Pros: Very fast card at its stock speed. Good price and a good name behind it.

Cons: Card was obviously clocked too high from the factory, even at 920mhz memory / 700mhz core. System would lock up and I would intermittently get a pink screen causing me to hard boot. I had to clock the card down to about 675mhz core and 850mhz memory for it to run stable for any period of time. Recently RMA'd the card and am hoping I can pick a new one or that there is a new revision (the pcb states Rev 1.0).

Other Thoughts: Its too bad really. Gigabyte is a great name. This is not NewEgg's fault. I would suggest any other 8800GT over this one. I purchased the card about a month ago and haven't been able to leave a comment since the item was "deactivated".

Pros: It worked for two weeks.

Cons: After two weeks of perfection, the card didn't want to work right anymore. Every time I would play a game it would crash within 15 minutes, sometimes in less than 5. Tried to troubleshoot but nothing worked, had to RMA.

Pros: The card runs most of my games at reasonably high settings and doesn't have too much trouble with a large monitor on graphically low demand games.

Cons: Half-life 2 won't run at even 1280-1024. This is extremely disappointing. Once the card gets warm the stability decreases exponentially. The capacitors at the back of the card get almost hot enough to burn your hand. The card can't keep up with a highly overclocked CPU, it bottlenecks my system even when I take my CPU down to a mere 3.2 Ghz.

Other Thoughts: The card is decent for the price, but don't expect huge improvements. The ratings for the card don't match what your computer will tell you showing that either Gigabyte lies in their description, or the card is incompatible with most diagnostics software. All in all the card just isn't all that it could have been.
