no fan on it, it's understandable.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 of these for seperate computers. Each are able to run dual monitors without any problems. These computers are for Low Video business purposes (eg. Office documents, Quickbooks, web surfing, etc). They fit into a Dell Optiplex 780...kinda. Had to bend a couple of Fins on the Heat sinks, AND on the back of the case had to cut out part of the mesh so that I could mount the VGA port. Not a big issue, and not related to the card itself.

Deffinately not up to the tasks of any kind of video gaming. Scored 4.8 on WMI Graphics, and 6.4 on Gaming Graphics. Tho, I wouldn't trust it to play any recent games and hold a reasonable framerate.

2 out of 5 eggsBasic Card NOT

Pros: Relatively low cost.

Cons: Slow business graphics and Aero graphics speed. The latter by over 2 points. The Game graphics are slower, but in the same tier of performance.

Other Thoughts: My older graphics card, older by 1 year which is 20 years in graphic card years, is faster in all categories. Yes, I have downloaded the drivers directly from Asus. No, I was not expecting blazing speed, just a slight improvement.

5 out of 5 eggsFits in a Dell Optiplex 7010 MT

Pros: - Silent
- Most advanced nvidia chipset that comes without a fan that I could find
- Relatively inexpensive
- Worked on Windows 7 without a hitch

Cons: - Rather large heatsync, I believe it takes up an extra slot.

Other Thoughts: Two other commenters said that the video card would not fit in a Dell Tower / Dell Optiplex. The brand "Optiplex" has been around for a long time, and Dell has had many different motherboard configurations under that name. Apparently some don't fit this card well as it did for me.

However, with regards to the Dell Optiplex 7010 MT (minitower), this card fit for me without any issue. The Dell 790 MT has a seemingly identical motherboard configuration, so that should work as well.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 39 days

Pros: Small footprint, large heatsink. I use three other Asus video cards, and motherboards, and have never had a problem with Asus products, until now.

Cons: No video output after 39 days, no video output. Same problem (no output) on 3 different platforms.

Other Thoughts: Via email, This morning, I requested a ASUS rma, hopefully they will do the right thing, and resolve this quickly

Manufacturer Response:

Dear w6kkt,

If you have not yet been contacted by Asus for an RMA please email me at cl-jeremy@asus.com (ref#1043-3675) so that I may get you started. I do apologize for the failure of your card after 39 days, but I hope to remedy this by getting you a replacement as quickly as possible.

Regards,
Jeremy
