Fans? We don’t need noisy fans. Gigabyte put a high efficiency heatsink on their GeForce 7300GT based PCI-E based video card for great cooling with absolutely no noise. This makes it a great choice for a media server since there’s no extra fan noise to cause a disturbance. On board there is 256MB of GDDR2 memory to handle the needs of today’s operating systems.

V-Tuner 3 lets you monitor and over-clock your video subsystem for maximum performance. It auto-detects the most suitable settings, eliminating guesswork. It monitors both 2D and 3D clocks plus the memory clock so you know what your card is doing at all times.

  • newegg GIGABYTE V-tuner 3 With GIGABYTE’s V-tuner 3, a monitoring and overclocking utility, dynamically optimize the memory and GPU frequencies with ease. Plus it indicates real-time temperature for the system components integrated with a hardware thermal sensor chip.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat choice for a quiet PC

Pros: As quiet as it gets (no fan), and cheap, too.

Cons: Had to remove the slot cover below it to bring the temp down from 65+ to 53-54 C. Seems to be normal for modern cards, though.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that, even if the card is capable of running at very high temperatures, the motherboard may get overheated locally, which will play hell with its life expectancy.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: good card, yes SLI does work (see below) i purchased two cards each about 3 months apart. usability on these things are great for the price. i have two crt monitors running in 1028X768 32 bit. i did hookup and test my hd tv with the provided adapter and gameing was a bit choppy running 1080I at 1280X768 (wide screen) lowering to 720 didnt help much. movies and other content displayed at a smooth and constant rate. adding the second card was easy and streight foward, everything went as expected. after 3 reboots i was able to install all drivers and get SLI mode running on windows vista, the drivers were instatly recognized and point and click junkies will have an easy time getting this working.

Cons: SLI! come one now, why doesnt nvidia drivers support multi-monitors in SLI mode? intel and AMD support running multi threads on a multi core (or multi CPU) system... i fail to see why this hurdle wasnt tackled yet. i heard 3rd party drivers have limited support for multi monitor and SLI, but havent tried. there is no noticable proformance increase for normal office applications.

Other Thoughts: over all performance for SLI mode is about 60 percent increase for my normal games. i end up toggleing SLI (and rebooting) for each differant mood i am in. i refuse to loose the second monitor because it is just too handy for everything. this is the first system i have tried to work with SLI and i am very glad i purchased the cheap video card to learn about this interesting technology.

5 out of 5 eggsJust right

Pros: Works perfect for video editing and all graphics applications. Gets toasty but that's what you get with a fanless design.Good card for this price.I'm no gamer.

Cons: Just the heat but that was to be expected.

2 out of 5 eggsToaster

Pros: No moving parts so obviously is silent.

Cons: Its a TOASTER there is better 7300GT's out there like the leadtek win-fast 128mb ddr3.

Other Thoughts: Just not impressed at all. I find the cooler to be looks and hype. If you need a fan blowing on it then why not get one with a fan in the first place?
NO this card is not defective!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the money!

Pros: Great card. Works very well with all the games I play. Not exactly super high-end, but makes for a great gaming card for someone who games between 1 and 10 hours a week. The 450Mhz Core Clock is much nicer than the other 7300GT's.

Cons: Runs quite hot. Mine idles midday at 68C and nightly at 64C. Was idling at about 72-ish till i bought a PCI slot fan. It helped cool it enough. So if you have a system that can handle the heat cooling-wise, its the best bang for your buck.

Other Thoughts: Im debating whether SLi would be worth it. I might try it and hope my cards dont get too hot. However this one card works great. So if you're not in the mood for hardcore gaming or intense video rendering, this is your perfect pick. And to ease your worries--it seems to handle the heat quite well up to now. I have had it for several months and havent had a single problem!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great for me

Pros: I bought this for a system I was building and it has done everything i've tried using it with just fine. i'm not a gamer but every game I played with this card worked fine. Obviously this is not a High end card but performs fine with everyday usage and light gaming from what I can tell. Everything I ordered from New Egg came quite quickly and I was pleased. Will use New Egg again!

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Obviously this is Not a High end Gamers card but it runs every game I have used it with fine and I would say it is well worth the $$$$$

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card for the Money!

Pros: Excellent Card! Cheap, only 60 bucks for 256 MB memory!, and does what I bought it to do. I have two of these running in SLI and my performance is breathtaking. Good size for my case and heat sink keeps it running cool, for me atleast. It makes very little noise. This is one of the best cards for the price on the market.

Cons: none that I have found

Other Thoughts: This card is quickly going out of date, what with the new directx 10 craze. I run Vista on a seperate partition and the graphics are still incredible with this card. I plan on running dx 9 until I absolutley have to change, so I hopefully will have these for a little while longer.

3 out of 5 eggscard ok - customer serivce horrible

Pros: card works great. heat is a little bit of a problem, but since i have a secondary fan for the cpu, this also cools the card.

Cons: customer service - zero
tried to get info on the status of a rebate. one full week. ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE.

4 out of 5 eggsNice - but needs work

Pros: Inexpensive, no fan to wear out.

Cons: no overheat alarm, mounting of heatsink is just plain wrong!! In a std case, the heatsink's weight will allow it to separate from the GPU. This evening I just pulled it apart, cleaned both parts and put new dap between them. Next step will have to add spacers to increase screw & spring strength.

Other Thoughts: be preparred that if you start seeing random issues, lockups, automatic shutdowns, you may have a heat problem. Otherwise I would rather this card, than one with a fan that can wear out. But if they added a heat sensor and alarm, it would have made diagnosing much easier!

3 out of 5 eggsMedium performance, runs very hot

Pros: Fanless (see Cons).
Enough memory for a fairly high Vista performance index.
DVI output.
Excellent quality video.

Cons: Fanless, so it runs very hot.
If you have a smart fan in your computer this card will raise the ambient temperature thus raising the speed of the fan. That will partly obviate the advantage of a fanless video card.
A card with a large, slow-spinning fan is much better in that situation and is actually much quieter.

Other Thoughts: Fanless video cards do not always mean quiet computers. Check that the rest of your computer won't get louder to compensate for the heat that builds around this card.
