5 out of 5 eggsI wish it was still in stock!!!

Pros: I've had the card for 4 years, and it's ran everything I've thrown at it flawlessly considering the rest of the system's capability. Everything from Age of Conan to Battlefield 3 has run it's course on my HD, and the card still kept going.

Cons: After 4 years of faithful service she's finally showing her age. Game crashes, system freezes and BSODs are finally starting to show up when put under strain by games like Mechwarrior Online and Battlefield 4.

Other Thoughts: I'd gladly replace this card with another of it's kind if available. I guess it's about time to overhaul my system. PCIE 2.0 is out of style.

5 out of 5 eggsBIGGEST SUPER BANG FOR THE BUCK

Pros: I overclocked this beasty to hit 840mhz core & 1200mhz mem (max on catalyst), runs 33'C idle 48'C load on a low vent case

Cons: buy some memsinks or it will artifact within a year if you hit max oc on mem clock

Other Thoughts: i came from a 9550 wich i had over clocked from 150mhz/150mhz to 450mhz/450mhz

if you put some good thermal grease on the heat sink like tx-4 you could probaly hit 1000mhz on core

5 out of 5 eggsBEST GAMING CARD ON A BUDGET HANDS DOWN

Pros: This card is the best bang for buck I've experienced in the past 9 years of building custom computers and actually performs closer to a 4870 then a 4850. Overclocked to max allowable in Catalyst and stayed cool with no artifacts while gaming. Plays GTA IV, COD MW2, Black Ops, AvP, StarCraft 2, Bad Company 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Grid, NFS: Hot Pursuit; CS: Source all very smooth with graphics settings near maxed out if not maxed out at 1680x1050. Get even more value when you purchase two to run in Crossfire, if you don't purchase a second 4850 of the same clock speed the faster one will be down clocked to the slower model.

Cons: Does not have HDMI out to get HD video and audio using one cable but I knew that before I bought it.

Other Thoughts: I had upgraded to this from a 3870 and the performance difference was great and I just recently upgraded to a 5850 for DX11 compatibility and to get Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD through HDMI to my AVR.

2 out of 5 eggsbad experience

Pros: Great graphics when working. Even the screen saver seemed to come alive.

Cons: Card is really, really long.

Other Thoughts: This card lasted me about two days before all kinds of problems occured. Returned it, lost money, and No replacement card! Can't really blame newegg, open box offer.
I give two eggs, one extra for how good it looked when it was working. Maybe I recieved a bad one? As always buyer beware and check the reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic card!!

Pros: Runs all my games on Ultra. I just installed StarCraft2 and it's absolutely beautiful and smooth. Great card for the price. Very pleasantly surprised.

Cons: Very long so it may be cramped when installing it.

Other Thoughts: Card is very much worth the $$. Being able to run all of today's games on maxed out settings for alittle over $100 is great!

5 out of 5 eggsOverclock Dream

Pros: Comes from the factory @ 700MHz with a decent overclock (75MHz), but I am currently running stable at 775MHz. The Zalman HSF keeps the temp at a relatively cool 55C, which is absolutely fine in a graphics card. The memory doesn't have any sort of heat dissipation, but I still have it overclocked to 1050 MHz with no heat problems at all. I was lucky enough to get it for $85 with the $30 rebate, but I would still buy it at the current price.

Cons: Can't disable ATi PowerPlay from the Catalyst driver.

Other Thoughts: Not an issue with the card itself, but still a minor concern: ATi PowerPlayer auto-throttles the clock speed when switching from 2D to 3D environments. In some games (notably Borderlands) it causes unstable drivers and eventual crash after roughly 20 minutes. A fix for this is to get a 3rd party utility and manually clock the card (even stock clock speed if desired) thus disabling PowerPlay. ATi's Catalyst Control Center allows you to overclock but it will *not* disable PowerPlay.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: This was my first PC build. The card installed easily (and with much less force than I would have anticipated).

Cons: As others have noted, the card is long and the power connector is on the end. I had to move my harddrive in order to fit the card.

My previous card had two monitor outputs AND an HDMI output, which was nice for switching between my dual display desktop and my home theater projector. This card has only the two DVI outputs and an S-video output.

Other Thoughts: I should have paid more attention to the outputs.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, But Huge!

Pros: Great card, nice and fast for the money. I think its a pretty good deal. It's not the top of the line, but it has played every game I have thrown at it so far with no problems.

Cons: The size of this thing is an issue. I use a cube style case and it is so big that I had to mod a few areas to make the power connector and fan fit.

Other Thoughts: Other than the size of this monster, I have no other issues. If I needed too, I could run another one of these in the Crossfire config on my 680i motherboard so its not so big width wise, just length wise. All in all, though, I love the card and love the price! I highly recommend it.
