Excellent
- Pros: Great video card it can play anything online gaming.
- Cons: NA
- Other Thoughts: I got this video card and but did not came with crossfire x bridge. When you look at the spec of this gigabyte hd 4850 it says come with crossfire X bridge. but mine did not. i don't know if it has been missing or purposely removed from package. Complaint.
Built for High Performance...
- Pros: Hard to beat a guaranteed (for 3-years) 75MHz OC, including a decent Zalman 2-heat pipe cooler. (The cooler alone would probably cost an extra $30-$40 over the stock cooler of another brand.) For the extra ~$20 a GB of GDDR3 costs over a typical 512MB version of this card you get the assurance it will handle 1920x1080 HDTV and gaming.
- Cons: Like others have mentioned, the cooler fan IS quite audible; can clearly hear it above the 4 120mm fans in my case. However, I'd rather have an excellent cooler with some fan noise than a quiet one that runs the GPU too hot under load. (Just make sure you have a well-ventilated case, since this card lacks an rear exhaust outlet vent.) The only other issue I've encountered (which has also affected all the ATI 780G/790G integrated graphics mobos I've used) is blurry text when using the DVI > VGA adaptor though an analog KVM. Running straight DVI or the DVI > VGA adaptor directly to the monitor works fine. My Nvidia 7900GS card doesn't have this problem...
- Other Thoughts: A very well-built card with typical Gigabyte high-quality components.
The Cure for Nvidia Driver Blues
- Pros: Fast, not to expensive, runs everything on high settings flawlessley, stays at 37C, no driver problems!!!
oh yeah, WORKS WITH GA-MA790X-UD4P. idk what went wrong with that one guy's card/board
- Cons: Doesn't come with everything the picture shows, no s-video cable, no crossfire dock, no s-video adapter.
- Other Thoughts: Used to be an Nvidia Fanboy
After a week of driver issues with my Nvidia 9600gt on vista 64, said screw it sent it back and bought this, no headaches, plays everything at max resolution and quality.
